@Sans-stone I still have my ds as well. Along with Diamond, Pearl AND Platinum. I owned Pearl first but I wanted all the games and got both Diamond and Platinum for great prices. It was honestly a steal cause the games are real
I think its simplicity is why it's so great. It doesn't need to be flashy or "busy" as far as songs go. It's meant to enhance the battle on your screens, and I think the tone of the song conveys the challenge posed by each trainer quite well. I don't think there's a single bad gym theme in the entire series (except Gen 6), but I just have a serious soft spot for this one.

Renegade Platinum is so fun and I love the changes, makes things more difficult and fresh too. I am struggling when I'd normally cakewalk teams. I mean in regular platinum I am confident using pokemon that are weak to the opponent, but in this you have to be on point with everything.
For me Gen 4 had the best music and Gen 3 was a pretty close 2nd except when it came to the Gym leader themes Gen 1 is probably slightly better than Gen 3.
Currently doing a massive senior capstone project while listening to this on loop. These were my first pokemon games when I was a kid, and even then I knew that this music meant that whoever I was fighting was a significant opponent.

@@ashy3604 i honestly dont like gen 6 other than the fact that we have mega evolution, and it(referring back to mega evolution) was great. dont get me wrong, oras was great and i would play it again. but xy didn't really do it for me, and mega evolution was almost never used in the main story or post game. Xerneas and Yveltal were too easy to catch, the same thing for Eternatus too. I also didn't like that there was so little to do in xy after main story
dude, i really struggled vs fantina, my kadabra is weak, my buizel is bad, i have my hm slave to sacrifice, and the rotom does'nt have good moves, but i added a gabite with earthqake to the team, and evolved buizel using the same trainers, gaining money, and right now im in the daycare training my monferno and staravia up.
The diamond and pearl remakes r being made by a different company and to be honest I’m just going to wait for legend arcaus cus I don’t really like how the games look
