I have the 7 Artisans one, and it's quite fun to use. It's compact and looks good on the A6000. Manual focus takes some practice and sometimes it's difficult to nail focus if you're using f/1.8.
@@ameture-fotografer Speaking of 7artisans 25mm f1.8 -- seems as more recent review claims it it sharp and doesnt have blur issues, could be more recent builds got blur edges fixed?
@@GamersGuard Thanks for watching our video and for your constructive comment. We hope you subscribed to our channel as well. It's very possible that the newer versions of either lenses are sharper than its predecessor. I've noticed that most of these Chinese lens makers follow the old "fake it till you make it" they introduce a cheap but of decent quality lenses till they build a reputation and more capital to make better lenses. Rokinon being one example. They start with ok manual lenses and now they are making Cine lenses.
I have both and my 7Artisans copy is far superior to my Meike copy in CA and sharpness (though extreme corners are better in the Meike, overall sharpness is better in the 7Artisans). At 1080 RU-vid compression is hard to tell but I can see in your review's examples the problems I mention, you should notice that at a closer look.
Hi Rogelio, Thanks for taking the time to tell us about your experience and I hope you liked my video and subscribed to my channel. If there's one thing I hope the future holds for us mirrorless camera users, is that these manual lenses improve on their glass.
Hi, I know it's been quite some time, but can your meike 25 focus to infinity exactly? Because my unit focuses "farther" than infinity if I try to focus all the way to the end so it's blurry and I have to go back a bit with focus ring, huuge bummer
Hi 90RPM, thx for the comment and we hoped you subscribed to your channel! You can't go wrong with either of these lenses if you're going cheap. Good luck!!
Of course, IQ is the most important thing but I want to know how they perform. How does the focus ring feel? How much revolution from minimum to maximum focus? Given that, wide open, how hard is it to nail focus, even with focus peaking? Stuff like that can really help! Thanks for taking the time with these lenses!
Bro, Thanks for Very informative video.. 7artisans 12mm 2.8 wide angle is good for landscapes photography, it can produce very sharp and crisp images using with xt1. Please kindly answer.
Hi Sanu, thx for watching my video and we hope you Like and subscribed to our channel. I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you asking me to test out the 7artisans 12mm lens? Unfortunately, I don't own one to test but if I ever get my hands on one I'll definitely test it.
Thanks for the question. Zone focus is best taken advantage off with auto-focus and since both lenses are manual they can't take advantage of it. Please don't forget to like and subscribe.
Thanks for the question. It's very difficult for me to answer without knowing few more variables. Watch the video I think I make a good comparison in price and image quality for you to easily decide. If language is a barrier, let me know what your budget is?
Hey Cynicus, thx for your comment and we hope you liked our video and subscribed to our channel!! Your suggestion is a great idea and I would love to experiment with such video. Can you give me some suggestions on what you would like to see in those sample videos? Like outdoors, indoors? Night/day? Thx again!!
@@shreekarabhat8427 Thanks for your kind comments and watching out video. I'll be working on the video testing out the lens' video shooting capabilities.
Hi, thanks for watching and commenting. I do mentioned in my video the in depth video on the Artisan7 lens where I talk about the Chromatic aberration. Here's it's link and I hope you take the time to watch it, like it, and perhaps share it :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TXsZoo7555M.html
Hi Venko, thx for your comment and watching hope you liked and subscribed to our channel. Both makers make a Micro 4/3rd mount, which I believe would fit the Lumix Camera!!
Salam Muhammad and thanks for commenting! We hope you've liked our video and subscribed to our channel. I don't have these lenses currently in order to make this video comparison. Perhaps in the future.
Hi Clorinda, thx for watching my video and I hope you've liked our video and subscribed to our channel!! either of these lenses would be good for family photos. Since either are f/1.8 they should perform well in low light situation as indoors. Good luck!!
@@JulianAzcarate They both are the same when it comes to sharpness so decide on what or another you will have to factor in that one has a slightly wider angle of view and body shape. Also price will be a factor. But either one will do good by you.
@@ameture-fotografer yeah, but that is an APSC lens. This is between 38mm and 40mm equivalent, depending on the crop factor. Between 35mm and 50mm is a “normal” focal length. 25 on FF would be a wide angle, but not 40mm Forgive me if I’m wrong.
Hi John, thx for the comment and watching the video. I'm not very familiar with Nikon's system, but the d7500 is a dslr and these lenses are for mirrorless cameras so adopting the lens to your camera might not be an option. Hope you subscribe and like our video.
Hi Dog Chasing Cars, thanks for watching and commenting! We hope you've subscribed to our channel. No, you can't put a follow focus on either of them because of what you mentioned about threads not being continuous. I got imagine it's a matter of time before both companies start producing Cine lenses with follow focus.
thanks for the video! I like the 7Artisans, I'm having a lot of fun with it, it feels good in the hand and it takes imperfect pictures like rangefinder does, I love a lens with a little character. (Mine is slightly dark, I usually have to up the exposure by +.3 or +.6.) I haven´t tried the Meike. But I'm eyeing the Zonlai 22mm f/1.8, that is quite a rare wide angle for such a large aperture! Have you played around with the Zonlai?
I've not checked the Zonlai 22mm yet. I'm now working on a comparison review of the Zonlai 50mm prime lens and the kamlan 50mm. Thanks for the comment, don't forget to like and subscribe!
While I've not gotten around to the Meike 22mm, I did finish my Zonlai 50mm review in case you're interested ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BGU3BapYVOY.html
Hello Alex, thanks for your kind question. Yes, both of these lenses are made for Micro Four-thirds mounts, which is what the Panasonic Lumix GX85 is. Search on Amazon for those particular mounts. Also these two were a success for their respective makers. As a result, they are making even better versions. Good luck to you and hope you liked and shared our video and subscribed to our channel.
Heard rotating the focus makes an uncomfortable grinding sound by a couple of people so it may not be as good long term even if image quality is the same, but that's reflected in the cheaper price of the Neewer of course.
Do you have a problem with sharpness at f/1.8 for Meike? I bought Meike 25mm f/1.8 few weeks ago. At 1.8 is not sharp it's look very soft (it'll sharp at f/2.8).
Some of these manual lenses aren't always sharp at that max aperture and will need to move to around f/2.0 or f/2.8 to be sharp. Also keep in mind that at f/1.8 your depth of field is narrow so the focus area is smaller. To be sure, if you can still exchange it for another one go ahead and do so. You may have a bad copy!!
I have been using the 7artisan one for quite some time and found that the numbers marked on the focus ring are not quite accurate. It means that when you turn it to 1m, you can't focus the object at that distance. Do you guys experience the same issue?
Hi Felix and thanks for your comment. We hope you've liked and subscribed to our humble channel. I've never tested that to speak on it. My advice would be to see if you can borrow another copy and test it. If you do please let us know.
You can calibrate the 7Artisans lens for more accurate focus by following the tips at these links: yukosteel.wordpress.com/2018/01/22/7artisans-35mm-f1-2-calibrating-infinity/ yukosteel.wordpress.com/2018/06/14/calibrating-focus-lens-with-bolts-on-focus-ring/ 7Artisans 25mm F1.8 infinity focus adjustment: Fujifilm X System / SLR Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review
Wide open both are slightly less sharp - from F2. 8 though, both are equally sharp for regular use . Extreme corners in the 7artisans never become sharp. Choose which ever you can find cheaper.
