The part where Jon Snow draws his sword against the charging horses is probably one of the most visually striking scenes I’ve ever seen. IMO this is the best series ever produced in the history of television.
Me too. It was awesome! I was a little sad that they didn't keep him alive and torture him for a long time but hey I was still satisfied with his death
We couldn't get it on our cable channels so we got it bit by bit on dvd, watched it again and again, so glad we did it this way. Brilliant series, so epic, such talent too. 😊
Besides Hardhome, (which, let's be honest...that was a massacre) this is by far my favorite battle sequence in all of GoT. Season 6 was just phenomenal overall.
@@jamesclacher4874 You are right. Season 6 gave us The door, Battle of the Bastard and Winds of Winter. Those three episodes are really game of thrones at their best. What's the point of people not liking this season?
Agreed with everything except the screenplay. Screenplay was pretty awful. Plot armour for days, magically spawning pile of bodies, Sansa randomly deciding to not tell Jon about her army for the lulz or something. Great spectacle but narratively a mess.
@@tricko8000 7-8 Were most horrible. I am not against Bran the broken ending but everything in last 2 season was so rushed that nothing made sense completely. Specially Dany's death when compared to her dreams, in her dreams she even goes behind the wall where she meet khal drogo & her son, and yet when she sees the wall it doesn't reminds her of that dream or whatever she saw in house of undying. I thought after they teased Drogon taking her to volantis where red priestess are, she will go behind wall after getting resurrected and stay with jon. That seemed only reason why she passed the wall in her dream.
@@sujitB619 I see, but personally I think seasons 6 and 7 were good. Especially season 6. It gave us three of the best episodes in the show's history: The door, Battle of the Bastards and The Winds of winter are all extremely good. Season 7 also had some really good scenes, for example Jon and Dany's meeting. The season finale also worked very well.
This episode and Winds of Winter are easily the top two in GoT in my opinion. The three episodes I still remember all of the feelings from are these two plus the Red Wedding. We may just never see the likes of this again. I wish they had finished the series on a much stronger note though; easily could have gone another three seasons.
Nothing I've seen on film compared to this scene. It was so intense just watching it, my heart was beating out of my chest, I had to pause the episode it to catch my breath. This entire episode was perfection.
@@SparklingSilverCurls omg that’s the part that makes me cry lol I can’t even imagine what that’s like for Jon. But bc we are with Jon you actually can!Amazing and heartbreaking. The fact that Kit actually did that and let all those men pile on top of him, he’s amazing
When John snow finally got up and looked around, tormound was getting whooped, giant was half dead and sir davos looked hopeless, I was what the fuck, they are all dead
This episode alone pulls me back every few months. I have to rewatch it all the way through, from rickon running, to Bolton being nommed by the pups. Goosebumps every single time.
Jon is the heart of GoT, he is the best character in the world to me 💗 You are with Jon the whole time going through everything that he is when he was in one of the most vulnerable places he’s ever been. I always cry when he almost gets crushed and suffocated by his own men, one of the most heartbreaking, emotional sequences, and Jon finds the strength and hope himself to keep going, to fight his way up. Kit said that was one of the most important scenes of the season to him and in that moment Jon was actually reborn. The hope Jon always finds no matter what he’s been through makes me cry. Thank you Kit for your dedication to Jon and giving him your heart and to Miguel for your partnership with Kit in making Jon’s story feel so real and like we are right there with him, takes my breath away. Best acting I’ve ever seen 💗💗 one of the best episodes ever! In love
@@martinsmith8185 go away from from my comment and delete it. He did so much. Saved the world twice. He did the biggest thing in this show. Literally the climax of the show is the scene with him and Dany. It all came down to Jon and his choice. Your comment is ridiculous 😊
@@devenfeldstein9796 I like when he ran around winterfell and shouted at a dragon. Truely the prince who was promised. His lineage was very important....
@@martinsmith8185 stop being obnoxious, and discrediting all that Jon did. You’re a hater. I’m not gonna here any word. Jon did the most in this show. He United everyone to fight tirelessly against the dead, armored them, risked his life to get dany to join, took on both viscerion and the Night King in the sky and had rheagal tore his brothers neck out, burned millions of whites on top of a dragon. He did plenty. And he had more to do with killing dany which was what this entire show was always meant too come down to him, bc he is the prince that was promised to me, he brought peace by what he did and killed dany just like the mythical figure killed his lover to bring peace. Stop it now I can see you’re just a hater. His lineage mattered a great deal, it caused so many things that happened and shaped a huge deal of the story.
Hollywood's American film industry operates on a whole other level when it comes to movie production. Its exceptional CGI, top-notch acting, and unwavering commitment to crafting cinematic masterpieces are unparalleled.
I agree overall. GoT is peak of media, and reaches the peak of cinematography in several episodes, like BotB. but the show benefitted from hiring British actors. There were Americans like Dinklage, but isn't British acting school generally thought to be better?
Miguel Sapochnik is such a phenomenal director. Winds of Winter especially had some of the most beautiful cinematography I’ve ever seen. The fact that this was all done with a TV show budget is even more impressive. Battle of the Bastards may not have the best writing but in terms of pure filmmaking, only lord of the rings tops it
I find it really funny how everyone commenting about how they’ve given up on the show are always the first ones to click and comment on a new GameofThrones video. Sometimes, the actions speak louder than words... Anyway, sorry to disturb the circlejerk.
Then go away. But yet you’re here, proving that even the most hateful and ridiculous of comments prove the hypocrisy. that this is the best show of all time and you’re all still interested🥰
Who'd have thought I could have gone from loving GoT to forcing myself to watch it within 2 episodes... BotB is some of the best TV i've ever seen, pure chills throughout. Although I'm still sad about Ramsay dying tbf :p
@@orphanedhanyou excuse for shit writing, I had no problem with most of what happened, the way it happened was lazy. Plus the dialog that made GoT so good was pure cringe
I watched the series all the way through for the first time around Christmas 2020. This episode was so amazing that i watched it a second time before continuing on to the next episode.
Game Of Thrones REMAINS THE GOLD STANDARD of Fantasy Television in my eyes (despite the fact it ended on a rubbish note) because of the quality of the cinematography, the set design, the costume design, the direction, the music, the cast and their performances, the battles, the tension and the drama. I have re-viewed the series a couple times since it ended, but I treat Season 7 as the finale and let my imagination do the rest.
The battle Of Bastards Season 6 Episode 9. This is the most visualrealistic battle i have ever seen. Everything is perfectly shot. The way John pulled a sword against bolton army that is the scene which i never forgot in my entire life. Kudos to the team of GOT.
Listen y'all, we have to pay credits to ramsey too for having a great plan, isolating jon's army , that was a great plan, but he didnt anticipate the vale lol Man, the amount of time when they're doing this, the dedication and passion, i love it, salute
I dont know who runs this channel but I really appreciate these videos!!! Something to keep the show alive is always nice.. "what's dead may never die!"
