BATTING IN A MATCH & WEARING A MICROPHONE
Batting Part 2: • BATTING IN A MATCH & W...
Bowling: • BOWLING IN A CRICKET M...
On July 21st 2018, I played a one-off league match for Eastcote CC vs Enfiled CC in the Middlesex Premier League Division 2. I hadn't played or trained for 4 months (since the Australian season ended in March) so was uncertain how I'd go. Eastcote is my former club of 5 seasons (2008-2012) so it was great to get back and play a match for them.
For this piece of content, I had my videographer, Will, film my batting and bowling while I wore a microphone to talk through what I was thinking, how I was feeling and what my plans were. This is part one of a unique video series that I hope you'll enjoy and learn something from. Please Like & share and leave a comment below to let me know what you think.
Make sure you watch part two when it's published....
An insight into the batter:
G’day legends. My name is Tom Scollay and this is my Vlog. I’m a former professional cricketer [I played for Middlesex CCC from 2010-2012] and now play first grade in the WACA premier competition in Perth. In 2016 I founded Cricket Mentoring. I share my life in a vlog that documents my life as a coach and player and as I strive to grow Cricket Mentoring into a global brand. Thanks for joining me on this journey. I hope you enjoy it and learn something from it.

Cheers Arthur. Was a great battle! You gave me nothing. I think I was very lucky to get away with the LB early in my innings (in this video). Keep an eye out for part 2. Would love to hear your thoughts on that video as well!

Cricket Mentoring- Online coaching, tips & advice yea very lucky with that lb! but that's middlesex county league for you where the standard is good but umpires are rubbish. and yea i like a good battle. after that rocket of a drive no way you was going to get another half volley! and yea can't wait to see part 2 very interesting stuff.
@cricketmentoring
@cricketmentoring 6 лет назад
Haha fair enough. Didn't give me anything near a half volley after that one. Have you seen all the comments about your action looking like Rabada? Some people thought you were him.
@arthurgeorge378

Cricket Mentoring- Online coaching, tips & advice yea i saw it. interesting I've never thought i had a run up or action like rabada. but yea I'll take that! I'll comment on what i was thinking as worked through each ball in the next vid. 👍🏾

Absolutely loved the battle between the two of y'all. Great value and very unique to know what's going on in the head of the batsman. The lesson is, even the best are nervous when they first take the crease. Great video 🔥✌️ and great cricket!

I completely agree that this is the best content you've put out so far. If you could do some of this during your on-season at Melville it would be great. It's both reassuring and educational to hear the parity in the thoughts that you go through and my experiences on a Saturday. More more more. p.s. Great cover drives.
@Guy_6397
@Guy_6397 6 лет назад
If wearing a mic during a Melville game would be considered bad by your teammates, perhaps a video of you batting from the boundary (like the footage in this video) and a talk over from you explaining what was going on, what you were thinking, what you did well and why, would be great. I find the videos where you are batting in the nets are the most entertaining and informative, but games would be even better.

I'm an opening batsmen but have been out of the game for 3 years due to illnesses, just back into it now and have hit 20, 21, 18 then 22 last 4 innings but when I'm getting to this comfort stage it's like I have forgot how to push on. These innings have all been have slow and well constructed which is how I bat! So a video like this is really helpful gives a look from another perspective! 👍

it was really interesting to hear a batsman's thoughts. As a bowler, it was good to see and compare what would go thru the mind of the batsman.

I watched this video before a game and i went on to score 28 off 20 not out. It was my best score ever. I'm more of a bowler. Thanks so much Cricket Mentoring
