in this video, Stefan Baumann introduces the backpack that he loves to use. After years of using all kinds of backpacks, unsatisfied with how difficult is it to find things or having them fall over Stefan finally finds the right fit. Watch this and be impressed.

The paintings of Stefan Baumann reveal the true spirit of nature by transporting the viewer to distant lands that have gone unseen and undisturbed. With the huge success of Baumann’s weekly PBS television series “The Grand View: America’s National Parks through the Eyes of an Artist,” millions of people witness for themselves the magic Stefan portrays on canvas, his passion for nature and the American landscape. By distilling his love of nature into a luminous painting of brilliant, saturated color that transcends conventional landscape and wildlife art, Baumann has captured the hearts and imaginations of a generation. Each painting becomes an experience rather than merely a picture - a vivid manifestation of his special and personal union with nature and the outdoor world. Through his mastery of light, color and artful composition, Baumann invites you to experience nature in its purity. It is no wonder that for many years distinguished American collectors, including former presidents and financial icons, have sought out his work.

Those Milwaukee back packs are based on the first pro-packs made for racket sports. I had a ProKennex pack, for raquetball, still have it, after 26 years. Holds all my racquetball rackets, gloves, clothes, everything I needed for tournaments. It would make a great pack for painters!

This was a great video. I plein air with an "enpro backpack" but this is really better for brushes which I have to carry in a brush zip holder. thanks for posting. I also love all of your videos. Thank you

Ahh - the vexed question about what to take and what to leave behind. Whilst not a watercolorist I do find them so VERY useful for capturing fleeting images in the landscape and they take up SO little room.

Hello Stefan, what a great video. I have been watching a lot of your videos and Love watching and learning from you. I am trying to apply much of your advice. I am not a Plein air artist but I have always loved to paint on just about anything, with a variety of mediums. But oil is my favorite. I plan to try the Plein air art as well. I live on small farm in rural Ohio and have plenty of beautiful landscape-so no excuses. The back pack is a great idea-hope you can get yours going too. My problem now is, I purchased one of those safer paint thinners and brush cleaners. The thing is -it is thick and milky white-( this stuff is meant to be more environmentally safe). Kind of hard to use? I used it to do some paintings but I really did not care for it. I have a lot of issues with smells etc, they give me bad headaches. I believe I bought this at one of the home improvement places.To get the normal safer turps at like Hobby Lobby or Walmart--It seems otherwise you have to buy these tiny bottles of stuff-which is so much more expensive. So I did what is probably a bad thing. The first time I tried the milky stuff I did not use any linseed oil I used straight milky white turpentine as a thinner. Then the next painting I used more linseed oil to thin down my paints. And used the milky stuff very very little as a thinning medium. After trying these two methods, I then saw one of your videos where you said to use 2 part linseed oil and 1 turpentine. So that will be my rule of thumb from now on. And maybe I can just use the Milky stuff to clean brushes. The two paintings seem to have fared well so far but I am curious as to whether I should or should not seal or varnish them. I have never sprayed or varnished an oil painting only my acrylics. I am always afraid of bad affects on the oil. Is an oil painting good if left unsealed? Thank you for all of your great work and videos-Happy Painting and teaching.

i was considering it. can it be used for oil painting? it seemed more like an ink/watercolor/etc thing
@B1ackDahlia767

@@joeredtree it can be used with any medium, whatever you want to put inside of it. I also got the matching field case, and it attaches to the bag. I love that absolutely nothing shifts inside it, everything is secure, the tripod adapter, changeable straps, how sturdy it is, & of course, the attachments. The versatility is absolutely fantastic, crazy, and after the spinal injuries and surgeries I've endured, the fact that you can use the bag itself as an easel while standing up or sitting down is phenomenal. I won't lie. It was pricey, but it was extremely worth it! 💀💜🎨

Vinegar (organic with the “mother” in it works for leg cramps also..a tablespoon or so..glug it down with some water..or even rub it on the muscle that’s cramping)….Pickle juice works for leg cramps also because it is vinegary. I didn’t know about the pills..thanks for the heads up!

Tonic water with quinine is a good anti leg cramp antidote, even better with a bit of gin.

the kelly redwing pack strada sells on their website is also about $100, but at first glance the one you have here looks a bit better/more practical

The Kelly is most certainly lighter...but the strada has some pretty pointy corners. Especially on one end. I bought a tool bag at Lowe's...$49. Not quite as nice as this one maybe...but it works pretty darn good. It's a AWP HP. The slightly smaller and lighter of the two. I'd guess it weights about 4 lbs empty?

Enjoy the usual content but a 30 minute video about fucking bag. WHY? If you can't find a suitable bag in today's age with the internet then you've got far more serious problems.
