Bauer FACES The Yankees

In this video I go over the Trevor Bauer situation, and how he just pitched against the New York Yankees. He gave up 0 earned runs, struckout 3 and gave up 4 hits and a walk. His control wasn't the best, but he was still solid for not having pitched in the MLB since 2021. At this point, it's hard to see him getting an offer regardless of how good he may be which is pretty disappointing. Let me know what you think about Bauer.

What surprises ME, is that the MLBPA isn’t doing a damn thing about this. The always “supportive” and “players first” players union hasn’t done ANYTHING for this man.
@antonioreconquistador
@antonioreconquistador Месяц назад
Unions are a grift, the MLBPA let 2020 fall apart and MLB go forward with all of these goofy rule changes- including the end of september roster expansion. This is another case of their caving to owner collusion, likely because the spider tack scandal brought more negative publicity to baseball than manfred's prior decisions (be they owner appeasement or poor board decisions.) Theyve never pressed MLB about the BBWAA's involvement in the Hall of Fame, they let dozens of minor league teams contract and cancel in 2020 before making a stand in favor of minor leaguers' pay/accommodation, and as far as im concerned, theyre no more than the middleman between teams and licensing.

Players associations are completely useless when it comes to defending players. All they really do is handle matters when it comes to player likeness in video games, commercials etc etc. Doesn't matter if it's mlb nba or nfl they all answer to the league first and tell the players what's happening, never the other way around.

I’m sure there is still bad blood between the players union and Bauer because of the tacky stuff scandal. You can’t out a bunch of people and then have them go to bat for you. Bauer pissed off too many different people. He still should get a second shot when he’s topping out at 99 with good stuff. He’s better than at the very least 3/4’s of MLB pitchers.

He is building evidence. It is impossible for him not to be signed at league minimum without collusion between owners. He is too good and the price is the lowest possible. The only question is if he would take a massive secret settlement to go back to japan or if he will refuse all settlements that do not involve him being signed. My fear is that they could sign him and then cut him if he has a single bad game to try to quash his lawsuit, but still keep him out. MLB cannot be trusted and the players union has shown they will do nothing to protect players from false accusations.

As a lifelong Yankees fan and a Bauer fan this is a situation that makes me reminisce of the old days. If George was still alive he would have been the first owner to step up and sign Trevor and wouldn't give a damn what anybody else thinks. George was big on second chances, but even bigger on helping those that could play and got screwed. Trevor Bauer is not being black listed from the MLB because of his allegations. One was dismissed (yes, defamation is VERY hard to prove in a court), and the third case he settled with the accuser, only after he won the right to disclosure (which ultimately exonerated him). And yes, it was and is defamation. It's quite clear YOU are the one unaware that defamation is when communication injures a third party's reputation. In our office alone, we received hundreds of sexual complaints each year. Statically among modern adult sexual assault claims (excluding people coming forward to report things that happened as children), nearly 40% of claims that women made against men proved to be false claims or unfounded. Most of those resulted in being charged themselves for falsely reporting an incident. 20% were either investigated cases without a charge resulting. The other 40% resulting in an arrest or criminal summons. This is fairly consistent with the national average.

@@unprofound Personally I saw a big change in prosecutors after the online #MeToo movement several years ago. The “believe all women” narrative stuck and caused district attorneys to shy away from prosecutions of false sexual claims by women, even when blatantly obvious it was fake. It was seen as a “bad look” for them, or so they believed. Their “Public Image” always outweighs justice when it comes to elected representatives in law, always. That mindset hasn’t changed since. The effect is that it is so much more common now. Those types of Women not only use it for financial gain, but use it as an excuse in child custody, as an excuse if they get cheating, etc. Really any time they need an advantage over a male for any reason they see fit, some will do it. They don’t care that a simple made up accusation that may temporarily get them out of a jam, ruins other people’s lives. It gets them fired, divorced as well as many other attached stigmas that come along with it. And innocent or not, once you’re accused, it says with you your entire career. Early in my law enforcement career before the detectives office I worked patrol for a little over 10 years. One night I stopped a lady for going 60+ mph through a 4-way stop intersection (which was also in a 25mph zone. She was tweaking on meth and had a suspended license for previous alcohol related offenses. She also had several used glass meth pipes in here truck so she was definitely going to jail that night (got out first thing the next morning). 3 weeks later, she and her attorney show up at the Sheriff’s Office to speak to me and the sheriff staying they would like to file a complaint against me. I was a young officer, about 3 years on the job at that point. I wasn’t there that day, but her and her attorney sat down with my boss (the sheriff) and reported to him that I tried to rape her the previous night during my shift. She came in with scratches, torn close, and even runny mascara, from fake crying. Unbeknownst to her at the time that she was there reporting this, I was at 4th day in a row at Disney World with my wife and kids over 800 miles away. After they left the office, the sheriff called me knowing I was in Orlando Florida at the time, but because it was an official complaint I had to provide several proofs of my whereabouts to make sure he covered his butt. Which of course I was able to do. Sorry kids, we have to leave magic kingdom early today so daddy can prove he’s not a rapist. It really upset me at the time, being such a young cop it really scared me and shocked me. It completely ruined the second half of our family vacation. When I got back I tried to bring the case to the county attorney he didn’t want to take on the case so nothing ever came of it. She tried it again against another officer from a smaller city in our county (about 4 years later). I forget the exact circumstances of that event but the officer was successful in bringing charges against her. That happened because we had a different judge then. Although all that happened was she plead guilty and got a $200 fine, had to pay court cost and served no jail time. (Sorry for the long response, but you seemed genuinely interested so I figured I’d give a bit more of a thorough answer to your question.)

Imagine going thru these accusations and whole world thinks you are guilty. Then you are proven she was a con artist and set you up yet still are balackballed from mlb. I wish the redsox would sign him. One of the best pitchers in baseball for the league minimum. The general manager would look like a genius. At this point I’d be happy if the Yankees signed him he just deserves another chance. He was a perfect teammate in Japan and was loved there. MLB stop this crap and let him play.

Want attention from NFL and move to MLB let him have at it. He’s not doing anything bad or has done anything bad. He loves baseball. Just more security around him for any cheap shots or death threats and someone crazy enough to commit but he’ll be fine and by June everyone forget about why he missed a few years in the mlb

Dodgers fan here. Always on the side of women during accusations and was no different when the stories first broke. Just like with Julio Urias, any crime against women = ur ded to me. But when those texts leaked + zero settlement payment makes it seem like this was plan to screw a famous baseball player for a payday. Also seems that club owners got marching orders from Commish Manfred to not touch Bauer (avid Manfred non-supporter) with a 10 foot pole. The dude has seemingly cleared his name & is still playing lights out. This is either a case of teams are afraid of negative PR despite no damning evidence or Big Manfredo using his power to keep his big critic out of the game. Sucks.

I was an Athletic Trainer in the Dodgers Org in the late '80's, so I understand a bit more about MLB than the average person. I had some of the same problems through HS & during my stint in baseball that Trevor had. Baseball is full of great people, many I met & worked with became very good friends; still are nearly 40 yrs later. I learned the vast majority of the great ones are former big league players, or neva' were players. There is also a fair percentage of former players who never made it to the bigs for more than a cup of coffee. The majority of these never weres are jealous, insecure, back stabbing & gossipy as... well, I was about to compare them to 'old women', as the old saying goes, but I don't want to drag old women to their level. I witnessed & experienced behavior where people were so jealous of someone else succeeding, they would sabotage the success, even if it stiffled success for the organization. Some were so jealous & insecure it didn't matter they weren't competing for the same job; if ANYONE shined, it made them look bad, cause THEY weren't being noticed for their 'full time shining talent'*. (*Their self-view.) I saw this self-centered behavior all the way up to Manager level. In addition, MLB, as a whole, is where innovative ideas go to die. Trevor was bullied through out his youth, HS & college years. By college, he'd developed some fairly effective coping methods to deal w/ bullies, even teammates who tried to bully him & tried to pass it off as 'I just don't like them.' I was very small for my age, young for my grade level & was bullied in HS. Never before that, but our HS mixing 2 jr high schools, brought kids who I hadn't known since Gr 1; mixed in were kids who 'just didn't like me'. I learned during HS bullies will hide/justify their bullying behavior by claiming, 'I just don't like them.', as if that justifies their actions. Trevor is well above average intelligence, he graduated HS early & started at UCLA. He had learned a LOT about the science of baseball & applied it in his unique training regime & during games. He often said back then, 'I'm not an athlete, I'm a baseball playing nerd.' He had some unorthodox training methods which were actually scientifically sound, (I am an Exercise Physiologist, by education, using it as the activity science basis of my Sports Medicine education & career. Baseball has never been accepting of unorthodox, even if it's scientifically sound. I learned that first hand. Unorthodox is also is big target for bullies & haters, (what are 'haters' if not bullies w/o the chance to directly bully.) He has a strong moral view of right & wrong, another trait of high intelligence. He ruffled a lot of feathers in the MLB front office when he was outspoken about pitching & foreign substances. Trevor Bauer pissed off the commissioner, who is holding a grudge. His unorthodox methods, above average knowledge of pitching & success triggered haters/bullies, insecure neva' were's, which has led to 'the common wisdom' Trevor is the worst of worst when it comes to baseball, "bad chemistry". I've been following Bauer's career since he signed w/ the Dodgers. His worse offense, IMO, is he acted immaturely, leading to some missteps. As much as he deserves to be playing big league ball, I'm afraid ownership cowardice & conservatism, the commish's vendetta, & baseball's haters & neva' were's

Obviously the MLB owners didn't learn their lesson with collusion back in 87 with Jack Morris and Kirk Gibson, I remember because the Tigers lost them both to free agency due to their the Tigers cheapness, I agree that a line has to be drawn because one cannot just take in a game have a few beers and hotdogs without spending 250 bucks! Bauer makes the game interesting for me, there are so many hotdogs looking for home runs in todays game, good pitchers don't grow on trees, I would love to see him in a nice English D uniform but they have to be colluding, he has matured big time, he is a good kid let him play get every fan in Detroit to flood the owner with requests
