D-Day to the Rhine, 1944 (Worthington) - AAR and In-Game Play Discussion 

Yeah, I kinda muddled through the early turns and messed up the German replacement - fixed it later in the game. My rush to play/film had unintended casualties; but I had a much better grasp toward the end of play. Not a complex game at all.

BTW.. I got it in the mail and set it up yesterday, my British invasion failed. The Germans then managed to take both invasion beaches. The American's had the 1st Army in Normandy somewhere still at the end of turn 2 but there was no point in continuing. I'll try again

Hey! I just got this game in the other day and set up the standard game as well. I noticed at the beginning of your video You have Hodges above Cherbourg and Dempsey above Dunkirk. Im looking at my standard setup sheet and it shows that they both start at different areas and right next to each other at 1618 and 1719. Was there an errata somewhere or is this misprinted? I ran through the first few turns just to get a feel for the game but will setup again soon and just want to make sure I get my setup correct. Thanks for your videos I've been watching them a lot more since I saw you post on the FB group. Very helpful, keep them coming!

I am know expert, but in West Front games, Normandy is slow going but once broken the Germans have little to do but fall back to the Rhine. Market Garden was in Sept so in this game that seems an incredible advance for the allies. I think in this game as in my other West Front game, there is not going to be time to liberate those occupied ports. I can't imagine in real life the allies had the luxury of ignoring them but maybe they did.

may I ask why you are starting the October turn but have 3 unplaced german units from September? Plus, that can't be correct that German mechanized units can't cross the rhine

This game immediately left a bad taste in my mouth. No resource point tracker, no turn track, confusing setup cards, no charts on the map, confusing rule back, etc. I was expecting the same quality and production we got form 1944 Battle of the Bulge. This game looks like a rush job to me. It's sorta fun, but not enough for me to keep it.

I refuse to pay $$ and support a game company with such crappy production mistakes like those trackers. All that says to me is the rulebook is full of errors and inconsistencies, too. I've seen this too many times in my collection.
