To any DICE developer who may be reading this, absolutely fantastic job, this game is brilliant, never in my life have i enjoyed World War games, but i knew if someone could change my mind it would be DICE. 9.60 out of 10 on the game, my only complaints... 1) Instead of a calm woman calling out commands you guys at DICE should go all out and add different voices and accents depending on what faction you are playing as, such a British soldier saying: "Lads why doncha go back there and recapture objective sharlie" or a German soldier with a more hostile voice saying: "Nein nein nein nein, if we lose to zee allies i will personally put you into auschwitz myself!" 2) I love that you must physically enter vehicles now, which i have waited forever for, but could it be possible you guys do the same for exiting? Make the pilot or driver think about their timing a bit more. Guys like this so a DICE developer has more of a chance to see this.
you really would not believe me if i told you iam just opening your channel doom and other youtubers and clicking f5 waiting for your gameplay of bf1 i love this game so much though my pc won;t run it keep up the good work
+Torgeir Tobiassen Battlefield is not a milsim and it will never be a milsim. Verdun is an entirely different game from battlefield and I'm glad to see battlefield sticking to what it does best, instead of trying to make a new game entirely
+Torgeir Tobiassen Verdun is the slowest pace, most boring ass indie game looking piece of fuck I have ever played. This game is not made for realism do not pretend it is
How can it only be 10 % when all weapons, vehicles and scenery are from the early 1900? If it was 10% as you say, it would be 9 different m4a4´s for every m1911 in the game.
+Walker1444 Probably more fun for people who want instant action in a WW1 setting, it doesn't remain as accurate or punishing as Verdun. BF1 looks fun though
they probably playing so they can talk contracts with EA for those cinematic story lines where celebs act for ... like in hardline or in black ops where kevin spacey was in
I know it's a small detail, but I can't be the only one annoyed of the grenade throwing animation? Seems way too fast, kinda like Battlefront - so hopefully they change it before it releases.
+Mitchell Vannoy No I know they'll probably change a lot of the sounds, especially the woman in the background, but it is pretty funny to hear that again.
"We got to get apple!" "This is no time to be thinking about food, mate." "No, you idiot, we lost apple!" "I didn't, as I never had one to begin with." "Christ, we are losing butter!" "Butter is no good for you anyway, mate. Stick with the apples." "C'mon, we need to get butter and apple!" "Let's just get apple. The two together doesn't sound all that appetizing."
It's all about milliseconds of who wins first or maybe hopefully they decide to add a standoff of where they fight like counter knifes in bf4 would be really cool to see that
humaid2003 but it was centered around the buildings, the trenches where completly ignored as the houses served as better cover. I want to see a map like in the first trailer at the beggining, where is just an open field with trenches.
Now that I'm seeing more gameplay, I'm noticing a lot of missing sound effects, as well as placeholders and animation glitches. they're likely going to be tweaking a LOT of stuff for the BETA. I mean, if you are to think about it, this 64 player live stream event was just a stress test/build to see what changes can be made for the next test, which we all know is the BETA phase.
0:57 he got hit by a bolt-action rifle, still has 21HP left, as the enemy try to shoot another round, jack mowed him down with an entire clip of MP18. WHO WOULD USE a bolt-action rifle in this game if everyone can use SMG to mow down enemies! Remove the SMG please EA. No Skills.
This game is going to be like COD WAW, with awesome graphics, epic destruction features, downgraded bolt action rifles and downgraded semi auto rifles.
Maybe he just had poor aim and hit him in the foot or leg. Damage multipliers are different for extremities. Also this isn't hardcore mode, takes more than a realistic amount of bullets to kill someone.
yeah, hopefully we see some trenches and some variety on how the game is played. From the current footage shown its basically plays just like BF4 but its ww1 themed, and im a little disappointed about that.Well just gotta wait for more footage and hope that they are going to do something to change the gameplay.
They should add a game mode with the emphasis on trench warfare, and the only way to win was to take down the enemy trench. However the game would take a long time.
If you know what real trench warfare is then you would not want to play it. It is basically a war of attrition where armies fight for 10 meters of no man's land. So they would have to change it up to make it less boring and tedious.
Well theres game called Verdun wich is pretty much that, and yet its still an awesome game. But really it would be nice to see a bigger developer try out something new, take a little risk, have some innovation.
Great atmosphere but the lady commander kind of kills it, thank god its a placeholder but I would much prefer a burly British commander yelling at me to attack objective breakfast.
I find it crazy now how all these A-list celebs are playing games and everyone hella hyped. Really helps with the progression of gaming and all the social platforms that cover it.
Whats crazy is that Terry Crews was the only guy on the other team using mouse and keyboard while the rest used controllers. PC Master race for him lol
this game looks like it could be amazing! I don't like the giant red icons above enemy heads tho, it's hard to tell whether that only appears when they're spotted or anytime that you look at them. Also the movement speed looks a bit fast, hard to tell without playing the game but it just seems a bit too swift footed for this style of game.
Red icons come up the same way that they do in BF4, so when hitting that spot button. But the icon goes away a lot faster. So it shouldnt be as OP as it is in BF4. Hoping that they tone it down a little more and maybe make them a little smaller.
+Vincent VV yeah true, but this is the one that is really gonna do it battlefield actually listens to people and what they want. looks like they have delivered so far.
that is bullshit, all they did is give bf1 in ww1. most people voted for WW2 and yet they still put huge ammount of smgs to WW1, huge let down for. I bet it will still be alpha stage game when released like dice always gave it to us...
+Sl1z3r nah not at all I'm was weary a little bit about ww1 to but this sold me. and he's mainly Just using an smg in the video. look up the other sniping ones and and there's ones were there using carbines and bolt actions. also I think they learned from bb4 how shitty that affected them.
Holy shit, that death animation/ragdoll looked fuckin sweet! And the sound and atmosphere, your character panting having just killed the dude... fuck man, I can't wait for this.
Battlefield one: basically a Second World War shooter set in the First World War. Next up...all sub machine guns in the civil war. Lol. If they want to get this right...load it up with shotguns and handguns and bolt guns.
And your whining because this man wanted a WWI game that feels like WWI. It doesn't have to be realistic, but make it look and feel like a WWI setting.
+BrilliantBass How so? Constant bombardment from artillery and fighting for trenches. MG's blazing as you rush across no-mans land with a constant air battle over head with a Zeppelin flying in the distance. Tank traps, barbed wire and mines everywhere. Sounds awesome to me having a semi realistic front line battle. Btw French nation is DLC.
I do, because it's authentic. While there were many other kinds of weapons being developed, very few were actually issued to soldiers during the war. The large majority of soldiers had bolt actions or early single fire rifles. I do want the variety that battlefield is known for, but I would also like an authentic mode that represented what most of the war was like. Hopefully there will be enough custom hardcore/roleplaying servers with rules for bolt actions only
Guys EA confirmed yesterday on a QnA onTwitter that bolt action rifles would be available to all classes and that you 'll be able to take the scopes and bipods off them (I really hope that scopes and bipods are only for the sniper class) So I don't know what's all this fuzz about. The game is realistic but not historically accurate, that's all. I think that a combination of SMGs, semi auto rifles and bolt action rifles will work nicely.
magic1wizard I meant realistic about how weapons and 3D models are made, didn't mean the gameplay at all. BF series has never had super-realistic gameplay
Dave Carender well for me it's fine while the game is entertaining with a setting that we the fans love (not like THAT other franchise and their futuristic laser pew pews). Battlefield has always had that mixture between realistic weapons and vehicles and arcady gameplay with sone crazy moments, and that's why I love it.
I don't like the futuristic female sounding voice in it, sounds too out of place for me, should be something more from that time like some English or German captain yelling at you to take points.
+dbm94 haha I really? I didn't know that man I aint played bf4 in awhile. I couldn't even remeber there being screaming in it. I was thinking it's pretty cool if they add more stuff like that tho on this one.
Jack, talk over these videos and tell us how you feel about the game so far and what you liked/didn't like. That would be much more informative as I and many others have watched the livestream gameplay loads of times already
+NerfSniper “MitchyB” SpecOps Battlefield announced that French warfare is so great, it will be dedicated to its own DLC! Hopefully this will include Trench Warfare, for this is where the French helped the most!
This is one of the probably many maps. In these 3 games you might not have seen them but the are probably in the game. There is a lot more in the game that you did not see yet (I hope)
I don't expect there to be many Bolt actions with no attachments. This is still Battlefield after all which has a lot of attachments in it and that type of gunplay is usually not in it. It could also just be that they gave all the streamers smg classes so that it was a more fast paced for people watching at E3.
+- JPoopsy - Haha, yeah I was wondering that because the majority of soldiers in that war were mostly armed with just a bolt action rifle, and sidearm.
Most submachineguns became a thing only in the last years of the war. The iconic Tommy Gun was actually meant for WWI, but it ended before they could be shipped.
At the end of the war they did have a lot more SMG's in use. At the start they had like none, then they modified some pistols to be fully automatic and they were the first "smg's" if I remember correctly. Might be bullshitting but yeah.
IMO they need to take automatic weapons back to how they were in BF1942, they weren't very accurate nor were they particularly powerful. Make them really good for short range engagements but have them as ineffective at ranges beyong say 20m (for gameplay sake and not including proper machine guns in this). That would encourage more bolt action play and make the game more of a ww1 game than a modern shooter with a WW1 skin
***** escorting the behemoth/Zeps could be fun, yknow 1 team tries to defend it others tries to bring it down. The health and defense of the behemoth is upped cause well you dont it to be so easy to bring down
Metro Lane I know that, but a lot of the articles I read questioning Battlefield 1's histortical viability have been calling it a "magic syringe". Lol.
Mosin Nagant Model 1891 was the standard Russian rifle of WWI, the Nagant M1895 revolver, 5 models of the Enfield (From the Magazine Lee-Enfield to the Short Magazine Lee-Enfield Mk III), Mauser Model 1916, Mauser C96 and a few lesser known pistols, and more. Almost all of those famous WWII gun names and manufactures started in WWI or before.
It's realistic not all people Die directly depending on the era because bullets there aren't as lethal and developed as bullets now But if you want to let your enemy die quick play cod it has hard core mode
+Aaron Javier so does BF games. BF is in direct competition with CoD. If I were to only play one of those it'd be Battlefield, but I reaaally like Planetside 2. these games could only top PS2 in the semi-real explosions and effects but the game stands well on its own. Everyone here should look it up, it's free to play-play to win.
looks pretty damn fun to me! the UI and overhead icons are a bit too colorful and Battlefront-ish. and the female narrator sci-fi voice needs to be changed to someone screaming orders over a crackled radio. (Jack , please use whatever influence you have to get this changed!!) but other than that, i'm excited, i think it'll be a good time for sure. does it have the depth that bf4 has to keep people playing, or will it be another Hardline or Battlefront where it's cool for a few hours then gets stale? that's left to be seen.
Arch Stanton I hope it is. I wouldn't be surprised if they released it like this. They are the company that ruined SWBF. But it is absolutely a deal-breaker for me. I could not enjoy this game with this immersion-breaking woman.
Why? You do realize that back in those days, it was primarily women dealing with the handling of information with telegraphs and stuff like that. I quite like it.
One of the DLC's will be dedicated to the French, meaning most likely trench warfare, for this is where they stood tallest. (Battlefield themselves announced this)
Maybe they might add a map just full of trenches and no mans land etc and maybe a mode on that map where u need to capture the trenches. That's what I want anyway.
shure but there will be no more major changes...maybe a bit of balancing here or there and some bug fixes...thats all. the term PRE-alpha was used very differently back in the days. the game is near finished
Questions: . 1.How long do people stay on the radar when spotted compared to BF4? 2. Explain the flair gun in more depth. What kind of radius does it have. Is it worth using? 3. Can you shoot infantry with that anti tank gun you have to go prone to use?
There was this, the Automatique 1918 (an Italian weapon, i probably butchered the spelling) and the Trench Gun, i guess most people liked the MP18i most. Seems to be the most versatile option.
They should say funny wwi stuff for the dialogue, like when you get shot you should say "I need an amputation!" or when you kill an enemy, you could shout "Have some schnitzel for the Kiser!"
Also why the hell do enemy players have giant names + icons over their heads? That's a little silly. I feel like all the things I don't like about this will just make me exclusively play hardcore.
idk that dosn't bother me to much, Maby I only like it now because im thinking if a friend is on the other team I can laugh as I know im trying to kill him. But it could get annoying, maby an option to turn it off. or maby its the equivalent of a Dorito.
They have a game mode focused on trench warfare It's like rush but the defenders have to hold down the trenches while the attackers cross no mans land Look it up on the website the mode was titled Operations I think
I'm no expert, but it's either because it was recorded on team neebs as a joke, or this is how the British army used to callout objectives. In modern battlefields, they'd say alpha, but it might've been different a hundred years ago. Also, different nations may have different callouts.
SMG's are for the Assault class. Recon has snipers. Medic has semi-autos. Support has LMG's. So the only way everyone is going to use SMG's is if they are all assault and I doubt that... there are plenty more Weapon Variety
the bayonet charge is such a usefull but not unbalanced thing, remember in battlefield 4 where you wanted to knife someone but had to spend about 8 years chasing them if they kept running without noticing you, the fact the charge is dfaster than the regular sprint fixes that annoyance
I love this game and can't wait to play it, But i don't know the amount of hate on every new game it seems like a trend now to hate on every game and always with that comment "It's the same game but with different skin" If you really don't like the game why you comment on someone content and you know that person will cover this game and will make content about it !!!!
TheMinecraftJarhead I realise not everything is perfect and not everyone likes the same things. But I think people sometimes forget the purpose of the game, and to explain why they don't like it. Things like 'I hate the womans voice' is fine as long as they then explain how it could be done better. For example someone perhaps like a commander to add to the immersion. As long as people provide valid reasons for hating or disliking, I'm not to bothered
JackoGinge Funny, I just don't like the game at all because it's practically just Battlefield 4 with World War I guns and vehicles instead of trying to actually recreate World War I like battles.
+TheMinecraftJarhead BTW I'm not entirely sure about this but wouldn't there be maps and game modes related to trench warfare by the time it launches? There might be a gamemode where you can only use bolt action rifles in a trench map. Remember that we only got to see one map and one game mode (conquest).
TheMinecraftJarhead trouble is, most people could of probably guessed it wouldn't be like that. BF4 isn't really a true reflection of war but contains the guns and vehicles and the setting to make it feel fun. BF1 will use some of the history from ww1 but the gameplay still have to be fun for the average gamer
JackoGinge I can play Battlefield 4/3 because I can stand a non realistic modern war shooter, but I can't stand a World War I game practically playing out as a modern day battlefield. :/
Reading these comments and people are complaining that there's not trench warfare well in ww1 not all battles took places in trenches, some battles were located in urban areas such as towns and such.
I really didn't like those weird outlines on your team mates and enemies, ruins the realism a bit when your enemy is bright white with a icon above his head lol
Hardcore mode has no spotting, no mini map, and no hit marker. Feels a lot more realistic. Also in Hardcore mode your health won't regenerate automatically.
people you have to know that this is only one map and we are seeing someone play as an assault unit. Trenches took a lot of time to build but that wasn't the whole of warfare in WW1, they had cavalry charges, they had to move through towns and villages. "Realistic"? if you guys want realistic just go enlist and tell me how the shooting is going, its a video game, I don't understand why gamers want to have such realistic games. 2 shots to your body and you are dead for the entire match, it seems that everyone is a historian that plays a history based video game.
Yeah, but if they made it realistic it would be way harder. I'm no skrub, but I play hardcore when I want something hardcore. Still, would play 100% hardcore over COD:IW any day.
Looks too epic!!! The little things like the female synthetic voice and grenade throwing animations don't bother me at all but I bet they are going to make it more epic in the final version of the game. Love you guys for making this game
I dont like how when you shoot or look at a person on the enemy team you can see a icon. It practically takes out the realism of thinking before you shoot than just spraying at a icon running behind a bush while barely seeing the person.
i get what he means, this game is based on ww1 so there might be very limited attatchments/guns in the final version. well atleast i think thats what he means.
+Detective John Kimble well oversimplified in the sense that your whole team can grab a lewis gun which wouldn't be possible in WW1 because every bloke exept just a few were using standard rifles
