This is the eleventh installment, and final build installment, in my build series of the BB-63 USS Missouri - "Mighty Mo". In this installment I am building the guns for the ship; 5" twin guns, 40mm Bofors Quad guns, 20mm Oerlikon guns and the three main turrets.
The next video in this series will be a full build with the end product, so stay tuned!
The build is based on the 1/350 scale Hobbyboss 86516 kit with detail up sets from Pontos.

The only frustrating thing is that with so many views, there are so few likes. This proves once again that people have forgotten how to appreciate other people's work. Is it really so hard to press a button and thank a person for their efforts?
@NorwegianModellingBench

Indeed, it is a bit frustrating, especially since I do not do Patreon or things like that. I want my material to be available to everyone, so people that can't afford such things can see everything. The only thing I really ask for is a click on the like button (if you like it of course), subscribe to the channel, and maybe give me a comment. I don't earn any money to speak of on this either, so your feedback is very to the point.

Kenneth, a really nice job on those winches on the tops of the turrets. Those looked like they were quite fragile, so getting them installed, with no damage, must have been a bit of a challenge. Nicely done.

Thank you Tron :-) They are indeed fragile, and tiny, but actually that part went really well :D

Great!! Waiting for seeing the final result. May I give you a little suggestion? A bit more weathering on the superstructure. It gives me the idea the ship has just been launched from the shipyard. However you make great models. Keep going on!

Again, stunning work. Your 16" turrets, all by themselves, are great models. Would be interesting to see what you'd do, assuming there were the PE parts available, for one of the large-scale 16" turrets that's on the market. The final video of this series will be both amazing and sad. Great to see what you've done and sad to see the series end.

@NorwegianModellingBench
@NorwegianModellingBench 4 месяца назад
Tusen takk!

As for the 20mm guns, how would you rate the level of detail when comparing the 3D printed ones vs. the Master Models types with brass barrels en PE?
@NorwegianModellingBench
@NorwegianModellingBench 4 месяца назад
I would say they are really well made, you can see the reliefs in the barrel, which is often not the case for 1/350 3D-prints.
@basmodels
@basmodels 4 месяца назад
@@NorwegianModellingBench I really like the Master Models type but it is so much work to fully equip a cruiser or BB. For my next build I think I'll try the 3D printed ones. That being said, your build is outstanding 😄
@NorwegianModellingBench
@NorwegianModellingBench 4 месяца назад
@@basmodels Exactly. The Pontos PE ones are really good as well, but building 50 of them might not be what you want to prioritize. That is at least how I have been thinking on this one. Thank you very much 🙂
