I love thinking about speed runs in the context of the game world. This total rando strolls into Yharnam and over the course of 3 hours effortlessly cuts down gods and famous hunters.
20 hours are not that different in this context too tho, imagine being a god sippin wine while some asshat gets born and then 20 hours later he claps your cheeks
For anyone struggling with Keeper of the Old Lords.. If you get a visceral, leap forward R1 R1 then start hit L2 to fire asap you can basically chain like 4-5 viscerals before she recovers. Lock on while the viscerals finish to help. I liked the approach for Amygdala, I'm normally so worried about focusing on the head that I forget that the arms still do about 75% of the damage per swing anyway. I waste a lot of deaths on trying to pound the head.

Yo dist good luck for everything you are going through you'll eventually be good, thanks for the entertaining you are the only speedrunner I like to watch and idk feelsbadman hope everything will work out fine
I literally just watched this stream just to see the fastest way to get to the pthumerian queen lol after that I'm just gonna use the dungeons to farm good gems and weapons
Awesome run man! I do have one thing to ask, am I the only person who doesn't trigger Father Gascoigne's second phase? I see everyone do it, and I know for a fact it can be skipped.
If by 2nd phase you mean transforming his axe, then yes. You don’t want him transforming the axe in the speed run. But There isn’t a consistent “beat Gascoigne 100% of the time” like their is vicar Amelia. Lots of rng and bullshit, so no garauntee he won’t do something to mess you up. So yeah, every runner knows to TRY and keep him from going 2nd phase.
Craziest part for me is watching the chalice dungeons, I remember from teasing those as something for true souls fans, here Dist blowing thru them like tutorial levels 😂😂
Andrew Quartz not moon runes, actually in speedrun they use only damage runes, Distortion talked about a glitch to avoid orphan goes 2nd phase and have so many echoes... i only wonder what causing all thoes echoes... is it the way he kills orphan (daggers + parry) or the fact to avoid 2nd phase...
not sure if you found out by now but he uses Heir runes which increase the amount of blood echoes you get from an enemy if you kill them with a visceral. for some reason all runes related to visceral attacks are glitched on Orphan's first phase (Blood Rapture always restores your health to full, Oedon Writhe gives you 6 bullets instead of 1-3 etc.). the fact that he kills him in his first phase with a visceral fucks the game up so he gets this insane amount of echoes
Just curious...why render and upload in 60fps when the game is capped at 30? Isn't it just making the file unnecessarily large? Rendering at 60 doesn't add the missing frames
I stream at 60 fps because if I switch to a game that is 60 fps I won't have to restart my stream to go from 30>60. Restarting stream is something you really don't want to have to do.
Kinda late but beast claw isn't that good, saw cleaver may be better. If you have dlc you can use simon's bowblade or church pick, both are really good for pvp.
My guess would be that it's a glitch. Basically if you killed Henrik but didn't pick up the rune he drops before returning to the Hunter's dream, you could come back to that area and it would appear at that little gravestone (where he picked up the first heir rune). My guess would be that he kills Henrik, travels far enough away on foot that that part of the map deloads, then once he travels back the location gets reloaded into memory, it sees that the heir rune hasn't been picked up, so it puts one in it's default place (by the gravestone). But since you never went back to the Hunter's dream anything, the origin rune that dropped when you killed Henrik (i.e. the one by his body) is still there as well. Hence you end up with two copies of the heir rune.
You have to start a new game/ng+. The first time you go to hunters dream: 1.Skip cutscene 2.Run to where the weapon messengers would appear on stairs 3. QUICKLY pick first weapon (need to be quick) 4. You’ll see a prompt real quick, you need to be spamming x to catch it. It allows you to pick another weapon. No need to be quick. Only need to do first weapon quickly. 5. Hard to explain but that’s it. Make a new file and die to wolf go practice grabbing the two weapons. It’s insanely easy once you get it and can be done practically every run.
Jimigene Daso Chalice dungeons are cool in one aspect: some of the unique bosses. That and they serve a decent lore significance. Other than that though, they are indeed boring as shit. At least ng+ makes collecting material slightly less tedious
@@gl1tchspectre_ tbh the grind for them on ds3 was ass. but i liked the grind for the runes on bloodborne. wasnt locked behind pvp so it was fun to search the world and explore everything.
saying a person popularized something when it isnt even relevant to the people that will see it is wrong. pewdiepie didnt popularize it, because it was already known to the people it was relevant to. I know this is years late just had to put my two cents on the subject lmao
