Bayonet Fencing using a 1915 and a 1916 dated pair of Fencing Rifles. The masks are modern, but will be adjusted soon to give the appearance of looking like the ones from the period.
It would be interesting to see the difference in bayonet fighting styles between various WW1 participants. As a Romanian Reenactor, I practice bayonet fighting according to Romanian manuals, and in them there's a lot of kicking and follow up movements, for example, if you parry left, you can then either hit with the butt to the side of the head, or kick with the right leg and then bring back the rifle in a straight jab to the face.
There were indeed inter country tournaments of them. Its almost certainly worth watching some of the early videofootage that shows the difference between British and French styles. French appearing to be much more aggressive.
