My mom took me to see Elvis when I was 11. I'm 55 now and she's 76. We watched the trailer and we were both stunned by Austin Butler. He moves just like Elvis. He doesn't exactly look like Elvis, but there's no one that ever will. He captured that Elvis magic and we're both excited for this film!

I'm so happy that you both were able to see Elvis in person. That's a memory that you will never forget. I hope you and your mother see the film and just keep an open mind when watching, and have tissues ready. Take Care and God Bless!

That would be a pretty good trick considering Elvis died in 1977 and according to the Maths it looks like your claiming you saw him in 1978.

Elvis grew up in a majority black community in Mississippi. In his childhood his dad went to prison for forging a cheque. Unlike many musicians today he never apologised for who he was, he never condescended to anybody and he built bridges, he didn't spend his time tearing them down. And every Rock front man to this day has a debt to him. He is The King.

The Day Elvis Died. August 16, 1977. Sylvia of the Sweet Inspirations maybe explained Elvis the best out of the millions of others who felt the loss at the time. On that hot day in August when Elvis died in 1977 Sylvia memorably explained "I made the mistake of calling Elvis boss once, and he quickly corrected me; I'm not your boss, I'm your brother." THIS WAS ELVIS

My initial humble opinion (and I realize it's just my opinion folks)?: 2023 will be the FIRST TIME I sit down to watch the OSCARS in 30 years. Just to root for Baz and the team he has put together to KICK ASS and win some awards for all their expertise and hard work!!! This is looking like it is going to be a MASTERPIECE of art.

Amazing to see how Austin Butler's voice sounds exactly like Elvis' voice... he had a vocal coach during 1 year to get to talk and sing like Elvis, and we can have a glimpse through this trailer how amazing the result is.... I can't wait to see the full result in June. This could be an Oscar-winning role for Austin... Given his vocal and physical performance and transformation here, he would certainly deserve at least a nomination

Elvis created a lane in music that never existed until he created it! And yes, he was greatly influenced by gospel & R&B!! He loved people & had a generous heart. No, not perfect, but he was a seeker, an entertainer, a musician 🎙 🎶

I agree with you 💯. My Mother loved Elvis, I watched his movies with my mother. I continue on for my mother. I just adore Elvis and appreciate everything that he was. As for the film. I can't wait to see it. I'm gonna keep an open mind and realize there could be a few things that are different that of we all know. Austin looks and sounds Terrific! Tom Hanks is a favorite of mine, unfortunately I am going to hate him in the film. I've always despised Parker for what he did and is a big part of Elvis' decline and possibly his death. I just wished Elvis would have been wise and fired Parker after he returned from the army. Anyway we will see how Elvis' story is told on June 24th. Thanks for your thoughts about the film and on Elvis. God Bless!

Loved this Trailer so much, that in May, 2022 my wife and I had already booked to go to USA to attend a Convention in Daytona Beach, Florida. We have now extended the visit, to visit many places that has been featured in this Trailer. We can't wait to visit Graceland and many places that Elvis visited and has made famous by his sharing his development there-in. Baz Luhrmann is a master film maker in this type of film making and I like many certainly can't wait for this film to make its premiere. It certainly appears that both Austin Butler has captured Elvis and Tom Hanks has captured the Colonel Tom Parker in their Essence.

Sadly the movies took 8 years of talent from the world and that had alot to do with him not getting the credit he deserves. His vocals, dance and stage presence have not been duplicated and never will. Many people know Hound dog and Jailhouse rock and think this is the depth of his talent. This probably has alot to do with him thinking he would be forgotten. The movies made him money but by his own words " no amount of money would have made me feel good about what I was doing." His talent was too big for the management he had. Vicki

You sound like me, I literally grew up with Elvis but I was an Elvis can in the 50's when I was 11 and my dad would not let me what him on Sullivan. But what I want the young people to know is that Elvis changed the culture and when white radio stations wouldn't p!at black music Elvis changed it. He changed styles, he resurrected the guitar industry. He bright gospel music to a secular mainstream audience. He was really the first real super star. And a brand, I had an Elvis shirt and pocket book. Thanks for your reaction. Be Blessed.

I myself am an Elvis fan, uncle's a superfan. Trailer's good Tom Hanks is always wonderful. But I've been an Austin Butler fan for years now - let me tell you, he is a good actor. And his Elvis is superb; both in speaking voice (how it actually sounded rather than the Johnny Bravo impression of everyone tries) and in singing voice (yes that perfect "Elvis voice" singing here is also Austin Butler; I have no doubt he needed to practise like crazy, but still)! He's always phenomenal in everything and yeah, he's one of those actors that's everywhere. Just a lot of content. Every time I see him in something that's different to his previous project I see another glimpse of how versatile he is. Something that Butler's been in that you might have seen is Quentin Tarantino's "Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood". He played Tex Watson; the guy with the really excellent beard and hair down to just above his shoulders - very film-cowboy. The other thing I'll say about this film is they did a really good job with Maggie Gyllenhaal's makeup and prosthetics. Really made her look like Gladys Presley instead of herself. It's superb. Baz Luhrmann's also the one who directed the remake of "The Great Gatsby" with Leonardo DiCaprio, the DiCaprio "Romeo & Juliet", "Australia", "Moulin Rouge"... A lot of good content. So the man knows his stuff.

Did anyone catch that Little Elvis had a "Flash" or "Lighting" Symbol hanging from his chest in the beginning as he entered the Revival? I'm not sure if the director was trying to convey that there was a Spiritual Connection or that simply was trying to make an analogy of Elvis as a superhero because Tom Hank's Character called him a superhero. Then, at the end Elvis makes a reference to being over in a flash.
@blackandredbuilds
@blackandredbuilds 2 года назад
I caught that.. Elvis like to read comic books, including Captain Marvel Jr. Whom wore a lightning bolt on his chest. He later incorporated the symbol into his TCB "taking care of business in a flash" logo. This is how he wanted the "Memphis Mafia" to handle things.

It looks like it will be entertaining. The time line is a little off. The lightning bolt came way later. He didn't wear one as a kid. Plus, Parker met him two years after his first few performances. He wasn't there watching like in the movie. Tom Hanks is also using a wierd accent. Not sure why.

Maybe without the Colonel we would not really even know about Elvis. I know he had his flaws but the man dedicated his life to Elvis, and helped Elvis become the greatest entertainer that ever lived. The Colonel was also very giving and he helped many charities that most don’t even know about…. Just giving you the other side of the coin. The movie looks awesome and it might be one of the best in 2022.
@ihatechange
@ihatechange 2 года назад
@Roy Davidson * Elvis would have made it without Parker, but maybe not as quickly. He was good for Elvis' exposure in the beginning, but after 1960 he held Elvis back. He was a "promoter", a former carnival barker who never understood the artist in Elvis, not a "manager" in the true sense of the word. Dedicated his life to Elvis?? I think not!! Elvis was his cash cow and no more than a commodity to Parker who used Elvis to pay his gambling debts. Elvis deserved much better!!

@@ihatechange Elvis was a grown man and he could of fired him anytime he wanted to do so. It was a partnership and they both did extremely well. The colonel gave a lot of money to charity, but you don’t hear about those stories, do we ? Anywho, they are both gone so no sense in bashing their legacies. This was the greatest entertainer that ever lived and the Colonel was a part of that success. Enjoy the new Elvis movie coming out and have an awesome 2022. God Bless

is that the best you can do? I try to dismiss the fact that reaction folk are a waste of time but since it was Elvis I thought to watch a few and good god there's so many ding dongs out there trying to stumble through English language its ridiculous. at least you didn't talk through it although you couldn't help yourself to throw out a few phrases of duh-like responses. this trailer gives us so much character, emotion and flaovvro its hard to comprehend but it also leaves you moved and salivating for more. even the lil kid running to the revival looked like Elvis as a child... character and beautiful...
