New one is smaller which defeats the point of a sequoia. Also nobody is averaging 20mpg in the new sequoia. Which means it’s just more complicated and prone to break. Old Sequoia for the win. All they needed to do was change the dash.

While I do like the redesign & more tech on the new Sequoia, I’m disappointed that the 3rd row & cargo room does not provide enough space since it has a solid rear axle & has a hybrid battery underneath the seats! I have a 2007 Sequoia SR5 & while it does have a solid rear axle, it’s still provides enough space in the 3rd row & cargo room for my family. Toyota really need to offer the XL version of the new Sequoia since many are complaining about the interior space in the back!

Motormouth channel commented on poor gas mileage compared to EPA rating , poor storage options if carrying more than 4 passengers, third row seat does not fold into floor to make area flat

Like the new lines of the 23. Don't like the rear seating. I like the bigger dash screen but don't like how it sits proud on the dashboard. Looks like it will be annoying. I was looking to get my wife into a 23 but think I'll wait and see if any of these designs change. Too bad I was looking forward to this new roll out. Price increase doesn't seem to add up..

Why fix what isn't broken? Updating chet that has already proved itself working very well after years of none or minor change needs no updating. If it breaks down b4 you Even finish paying it off then it may need revision since no one want to pay costly maintenance and still owe the car note that same month. If it does and they know it, then they're draining ur wallet on purpose since they still decide to sell their faulty products to the public so we end up paying out of pocket for their intentional flaws.

The 2022 Sequoia has the 40/20/40 split second row, while the 2023 Sequoia has the 60/40 split second row, 2022 wins. The 2022 Sequoia has vertical tailgate struts while the 2023 Sequoia has horizontal tailgate struts, the 2022 wins. The 2022 Sequoia has a second row console with two cup holders and deep storage bin including power ports, while the 2023 Sequoia has only a flat tray on the second row between the two chairs with two cupholders. 2022 wins again. And last but not least; the 2022 Sequoia has the slide down power glass window on the lift gate while the 2023 Sequoia has the flip out lift up manual glass window on the lift gate. The 2022 wins that as well. All the cars that are being made now are losing quality and are not as good as the cars from back then especially the 2000's. The folks building cars now need to step back and take a lesson from the folks from back in the day when it comes to assembling cars.

2nd generation Sequoia wins with that bulletproof 5.7 liter V-8, that reliable Aisan 6 speed transmission, more cargo area, a flat floor and an automatic rear sliding window. Plus, it's masculine looking.

Previous version size was impressive ..i live in africa uganda..i first saw the sequoia about 5 yrs ago and it was a massive, i was like "americans and showing off" and most surely will see the new version in about 10yrs from now on our roads...but in all the new version luks sleek😎

I have owned a 1st, and currently own a 2nd gen Sequoia. I am afraid I won't be getting the 3rd gen. I would love for my Sequoia to get better fuel mileage, but it isn't a top priority. Practicality, capacity, reliability, longevity, and capability are top of my list and this new one doesn't fit the bill. Seems like focus shifted towards looks, tech, and gimmicky features. Huge loss that the rear window doesn't roll down like the outgoing gen, but it is just more evidence that they focused on looks over real world use.

fold down 3rd row seat takes up to much space when folded and there is huge hole between 3rd and the 2nd row when its folded

Can Toyota please give us the option to buy the new sequoia as full gas platform and non of that hybrid nonsense? I’d buy that in a heartbeat over a Tahoe or expedition. It’s such a beautiful car too😭

From what I’ve heard, much of the hybrid system design is German designed, meaning it’s complicated and more likely to break 😂

As a 1st gen owner, no thanks. It's a downgrade. 2nd gen continues the practicality and ruggedness with a bigger interior and cargo space. And they eliminated the rear roll down window. Big yikes there Toyota.

The 2023 redesign is beautiful on the outside. On the inside it's an unmitigated disaster. I'd have bought one in a heartbeat but that complete disaster of a 3rd row/cargo space is deal breaker!!

For the price of the new Sequoia, I can sup up the engine, get a new interior, upgrade my radio and drop down TV to a 40 inch, add wifi, and still be under $80,000! I'll pass till they come out with one that is bigger, air ride again, better feul economy than 23 and entertainment for all the passengers.

The Second Generation Sequoia has more interior room and cargo space. The v8 is reliable. Twin turbos and the disgraceful cargo space is less car for more money=loser. The Jeep Wagoneer is the right design but the wrong engineering....Toyota should build one based on that design with Toyotas engineering.

Why wrong engineering? I loved the Wagoneer when I rented it for a week but I'm not sure of its long term reliability. I'm not too knowledgeable about the automotive world and my first question was sincere. Why should I stay away from the Wagoneer?
