The LotR vibes an "ultimate alliance" of Aeldari and Man gathering to fight Abaddon and his Gods would give is really tempting to dream of.

If the Eldar showed up, it wasn’t because of some sort of romantic notions of the past like Tolkiens would’ve wanted. It was because of their own self interests and survival, they’d probably also backstab, kill, soul steal any human to save their dickish asses. Besides any ultimate alliance between Aeldari and Mankind is just,... heresy.

To be fair, if he sent the full fleet at once, captains would've gleefuly engaged in friendly fire due to serving different gods and what would've arrived to Spire's fleet would've been pretty much nothing.

@@caav56 it would work for a while but once the Chaos fleet starts taking up losses they're bound to start shooting each other. Abby could have finished Spire if he called on Perturabo and the Iron Warriors. No way the Macragge's Honour stands a chance against the Iron Blood.

There are multiple ones it was done because he was such a popular character after the first game and unlike this one where they pushed the envelope by killing Abaddon they were able to integrate him seamlessly... I will be intrigued too on how he fits into the new stuff

@@bryan0x05 least not after the chaos gods punished him for being incompetent. As in GW had to retcon to make him look less incompetent.

If he actually died, it's unlikely that the gods would revive him. They'd most likely see him as unworthy, which he is, but I guess they figure they should get as much use out of him as possible.

The thing is, Failbaddon has the favor of all 4 Chaos Gods and nobody is willing to dispute him for title of warmaster of chaos in person. The Chaos Gods want to keep this forever-war in the materium going and Tzeentch especially is the biggest enforcer of this. Thus, they set Failbaddon up for success...while at the same time setting him up for failure. That if any of his schemes gets too much traction, they'll even the odds up. Much like how Eliphas the Inheritor was brought back to life twice, Kharn is killed a few times and brought back by Khorne to continue his indiscriminate rampages, I don't think Abaddon would be any easier to put down permanently. Like if this game is considered canon, I wouldn't be surprised if they held Spire in the Warp for many centuries as an insurance blanket for Abaddon's next crusade. Thus release him in time for the 13th Black Crusade so he can drive Failbaddon back; after all, the Eye Of Terror isn't going anywhere and it's stain will be a pretty lasting one.

The bridge of the "Vengeful Spirit", apparently, was an autonomous ejectable vessel, like the Gammilas cruisers had in the "Space Battleship Yamato". However, it appears it failed to get out of there in time.

Unfortunately, the game engine has a bit of difficulties when so much stuff is on the screen; the cutscene 3'd mission in the game is especially guilty of this

@@user-zz1sk5go5i the chaos fleet has the benefit that the dark mechanicum has nearly endless time too built new ships and restore old ones as time in the warp is of no importants. On the otherside the Chaos Lords keep fleets forthemselves not even the black crusades can unite all of the fleets.

@@user-zz1sk5go5i I'm not too sure, the Imperium is big and the Navy is spread thin, but I think some of the bigger fleets outmatch the chaos fleets.

IT would probably just crash or really lag. The detail on the ships IS magnicifent but its just really hard to render. And Also imagine trying to micro more than 10 ships

Yes, the size, shape, armament and usage of every Gloariana-class Battleship is unique. They are all different. The Macragge's Honour is the biggest Gloriana if i remember correctly.

Macragge's Honour is the biggest Gloriana-class at 26km. Others were smaller, most were around 20km.

That's what everyone forgets, Abaddon's true success is unifying armies that are content with killing one another for common cause. That task would be like getting Iran and Israel to agree to fight together and managing to accomplish anything.

I think hes an imperial saint. Not like celestine cause she has wings. He is the imperial saint of battleships and void combat. When the imperium needs to fight of fleets of enemies he shall emerge from the warp to save them. When he isnt needed he kinda just disapears in the warp again.

@Azreal Cinder ikr. Its an interesting concept and it makes sense on why spire always gets lost in the warp immediatly after saving the sector. If only gw would expand on the concept and give us some models from bfga

Two possible points: Earlier in the campaign, Guilliman acknowledged this is Spire's domain, not his. He's a tactical genius, but he's a meritocrat and would leave Spire to his specialties. Second, Guilliman is the lord commander, I'm willing to let this slide and assume Guilliman was not actually on board Macragge's Honour, to avoid putting every egg in that basket. Or he was busy.

No, that's a malfunction of their command bridge's machine spirits. The entire deck was filled with very, very mildly alcoholic gas. They're drunk enough to ignore and be invincible to daemons but still good enough to do their thing. You know, being brought to this point where... it's like when you have a drink and suddenly can put blue into corner pocket from miles away.
