For other guitar standars tuning are missing: D# Standard (a.k.a. Eb tuning) D Standard C# Standard (a.k.a. Db tuning) C Standard B Standard A# Standard (a.k.a. Bb tuning) And A Standard.

You need a Gibson SG for all the riffs you play that are supposed to be on SGs. Sabbath and AC/DC. And Eddie's MXR pedals

In my opinion, Drop Tunning sounds more epic than standart. I mean, bouth is awesome but if you want to play metal or some hard rock songs, Drop Tunning is soooooo awesome and gives your Guitar so much new engery. Sorry for my bad english and nice video, thank you

It really comes to your style of music u wanna write if u wanna write stuff like tool you'll need drop D but if u want to just rock u can use standard

@Kapālin nope there are songs that need to be drop D in order to work. Everlong wouldn't work with E standard, slither wouldn't work with E standard.

Drop B is my personal favorite tuning, you can play so many badass riffs on it without needing to Djent brutally and you can still be heavy af

I love all the riffs in the standard tuning category on the left , but I gotta go with the drop tuning category on the right , almost all the riffs in the drop tuning category are iconic.

All the riffs in the standard tuning are iconic as well. It’s subjective. Like for me linkin park isn’t iconic. But you know damn well Ozzy is iconic to me.

For Drop D he mostly just used heavy metal songs, which there are a lot of Heavy Metal songs that use Drop D mainly, but there is so much more than that. Two examples of Melodic Drop-D songs is Pins and Needles by Billy Talent and Ohio by Neil Young. Two very good songs.

The riffs/Songs for the drop tuning are the Songs i Used to learn guitar. Especially disturbed , System of a down, children of bodom and linkin Park and of course killswitch engage. One of the best Bands ever!!! So for that reason i have to say drop tuning. But i love Standard tuning none the less. To say it in a short way: awesome Video!! And lamb of god my, my heroes as well for leaening guitar

It depends on the song , some very heavy songs need drop down tunning , some don't . For example you'd never drop the tunning of Lynyrd Skynyrd's sweet home Alabama it would sound ridiculous. And on the contrary you should drop down Metallica's Sad But True .

As someone who plays in both Standard and Drop tunings (my go-to's have always been Drop D, Drop C# and Drop C), I've always thought that both are great for the song you're working on but I think that I personally have to go with Standard. Also major props for starting with Johnny B. Goode, that song has always been one of my absolute favourites and it was one of the first riffs I ever learned

No, the EVH Frankenstein replica has a device in it that he just has to flick a switch to retune to drop D and back up at a whim. Eddie Van Halen used Drop-D a lot so he patented the EVH D-Tuna device for use in his guitars.

Records each side separately with 2 cameras (the main one and the guitar close-up one), adds a couple fillers when he finishes playing each riff "reacting" to the other Danilo's playing and then crops the videos from the main camera and puts them together, filling in with the close-up camera shots here and there

Don't really think that's the case since tuning is a matter of preference and you can sound heavy and chaotic on either of the tuning. However most people like tuning down and using extended strings because it's much easier to sound heavy when compared to a six string standard. If you're good enough you'll probably not care about the tuning and look for the tone which suits you.

what gauge do you recommend for drop tuning? i sometimes find it hard (. 46 in strats feels too light,. 56 and. 54 are way too thick and i dont want to sand the nut too wide)
