This and your Part 2 were an excellent introduction to what will be my first hex and counter wargame. I also liked your Wir Sind Das Volk introduction. Keep up the good work!
I have played this game several times. Here is why I like it. 1. You can finish a game in 2 hours. 2. You can easily teach it to non-wargamers. 3. The Allies do not know which scenario card the German player has chosen which makes this game endlessly re-playable. 4. As the German player, you actually have a chance to cross the Meuse. 5. The mechanics are simple. 6. The step system means you don't have to have big stacks of units. 7. It captures the flavor of the overall battle. Germans start with a bang but every effing turn more US units keep showing up and they quickly start forming blocks at the key road junctions.
Gosh! Hundreds of Bulge games. Some are multi-map, multi-weekend affairs. And some are very different - like this one for instance. What is your favourite Bulge game? Please take a peek at the video and then let me know below! Thanks all 👍
Do I need ANOTHER Bulge game? Having seen your introduction, the answer is a resounding YES!!! :) Thanks so much for a brilliantly enthusiastic explanation :)
I have this game. The simplification makes it very playable but the trade-off is that It become a bit generic in the end and without as much flavor as one could hope for. But playable, certainly.
Worthington boxed games are indeed high quality for the price and they fall on that right spot for manageable time commitment with enough pleasing command and control decision making to be able to play a game in a couple of hours, give or take having to teach someone new. Okay, have to watch the entire length of this and then make a final comment ! ( and finish WL part 3 ! i'm 15 mins out )
@@soloboardgaming Well, you've surely said it during the video !!! I must confess that your overviews are worth 1000x any unboxing. They show the components and also already have a formed opinion after a few plays.
@@soloboardgaming Your vid made me interested to look at some others and I saw there are some errata though. Apparently there's an Infantry counter that shows armoured on its flipside...?
Appreciate you stopping by Hissy, thanks! Well, please don't follow me, I'm no leader thats for sure! But I picked a scenario that had a 'sudden death' condition that the Germans met unexpectedly!😲
