DJ Quik is just like Dr Dre, all they do is lay the drums and mix later on, the rest is played by musicians like keyboards, guitar and bass etc. DJ Battlecat does it all by himself not to mention the talkbox!!@@SpikedCollar666
@@DS-fj8fh Are you serious? Those are augsperger speakers... they make everything knock. That combined with the dope ass samples he’s playing on the MPC 3000 🔥
I honestly think battlecat's beats are better than dre's. The beats that are on the radio now just arent as complex as they were. Now they're really simple... not to take anything away from them because I do think they are catchy but it seems like anyone nowadays can put a beat together in 10 minutes and talk about their suicide doors and making it rain and they have a hit. Watching this man work is a pleasure. Great producer, great beats, great talent.
Nah you are definitely not right, that's just different, i think that there were people in 90,00 who were saying the same words you wrote about beat making at all comparing to earlier times
i found this video 10 years ago and was juiced some of his studio time had been immortalized. been comin back to it every year. Most underrated producer, but highly appreciated by those that know that G-Funk.
Swear to God, sonically, them Eastsidaz albums had the same clarity the Chronic 2001 had, had my kickers knocking, still blown away by the clarity of it all lol, convinced me to start producing
💯 💯 💯! Battlecat seems to be on the same level as dre, as far as the mastering process goes. All his beats are super crystal clear 👌🏽. They're more into the sonic details than the actual beat
BattleCat is a beast! I'm not from the west coast but I been a big fan of his for a while. I recognize true talent when I see it and I don't think he get's the recognition he should get.
12 and a half years later and it just does not get old. Still criminal that this never dropped as a song or even just full instrumental beat. That steel drum OH MY GAWWWWD
It will never matter how the sound of music will cycle over the years, where some sound is hot and in for some period and than back to another, because this is solid and will always no matter what time it is. Man I keep coming back to Battlecat's videos and as always I'm amazed by how good the sound is. Battlecat should get more recognition than he's getting. He capturing the west coast sound totally perfect!
Anybody else got about 62 secs in and was like " ...nah mah nigga... If this is where he START... i gotta hear where this go!!!" 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 u caint squeez out no more west coast than what battlecat gih u. #legend
This is SOOOO inspiring y'all! Probably the best beatmaking video I've ever seen. Blows my mind every time I watch it! Thanks for the lessons, BattleCat!
erm, this is the earliest verson of Soul Plane's soundtrack im pretty sure i liked this version much more edit: not sure if its the actual soundtrack but you can hear this beat at the end of the movie
watched this so many times. he a G. any young producers watching its all about creating a groove a feeling, you can have all the best sounds and software but if you miss that step you will be forever searching
I bet the 53 people that dislike video are taylor swift, and jonas brothers fans. lol Cat is one of the most underrated producer. To make a beat from scratch is pretty sick as well as difficult. Any one who can appreciate west coast music should also appreciate battlecat being one of the west coasts pioneers in hip hop music.
