Battleship Des Moines Illinois is my new love - World of Warships 

It's two things I've always wanted wrapped into one package: A Des Moines that doesn't explode just by looking at it, and a battleship that can fire its guns more than once every fiscal quarter.

A lot of people seem to forget that cruisers vastly out dpm BBs. Illinois lacks the sheer stopping power of other BBs, but outside of situations where an enemy can delete half her health per salvo or starts the fight with much lower health, she’s going to win most close range fights. That Iowa demonstrated this admirably. They went for a drive by, where they would have definitely held the advantage, but ended up stuck with Illinois’ bow instead.

BBs with fast reloads are my favorite, and this just goes even faster, with the great gun performance of the super heavy 8" American heavy cruiser guns. Looks like serious fun.

That Vladi on his team was extra speshuul. Moves toward an island that has a Black behind it, into a potential crossfire from an Iowa and a NC and keeps yelling for support. Not sure what he expected his teammates to do in that situation.

The commander is Com. Richard, Russian CC I think. BTW, WG has pulled Mighty Jingles and Com. Richard, from the WoWS wikipedia for unique/special commanders. It is like Pharaohs striking the names out of the WoWS records. I would not think they are that petty.

re Russian comms in ww2: They more often used the old fashioned flags for coordinating tank attacks - commander literally stands in the turret and waves flags for the others to see. Wasn't much in the way of radios.

The amount of times someone from my team surprisingly tells me to get back these days, when I'm simply playing the game, is mind boggeling.

This thing is going to make a lot of people (myself included) actually bother to grind research points. Give it a few weeks and Illinois will be everywhere and WG will have no choice but to nerf. I'm guessing the reload will take the biggest hit, and wouldn't be surprised to see it surpass 10-11 seconds (like most heavy cruisers). Enjoy it while we can.

One thing i hate about the ship, is 51mm plating on the side of turrets. They can be destroyed by friggin farts T_T

If this thing had radar I don't think flambass would play any other ship, lol

People who trash talk after playing like that are the worst. I had a WoT game in my M103 where someone did the same thing, except he body blocked me in spawn with his Centurion and wouldnt let me leave until I "treated him with respect" lol. He went off, killed a tank with less than 100 hp and died, complaining it was all my fault he wasn't there to lead the rest of the team. So anyway I absolutely demolished the last 6 enemies and won the match after, he didnt have much to say about it so it was a good ending and one of the few games of WoT I remember playing just because of how stupid he was, but also winning that game was so satisfying.

Benham getting out maneuvered and killed by the NC at 6 minutes into the game is a huge setback. That sucked.

I feel the pain of dead idiots berating you. Had a match tonight that my team all died, we had a strong lead, I just had to get away and ride the clock to win on points in my Massa. But the enemy team had a full health sub and a 3/4 Hawke bb. So I take off to run, but the stupid sub is faster then me, spotting me for the bb and spamming torps at me from 6 to 7 km. This idiot is going insane in chat, telling me to airstrike the sub. If you know anything about the Massa, likely like the sub player did, you know the airstrike is gimped to 5km for some big brain reason. So he's spotting me, spamming torps, and I can't even see him unless he pings, which he barely does, unless he already has torps on the way. But it's my fault and the guy just goes crazy in chat. Eventually the sub got greedy and moved into 5km and I killed him, but the hawke was only 8km away at that point and I'd taken about 4 or 5 sub torps. He lit me on fire with no repair party and we lost. 🤷‍♂️

This game. Often hear people say 'learn to play' Part of learning to play is listening to experienced players. SO.. you listen, do as youre told only to learn that the dickhead that is experienced is a complete potato.. so.. you try to learn from someone else that speaks up.. potato number 2. Eventually you stop listening and just play how you feel is right.. and someone calls you out even if what you are doing is right. The player base of THIS game is where it should be.. a bunch of people that just stopped giving a shit about anything or anyone else.. Hard to learn from your peers when they are trolling, selfish or just have less clue than you do. SO.. TO anyone thinking of playing this game.. yawn

I play this game for about 2 years now and I already realized in the first few weeks, that the most of the "louder" community of WoWS is plain dumb. Solution: I made the "ignore option" my best friend and since then, I never ever got bothered by stupid people in the game. You play this game for several more years and still get bothered by these guys? In all seriousness, I gotta ask you: "who is the dumb guy?" 🤣

Oh like you are saying at the start so many players in this game are that dumb and suicide early just so they can bitch others, it has happened too me many times and the guy is telling all the team too report me, and the end shows I am top by a mile and yet still I see some have listened and I end up with like 3 reports, dumb people man I wish they would get out of this game.
