For sure. It's awesome. It's cliche to say, but they don't do it like this anymore. It's unashamed to be big, bombastic and theatrical. Now adays in the time of everything being a joke or attempting subversion- sincerity is considered cheesy. It sucks...
I'm(or at least I was a big fan of the Animated series), Danny Elfman Did a great jobb on that and the first two Burton movies, but the Batman Forever theme is the best, one can argue it isn't the most iconic,(I think it's) but definitely the best!
"Cool party!" "Chill!" "What killed the dinosaurs?... THE ICE AGE!!" "In this world there is only one absolute. Everything FREEZES" "Can you be cold, Batman?" Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze is the greatest casting decision in the history of film making
KVN PRODUCTION I agree whole heartedly. Though to be fair, someone could eat Taco Bell, go to the bathroom and create something better than Batman and Robin
Say what you want about this movie but the theme itself was actually worth listening to. It's very Batmanish. If Joel tried a more serious approach it'd be good.
+stefannofornari™ Yes its a known fact that when this movie came out Poison Ivy gave them their first boners and thus they wanted to drink toxic waste to join her :(
Wow. The amazing score, A-List actors, Oscar winning writer, and its budget couldn't stop this movie from messing up. This should be a lesson for studios and for Warner Brothers
This was the first Batman movie I saw in the theaters. I saw when I was 5 and I loved it because, well IT'S BATMAN! I was too young to notice the bad puns, the all the other problems people claimed it to have. I rewatched it recently and I'll admit it is definitely not the best movie around, but I don't hate it. This movie still has a place in my heart, especially the Uma Thurman parts, I'll admit it's stupid and campy, but I still accept it and I can't wait to get it on blu-ray with the rest.
It was one of those weird moments where it honestly took me a couple of seconds to realize why Clooney was in the movie. When I first saw him my first thought was “why is George Clooney having a cameo as Bruce Wayne.
Near the ending of it or so it brings out the real heroic side of Batman despite being all as a darken type, he knows he's a good guy and do anything to protect the innocent lives around him with Robin but also knowing to strike terror into hearts who commit such evil. This theme of Batman is like a combo of light and dark wrapped together. Growing up this theme made me feel like Batman was in me and when putting on costume that same feeling always came alive.
At the time it would have been great. Unfortunately Tim Burton has gotten a lot of ire since then. Reminds me of how I heard there was supposed to be a Superman movie helmed in the 90s directed by Burton and with Nicolas Cage in the title role. That would have been cool back then, before they both sucked.
well, all the magazines and tv shows about Batman Forever were like "thank god Burton is gone! and with him that midget Keaton" and stuff like that. his movies weren't nearly as apreciated at that time as they are now.
I really blame the parents and studios for the movie. He even apologized publicly if fans didn't appreciate or like this movie. wasn't entirely his fault, a director can only do so much as he's allowed to. That's basically why Burton left the series. I honestly think Keaton and Burton should make their own Batman series continuations. They got enough money now to fund it themselves, and it's not like it's copyrighting anything canon to Nolan's. I think they should at least make two more movies together, to close the series out at least..
Eternaldarkness3166 "...and after a 30 years vacation, Batman, now in his seventies, returns again! Brace yourselves for Batman 2020 - because crime never retires!"
Eternaldarkness3166 A Tim Burton Batman Beyond movie with Keaton would be great! It would really work...and bring Mark Hammil to physically play the Joker since he really got back into shape and looks healthy. I think that would really work!
Blame Warner bros as soon Batman forever got profit they immediately got the next one done short time to prepare and everything else in between this had so much potential and they wrecked it 😔😔😔
I can honestly say I fucking loved this film, it's a big part of my childhood aswell as the other Schumacher/Burton Batman films. If you don't like Schumacher's work, don't watch it. I think Schumacher and the film crew knew what they were making when they made this film, they knew the kids would love it and the critics would love to write negative stuff about it, I will always love this film, no matter what anybody says.
I mean a costume design that was like the greek gods, how can anybody not like this movie, it's epic like it's costume design, fabulous! I like actually like Freezes puns, people say they are bad, I think they are fun and light hearted. I wanna try more of the adam west batman...I forgot how this movie reminds me of him with the team of Batman and Robin in the show and in this movie, it works. I don't know what Bane looked like before, but I think he's cool here.
if thats actual audio from the composed score with all the cool inventive effects when their suiting up at the beginning thats AWSOME ! :) what a great composer u are Elliot Goldenthal ;)
My observation is that they went too far with the campiness. I loved Batman Forever, but B & R went way too heavy on the camp. Sir Patrick Stewart would’ve been a better Mr. Freeze in the vein of Batman: The Animated Series.
if the tone of the film was darker and was more sympathetic towards Freeze, have only 2 villians that conflict with each other instead of team up and trust being an issue towards Batman and Robin as a reflect of the conflict with the villians and then yes this would've been better i would around 77%-85% on rotten tomatoes.
it was very sympathetic towards freeze. And yes the film could've been darker, but because parents complained about Batman Returns, they had to lighten it up.
Switch sympathetic towards Freeze with sympathetic towards Ivy and I can get on board with that. She's always been a more sympathetic and humane character than Freeze in my opinion.
"Gotham needs something more... something worse to defend her, she needs a new myth. A legend more powerful than I can be right now. A legend that can only rise from the ashes.. of the Batman".
I love Dick Grayson's story and origins, how close it's to batman's story. I think whoever did the logo for this movie did a great job in the design. The Robin over the Bat, as a sign of the future that awaits Dick.
Chris O'Donnell had this to say about this movie . he quotes : "When I made Batman Forever, I felt like I was making a movie. When I made Batman & Robin, I felt like I was making a toy commercial". LMAO . . when i watched it . i was like wow this one long ass toy commercial .
Uma was the only one who came out of this movie smelling like a rose. She had to channel the sensibility and burlesque style of stars such as Mae West and Marlene Dietrich in order to not only excel in this role, but make sure her career survived it. And it did.
when men were real men and you could tell if they were one or not, these days lol who could tell. When the world wasn't so offended all the time and call it hate speech. I watch this movie and think of better days, simpler times for movies.
This movie is freaking insane. I dont know why but I like it. As I like The Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman Begins, The Dark Night and Dark Knight Rises!
@Rhewin You may have a pint. Personally, I loved a lot of things in this film. Giant sets, cool costumes, upgraded vehicles, and even the music for this film was phenomenal!
+Selina Kyle yup it almost makes the movie seem not to bad i mean the music is nice... "i want a car chicks dig the car. this is why superman works alone".
@spacefruitlove and don't forget Chris O' Donnell as Robin...PENOMENAL, and so was everything else about him, from the gadgets, costume, and even his bike!
