I was born and grew up in a republic from Soviet Union. Since I was a child I have loved America. But so happened by fate that I live in America from 2001, and love this country, but my heart is broken when I see some things that are fighting against prosperity of this country. O lord God please intervene in behalf of this country.

Probably one of the greatest songs ever, in any language, any culture, any religion.

As a Vietnam Veteran this song brings tear to my heart for so many of our veterans that died so we can have the freedoms that we have to this day. A very beautiful song and inspirational

One day every knee will bow, every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. This song will redound from all people and tears of joy and worship will be our hearts full.

My choir sang this when I was in high school and I always felt exalted each time we performed it. Thank you all for warming my soul this evening! God bless you.

I’m British but this song always stirs the heart,played at my brother in laws funeral.

As a native of Dallas and an unapologetic American there’s no greater song to stir the soul!

His truth continues to march forward. The day is soon approaching when he will command his angels to lift the bowls of his wrath. At his command, each will pour what can not be stopped. Nothing in heaven or on earth can withstand him. Woe unto those inhabitants on the earth on whom his wrath is poured on! Even now, Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus, come!

WOW this song used to be sung on the 4th of July and I have NOT heard it sung in years! THANK YOU DALLAS

My dad spent 30 years of his life serving under water on submarines for our great country. Thank you First Baptist Dallas Choir for honoring all men and women who have served in our military and especially those who gave their life for our freedoms. May God continue to watch over the United States of America and bless those who have gone before us to keep us FREE. May we never, ever forget the bombing of Pearl Harbor. God Bless the United States of America where Freedom is never, ever free.

I have a friend who sent me this link on RU-vid. Today 9 years ago my son Sgt. Garrett Misener USMC was KIA in Afghanistan. I know I will see Garrett one day not because he was a good but because when he was a younger guy it was by faith he asked Jesus to be his Lord and Saviour.....just as I have done! Garrett was known to share verses of Scripture with his fellow Marines. He was very fond of quoting John 15:13 "Greater love has no man than this that he lay down his life for his friends." Several of his fellow Marines had t-shirts made up with that scripture verse on those shirts when we met them later that same year.

I remember being 6 years old hearing this song at a church, the details and feelings are like it was yesterday, this was 36 years ago.. the presence of the Lord I felt in that moment and the greatness of His glory that He revealed was something I’ll never forget. Praise be the father of our Lord Jesus Christ and the beautiful Spirit. Happy Easter 2024! He is risen. All things are possible for you because He lives!

I've had the privilege of singing this hymn so often with church and Festival choirs that I can do it from memory. But our groups usually keep the first verse at the forefront - "the coming of the Lord." That's what the entire world needs, not only the USA. "Thy Kingdom come."

The first time I heard that song was in a Baptist church in Rosewood Heights Illinois. My dad was a Green Beret. He was away when a young man from our church was killed in Vietnam. My dad brought his body back. I remember my dad standing in the aisle of the church larger than life, as he always was to me, crying. It was a first for me to see that. It was also my first experience with death. I could never listen to the song without crying after that. After my dad passed away in March of 2016. I heard the song for the first time without crying. Much anyway. Someone told me I was carrying his pain. When he passed there was no more pain for him. My Grandpa was the pastor of our church and the service. I guess I knew he met my dad at the gates of Heaven. I try to live my life the right way so that in time I can see everyone again. Thanks for stirring my soul.

I was in Texas last week on June 30th. I should've came by to visit First Baptist Dallas in Dallas, Texas to help celebrate this amazing Patriotic event!

WHY did they change the words, as they were originally written: "As he died to make men holy.....Let us DIE to make men free" to "As he died to make men holy....Let us LIVE to make men free"? I think it RUINS the entire impact of the song. WHY do they take such license?

Some of us American citizens actually love this, are proud of our heritage and understand it is all because God... I was so moved reading comments from other countries because they know, they understand the good, the great, and the true foundation of Christ for our freedoms in the US.

I am a naturalized US citizen. My high-school was established by an American Minister and this song was our second school anthem since. I still don't attend churches but this song always beats my heart, after all 50 years of time. God bless my countries.

I love this hymn and have been looking for the last couple years for a version that is absolutely special to me. Well, I FOUND IT!! This is the most beautiful one ever. And I love the video, especially when the stage singers start to march toward the audience. I would like to come to your church one day if I didn't live so very far away! God Bless you all!!!

Shame. You bastardized the song with the pallid phrase "live" to make men free. The text was "die" to make men free. It is easy to live for something but it takes faith, passion and commitment to be willing to die for a cause. Thats what this song is about and you missed the mark.
