Testing out the ever popular (and powerful) CCI Stingers against their younger brother the CCI Velocitor. This is a battle of the brothers, who is the better 22LR round? Using the Taurus TX22,
I've always had good results with both of those rounds, but I do believe the Velocitor hits a bit harder from a pistol. Test them from a rifle Fat Dad, I'd love to see the results of that test. Oh yeah, I think you ought to stand back a little bit farther when you're using a pistol, lol. I really appreciate your tests and your personality. Make as many as you can.👍
Both are awesome, Velocitors deliver more punch out of a pistol and Stingers are just plan HOT so you get that nice fireball out the end of the barrel. Keep up the good work!!
velocitor hardly expands to the point it actually makes a difference. The stinger has a a greater chance to expand in handguns and rifles. no use using these in handguns, better off using mini mag 40gr solids, results will be roughly the same as the velocity decrease in both velocitor and stingers is quite drastic making expansion improbable. not worth the price in a handgun. these are more suited in rifles.
Being 74 years old living in California most of the life. I started out trapping ground squirrels with thin copper wire and feeding my chickens with them except for the tails which had a 10 cent bounty on their tail and bought the Marlin 39A . This gun is the oldest 22 model still being produced USA by Ruger. As is the 45-70 which is have two of, one of the old blued design and the other Stainless Steel design. With the Micro Grove Rifling the 39A with a 2-7 power scope and shooting Stingers I can put 5 shots in a dime size target at 100 yards.
Stinger is my favorite 22 round and have been stocking them up since I’ve been seeing them in the shops again but that’s out of a rifle for hunting. As far as my pistol I prefer the Velocitors, they carry a good punch for little 22 back up carry guns or snake guns lol

Good to know! What about a playoff? The velocitor versus the mini mags and the federal punch cci tactical rounds, etc! ? I’d like to know if my daughter has to defend the home versus zombies! Yeah, let’s do some brackets!
In my TX22, l only use Velocitors. I buy factory diect at reasonable prices. I'm happy with with the target results and the rarity of jams. Can't say that about stingers in my TX. They jam at a much higher rate. I would NEVER consider a Stinger in my TX22 for self defense. IMHO
I've watched this 3 times. I keep waiting for an OH! CRAP I shot my 🚗 car. I know if I watch enough times you'll eventually miss your shot and shoot your 🚗. Could you hurry a little please?
The CCI Velocitor was made for small game hunting like varmints(coyotes, foxes,etc.)at long distances in 22 lr long barrel rifles from 75-150 yards or more.With 40 grain bullet is 200 fps more faster than other 22 lr in same bullet weight and retaining as much muzzle energy punch as lighter grain bullets lose muzzle energy at longer distances.

I've shot Stingers for years but I just found a deal on a brick of Velocitors coming Monday so I can't wait to see how I like them. I will be shooting both out of my 3 screw 4 clicker single action revolvers........Let the fun begin.
one would think that initially at least with the stinger, that the entry hole would be smaller because it had not yet expanded. and the exit hole would be bigger after it expanded. this one has me confused lol
This guy aint fat, many of us Dad's work very hard to maintain a ,marshmallow like, physique and this man comes in and steals our valor after what I can only assume is a lifestyle filled with deplorable vegetables and physical activity, uggh, nice video though, I guess if you have to pick you go with the better deal. I really wish I had enough ammo and messy targets to follow this down the rabbit whole, so much fun lol
There's a warning on the CCi stinger saying that it should only be used in a competition style firearm. What do you think? Can the CCI stinger be run through a Ruger 10/22, Winchester Wildcat, Rossi rs22?

Another great test and yes you do shoot your 10/22 a lot and I realize that this was a pistol comparison and I have to agree that velocitors won today hands down. PS at least I have a couple boxes of velocitors and probably over a 1000 stingers so you can guess which is my favorite

I would assume that shoot quite a bit of both of these rounds. Which one would you say feeds, fires and ejects more reliably? As always, great video and I look forward to more.
Thanks for watching! I haven’t had any problems with either. But I would go with the Velocitors if you wanted 100% reliability because stingers have that extra long case that doesn’t play well with some barrels.
I am sure the critters around there enjoy that dogfood :D havent had a chance to try any velocitors but they look pretty good! usually I just shoot the 36gr mini mags and really like them! have a good one and thanks
I will be grabbing some if i ever see any on the shelf lol i have not seen any here in central arkansas and only recently the federal punch 22LR i did grab a box of that and probably will get some more although the only 22 i have is a Rossi Rio Bravo lever gun I do plan on a pistol hopefully sooner than later! Suddenly CCI's website says "Check your local store" for availability on the Velocitors, as opposed to "Available" or "Currently unavailable"... Anyone have any insight on the situation?
@@LKaramazov I hope not, but it has me wondering if they are going to replace it with a "self defense" load. "Check your local store for availability" is what their website has said for the SGB since they stopped producing it.
Just got 500 rds.velocitors from cci. No stores have I found carrying them. Only allowed 10 boxes at a time. Will order another 500 next week. Hopefully the don't deny my purchase.
I never wear safety glasses when shooting and at our club nobody else is wearing it. In 55 years of shooting I never saw the reason why and I am not going to do that because the internet police complain about not wearing it.

It's a little irritating to get the constant comments about it, but that's the joy of putting out RU-vid videos I suppose.
My ar exploded due to faulty ammunition and if I wasnt wearing safety glasses I would probably be blind. Unlikely? Maybe. High consequence? Definitely.
@@SushiArmageddon There are many car accidents where people was wearing seatbelts and with airbags in the car but still died. Everybody is still using cars for transport. If a person stop doing things because of the possible danger, they will stop living altogether. If I take every safety precaution in the book to avoid any possible danger, I might just as well not do anything and stop living.
@@L.V-Rider im not telling anybody to stop doing anything im reporting on my experience. I shoot guns, i ride motorcycles. Im sure i have more danger in my life than you. If i didnt wear my safety glasses id be blind and if i didnt have my gear on when i crashed at 80mph Id be dead. Stop being so sensitive.
@@SushiArmageddon Ha-ha. Who is sensitive here? Like I said, I am actively shooting for many years and never even saw a reason for wearing eye protection. Like you, I am also riding bike, off road and street bike of which one is a Suzuki GSXR 1000 with more thread leftover in the middle than on the sides, hence the name L.V-Rider for Low Veld Rider. I can name a few other things I did in the past as well but this is not a contest. I know about playing with danger if you want to compare. Go look at many other well known youtubers doing a lot of shooting without wearing eye protection and preach to them if you feel the desire for it.
Thanks for the video. I finally got to try some Velocitors last week. 4 out of 5 in one ragged hole and all inside a penny piece at 25 yards. Awesome accuracy through my CZ 452 24" barrel and they certainly strike with authority. They really do live up to the hype and I can't wait to try them at longer range on Varmints.
@@jhj9296 It's not the best for representing real world situations. It does give an idea of how different rounds perform relative to each other though.
