+Howard Robertson the worst part about it though, since EA lost the license, getting your hands on this nowadays is rare (£60 for used copy), so the 2nd half of the stream is one long tease.

back in the day games were playable over lan like this one so they play over "lan" "lan" instead of lan cuz its not actual lan they let the computer think they r in lan even tho they technically rnt there r some platforms that allow u to do that such as garena tungle or hamachi iirc there was a skype group that any1 can join and to play in edit: join.skype.com/bMbd2jt17pEM found it

+Stefan Pyne that, and since theyve abandoned the SAGE engine (which i personally think is the pinnacle of EA's RTS days) even if they did, it wont be as good

+Stefan Pyne well, there was nothing wrong with the engine, EA just wanted to hop on the latest trend of not building bases (cnc4) which basically killed the RTS genre for EA. They TRIED to bring back the old SAGE mechanics with Generals 2 and CnC Online, but because of the f2p, p2w format it didnt even get past beta. And it seems nobody in ea wanted to fix the AI's behavior with the engine. Basically if you beat the first 10 minutes of rushes, the AI just stops attacking. Nonetheless, im still pretty sure that the SAGE engine was what produced the best multiplayer RTS games for EA

BFME2 was the first computer game I ever had. I used to spend hours after school was I was 12 just messing around in skirmish mode. Also funnily enough while I completed the story campaigns easily back then, I am having a lot of trouble doing them now.

The best thing about BFME was the walls and towers you could build. So amazing, everytime i played with my friend we used 30min no-rush rules and just built a helms deep base and then assaulted each other xD With modded 1000x unit limit, of course. Fps be damned.

Heard the aspiring DM comment and I hope that person (along with any other aspiring DMs) see this: being a DM isn't about killing the characters, a character death should have a good reason behind it: don't make it easy for them but don't run a meat-grinder campaign. Dungeon Mastering is about creating a story and helping the characters grow, molding them into legends that the players will be proud of as well as making the game fun for everyone.

Smith is playing this game like if it is some sort of MOBA. He's building a hero and 2 units, techs up, and then stops building units. Dude, this is an RTS based on hordes of units, you're supposed to just keep spamming out pikemen and archers and wolves, then attack your enemy with an actual army, not just a fellowship of an orc and a witch king. Love you Smith, and Trott. Fuck Ross :)

I've not seen the group play yet so I'm not sure about this but I'm going to take a wild guess and say that Frodo is illogically the best hero for one of the playable factions. I say illogically because Frodo didn't really do much compared to everybody else in the lord of the rings. His only important job was to carry the ring and ultimately cast it into the fires. And he failed even failed to do that right!
