The main problem with bayonetta is that so many of her moves are mixups just from imputting them. Heel slide is a mixup, wether she'll do another witch twist or a afterburner kick is a mixup, wether she'll toss out another arieal or kill you for fighting back from witchtime is a mixup, just so much. Not to mention her counter is about as good as a free combo with twice the range.

Looking at it another way, I honestly think that playing Bayonetta makes you worse at sm4sh and here’s why. Most of her moves have insane priority so you don’t really have to worry about trades; her recovery is ridiculous so you don’t have to worry too much about falling far away from stage, not to mention that it is close to impossible to gimp unless you make some insane callouts. To continue, in a game where the fun factor is primarily based on fast-paced combat where you have little time to think and make decisions allowing for entertaining gameplay, her counter allows for brain-dead follow-up options; free damage and 0-deaths, sometimes from extremely low percentages and to top it all off, witch twist combos (although now much more easily SDI-able) are difficult to get out of because a decent enough player will be able to read your SDI more often than not ANYWAY and still carry you off top, so you don’t have to worry about people falling out of combos either. Because there are so many things that you no longer need to worry about in regards to actual gameplay, I think it’d be difficult to go back to playing characters where you actually have to think a lot more about your options. I believe sm4sh is still a great game and I still have fun with it as much as I dislike Bayo, but you can’t say you don’t understand why people think she is broken and easy and then go on to reply with ‘just SDI’ because it’s so much more than that.

Bro looking back on this shit is a nightmare. I only respect Lima cause he stayed with Bayo in ultimate when she got sent to the shadow realm by Sakurai.

I can see both sides of the argument on Bayonetta, but you guys gotta listen, when a beginner can pick Bayonetta up and make an inescapable ladder combo to the blast zone by simply spamming the b and a buttons, I simply side with the people that dislike her. Yes, you can tell people to "Learn The Matchup". But when you get killed by a person who can carry you to the blast zone at basically 0% and proceeds to taunt after, you would get pretty mad aswell.
