Nice battle report. The table setup made it quite difficult for the Soviets to get to the objectives. About the German squad that killed the T34, with only one man left, all you had to do was pin him to rout it.
I was trying to set up the table so I'd be forced to do a valiant Ura! charge in honor of Comrade Brother Stalin. I might have left to much open ground :)

Great battle report, as usual! Sounds like you guys felt a bit rusty after not playing for a while. Remember that any kill from a Sniper only gives the target a 6 save, regardless of cover. It also sounded like you were doing artillery a bit wonky, but I may have just misunderstood what you were saying. Anyway, thanks for sharing your game.
Glad you liked it, Naz. I forgot about the sniper rule, that may have helped me out a bit early on :) We did the artillery right, I just didn't explain it step by step so it may have been confusing. I try to water down the rules talk so the videos don't run to long :)
on your mortars 1's are misses, 6 's are hits and 2,3,4,5 are pinning hits dependant on HE strength, medium mortars are 4+ against infantry, cant remember what you need for the armour but its on the cheat sheet to pin but defender gets cover save to negate 6 in the open, 5 in soft 4 in hard 3 in reinforced and so on.
Yeah we ended up skipping an entire step with the mortars lol But we were consistently screwing it up so no side really benefited. Next game we should get this thing back on track :)

I'm trying to make a conscious effort to get back in the swing of things. There's a historicals group that meets once a month in Denver area. that might be a good place to meet half way.
THis battle looks like Pickett's Charge, Soviet edition, complete with a fence. And does this game not have things like hull down, using fence lines as cover against machinegun fire, and other various defensive rolls, or is it just straight up simple rolls?
