Had leak coming through sump. Simple fix so I thought to my horror and customer's. Turned out pin hole leak at the back of heat exchanger. Boiler seven years old. Only thing I could put the damage down to was contaminated water no magnetic filter fitted either.

Great video as always. Can you provide any advice. I've got a Baxi Solo He 30, 9 years old. It recently broke down and ignitor was replaced. A lot of water inside when the engineer opened up. The company that maintains the boiler has said they think there's a pinhole in the heat exchanger and I need a new boiler. The thing is the boiler is working away OK. No water from it and the only issue is I need to turn the thermostat on the boiler back a bit as when full up it signals overheat light sequence. I was thinking after seeing your video, could the sump seal be gone and not the heat exchanger?

Great video ? for you my flue seal outside has been leaking for 18 months and when the boiler is heating up there is a lot of steam coming out of the flue its like a fog would this cause a boiler to fail eventually ? i have had 2 gas service certificates issued since sounds dodgy to me and cut corners with safety checks

I keep getting loads of them where the ceramic part of the burner comes away from the metal part

Some high temperature silicone should stick it back in place..…..needs to by fully cured before firing boiler though 😊

Your far too polite. Every disrespect for idiots sticking in a flue analyzer and charging for a service. A friend had hers serviced on friday and she said previously nobody had. Sadly the bloke who actually 'serviced' didnt stick it back together right as it's got an ignition fault. Too many clowns in this industry '.. I blame Gas Safe . Standards are appalling in the domestic gas industry. Luckily I work on industrial plant were you cant get away with incompitence
