This one remained heavy throughout the day. It did hold a curl AMAZINGLY well though. Throughout the day, I did get a bit of smudging under my brow. :(

Great review! The Jane iredale, in my opinion, looked the best! They all looked good, but Jane for sure was amazing! I’m someone that can’t stand my lashes needing to be separated after I apply my mascara so I really appreciate you mentioning when separation was needed. I have the new Beautycounter mascara and was not very pleased, mostly due to the large packaging, too quick drying and my lashes needed to be separated afterwards. I’m going to try the rare beauty and Jane next ☺️

Your reviews are always so helpful and thorough! I’m curious if you have tried the new Kjaer Weiss impossible mascara? I never thought I would spend that much on a mascara, but it’s refillable. But so far, I think it’s great. Really buildable so I feel like I can do natural or more dramatic look easily. Only thing I would say is that I feel like it takes a little more work to remove it.

I tried the Fitglow old mascara and did not like it, didn’t do much for my lashes, even after using a primer. Will definitely be trying the Jane Iredale Máscara. Thanks for the Video Mandy

Great video! I tried the Ilia voluminous mascara and didn’t like it. It smudges terribly under my eyes. I have naturally long top and bottom lashes and I always have problems with smudging even with waterproof mascaras. However, I love the Ilia Limitless mascara. It is my HG. I am very curious about the JI mascara. Will look into that. Thank you. ❤️

I do love the limitless lash as well. I luckily didn't have any issues with smudging on my top lash line where all mascaras that will smudge, do. Sorry it didn't work out for you!

@MandyDavisMUA ~ I so appreciate you mentioning the "Heavy Feeling" aspect of mascara. Nobody else seems to describe that issue and for me it is a huge issue. I have Myasthenia Gravis which causes my eyelids to droop and when I put on a mascara that is "heavy bodied" it causes my eyelid muscles to weaken significantly, leaving me with blurred and double vision. I can't wear a full strip false lash for the same reason. I really need a mascara that adds volume without being heavy and will hold the curl to keep them out of my field of vision. I am interested in trying the Jane Iredale Beyond Lash Volumizing Mascara and the Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes Universal Volumizing Mascara. Thanks for this great info! XOXO ~~Christy~~

Next time you try the Beautycounter mascara, try skipping the conditioner. I don’t think they work very well together. It can transfer to lids so pat a translucent powder over your lid where it tends to transfer. I really love it but I’m curious to try JI.

I have found that the full size of the Ilia fullest volume performs differently than the mini. The mini tube picks up MUCH less on the brush than the full size. Loved it in the mini, couldn’t get it to work in the full because I couldn’t clean enough off the brush.

I find that to the case with a lot of mascaras when it comes to minis vs. full size unfortunately.

Thank you for that review Mandy!!!! I’m struggling myself to find a good, CLEAN mascara - and one that actually works!!! I’ve tried the Fitglow and didn’t like it at all as it flaked a lot. And the Ilia I didn’t like as it was so sparse looking on the lashes and therefore now great overall. Didn’t try JI as like you said, didn’t have the best reviews. But I do like Dr. Hauschka’s mascara! I’ll try rare beauty one and go from there. Thanks again as it’s true, that’s a tougher one to find - clean mascara! xoxo

Sorry you had issues with flaking with the Fit Glow. I love that mascara so much. It's crazy how they work different on different people.

Great video Mandy! I think I don’t use Ji products is because it’s not sold in any of my close retailers. I like the Illa brand also but I didn’t care for the brush. I’m not a big brush fan.

Great comparison, thanks Mandy! Gotta try the Jane Iredale mascara😍 I like their powder foundations, but warm sienna is a bit too warm for my olive skin, the depth is about right though, would you recommend a shade for olive skin girls please? That will be very helpful!! Thank you!!

Hey Sally! Unfortunately, there aren't a ton of olive toned powder foundations in the jane line. It's cool/neutral or warmer. :( :( Suntan isn't as warm as Warm Sienna and in the same shade range, but it has more pink in it. If I come across one while working on someone, I will let you know!

You should try Alima Pure mineral foundation. They offer olive shades! And it’s a great foundation!

Hey Mandy :-)) Thanks for the video :-)) The Jane Iredale looked the best on your eyes. I have very long thick eyelashes and you saying feeling heavy on the eyes i get that a lot. Plus I'm going through the menopause and allergies are raging lol. My eyes are watery a lot also and i can't even put any pencil eyeliner on my bottom water line :-0 The Jane Iredale one looks really nice :-)) oxoxox

I've tried the new Ilia one and liked it, but it smudges under my eyes throughout the day. I have to use my Teint Idole on the bottom lashes so I probably won't be repurchasing. Love how easy the Ilia is to remove though!

I use the MAC gigablack lash on my bottom lashes always since it's a tubing mascara. If a mascara is going to smudge on me, it happens on my upper lash line, near my brow. Unfortunately, the Beautycounter one did that to me. :(

No, it doesn't come in brown as of now, but I am hoping they add some colors soon. If that changes, I will let y'all know.

In your testing did you make notes or have any thoughts on how the removal of the mascara went? When trying 3 out of the 5 (I have not tried the Rare Beauty or Jane Iredale) I found the Beautycounter mascara the most difficult to remove. I have used oil cleansing, cream cleansing and micellar water cleansing as a reference. Ilia and Fitglow seem to remove easily. Also in my personal testing of the 3 mascaras I did find that the Ilia flaked at the end of the day which edges it out of the running, so I'm eager to try the Rare Beauty and Jane Iredale. Thanks for the great review.

I feel like the one that took the most work to remove was the Beautycounter one. The easiest was Rare Beauty. :)

How does the Jane Iredale compare with the Chantecaille? I love that one, but it’s so pricey! I didn’t care for the Rare Beauty, because I couldn’t build it easily.

It's a good alternative to Chantecaille. I can't say if I love it as much, since I think Chantecaille is still my favorite mascara of all time, but the jane is definitely similar enough to not feel like you are missing out, and at a much lower price point. :)

I stopped using mascara years ago because of my sensitive eyes. But maybe now a clean mascara may work for me. What would you recommend for 74 year old eyes?????
