I got same one, and use to sand before polishing especially on tanks…just ordered the XR die grinder with 1/4” shank and…I also have my eye on the Milwaukee M18 rotary variable speed polisher for those quick jobs where you don’t want to drag everything out…no cords certainly makes things a lot easier and those 20V batteries sure came along way! 👍

Already have other Dewalt 20 volt stuff, so the tool only was just over $100! Thanks for the heads up on this, Denis!👍🏻

Great review of the DeWalt sander. You convinced me to order one today. More importantly, I have a question I was hoping you could help me with that pertains to the small amount of non-commercial aluminum polishing I do here in my shop. I’ve been using the Zephyr system with the yellow/orange first cut wheel, followed by the green/purple, and finally the white. The three bars are the the ones that came with that kit.....more specifically the Tripoli, green joker i thinks it’s called and finally the blue moon last. My problem is that (especially the first cut and the color tend to leave a lot of residual spots of bar material on these motorcycle wheels (billet aluminum) that I can’t seem to get the wheel to cut off. I can remove it somewhat easily with a microfiber cloth but as soon as I get back on it with the polishing wheels it starts again. It’s as if the bars were too “greasy” of a compound maybe. I using a VS Dewalt polisher (600-3500rpm?) ive tried more pressure, less pressure, lower rpm, higher rpm, more frequent raking, more compound, less compound, etc and can’t seem to figure out what exactly I might be doing that I need to change to minimize this issue. If you have a minute sometime....I’d really appreciate, and be willing to try any suggestion(s) you might have to make things go smoother. I know you’re an incredibly busy man but if a quick call would be easier for you, I’d certainly be open to that as well. I promise to be brief. Thanking you in advance for any help you can offer.
