I know this difficulty is called ∞Climax, not Non-stop ∞Climax like in Bayo1, but I tried to do it as non-stop, as infinite, as climactic as possible, so I sped up everything that is not fighting.
This run I used mostly Shuraba, switching to Salamandra/Rodin/Undine in tough/boss fights. Consider it as my serious mode. The only exception is Chapter 10 Verse 8. I simply didn't want to switch weapons for 1 fight, since previous and 2 following are against Sloth.
For the most part the only equipped accessorie is Eternal testimony. I used Earring of ruin for Phantasmaraneae fight in Chapter 10 (to kill little spiders with back-forward+kick) but forgot to unequip it later, Gaze of despair in Chapter 14, and Bracelet of time for Aesir.
The most infuriating part of THIS run were chapter 13, 15 and 16. Why? Because you have a teammate, that ruins your combos and juggles and takes enemy's attention (makes dodging harder). Because of this reson I just said "F*** it" and used Bracelet of time on Aesir.
When I chose weapon for this run, I didn't know Shuraba is THAT strong and can stunlock some enemies. And I really underuse charged attacks.
I enjoyed this run. It felt really different from Jeanne run, even if this game criticized for having "only one defensive playstyle".
Talking about critique. I rewatched Daedron12's video ( • A critical look at Bay... ) and laughed (not because he is wrong). While ok, Umbran climax (the main gimmick of the game) is unhealthy for the game's mana system, BUT it isn't necessery for pure platinuming ∞Climax. Many enemies doesn't have unique sound cues or any sound cue at all (only flash), BUT they has a cue they are going to attack (except Sloth) and their hitboxes matches with animations. Ranking system isn't really balanced, forcing you to play effective, not stylish, BUT you still have a choice which high DPS weapon to use. The game and enemies are designed around using witch time, BUT it is still requires skill to dodge, even if your attention is not split between offence and defence like in Bayo1. Bayo1 is balanced around no witch time. Guess what? Bayo3 is also balanced around no need of witch time in mind. But what the difference? Bayo1 is balanced around NSIC difficulty, while Bayo3 isn't balanced around anything at all. EVERYTHING Bayo2 is critisized for is a lot worse in Bayo3. I mean A LOT! Main gimmick is mandatory, some enemies not only has no cues, they also attack offscreen + has completely broken hitboxes. About weapon diversity: Bayo2 sometimes limits you to high DPS ones, and while demon slave mechanic completely overshadows every weapon in the game, Bayo3 chapter 14 verse 6 designed with 1 MOVE in mind.
In short: yes, Bayo2 has problems, but it is still an awesome game. It's fun to play both casually and seriously. And I can't say same for Bayo3. (Yes, I still hate Bayo3 with searing rage, but I hope my next run will change it at least a little bit. Casual playthrough made me believe this game is not so bad, but what about NSIC?)
