Thanks for the review this is exactly what I’m looking for canned tuna of the highest quality and not scraps but full fillets/ steaks. You recommend raincoat however where can I get it for a decent price in the US?
Thank you SO much 116falconer for uploading this after my request! 👍 watched till the end and will be looking for an American tuna to send you!! if I do, I'll contact you for an address of where to send 😉 ....BTW --- "shutup siri, I wasn't talking to you...." lmao! 😂
The main difference beween "once cooked" vs "twice cooked" (I call in raw pack) is the content of natural oils. Steam cooking bakes out most of the oil before the fish is put in the can and retorted. "once cooked" is great and more nutritious but MUST be prepare from high quality fish regandless of species. "twice cooked" tuna is traditionally has had quality problems and precooking allows inspection and segragation of off flavor and color product BEFORE it goes in the can wasting cans, product, and labor. AND resulting in customer complaints.
+Blake Adams I've never been able to get any American Tuna BUT the good folks at RainCoast sent me a case of their albacore 👍👍👍 I've tried several times to see if American Tuna would send me a can, even offering to pay extra for shipping and handling, I've never heard anything from them. All the tuna is packed in water and I firmly believe that RainCoast is the best stuff out there 🍻🍻🍻
116falconer I bought you a can of American Tuna today. If you're interested I would be more than happy to mail it your way. You can send me an email if you would like for your address? jamesblakeadams@yaboo.com
American Tuna is the best. You need to try it. Wild planet is meant to be put in a bowl and mashed up, the liquid is reabsorbed. There is no added water it is just the cooked tuna.you are not supposed to eat it right from the can.
Thank you for spending the time you did to create this, but there's really no value to it other than to yourself. At the very least you should have done a "blind' taste test. It's clear you're prejudiced by your previous experience with Rain Coast. What would be real valuable to us consumers is to verify the claims they make. For example, Safe Catch says they test EVERY fish for mercury levels. Given the technology they use, this is an impossibility for the volume of product they produce. They also claim to be the lowest mercury product available, but independent tests prove otherwise. Look forward to your follow up - hoping you'll get that can of American Tuna.
