that is actually a smart answer.. no one is born smart its through thier experience and knoweledge we learn.. but beauty is either you have it or you dont.
she got the point.. well that aint stupid answer anyway.. as long as u could justify ur answer.. ninerbiyos lng cya.. khit well trained ka pa d mo maiiwasan kabahan.. kc tao rin cla..
She's my personal fave for Bb Pilipinas World crown that year. The judges should have simply looked past her nervous answer and weighed more on her potential in international beauty contests.I was rooting for her coz aside from she's tall,I like her simple beauty. If she had won any of the beauty titles that night, she would have undergone extensive training in interviews to polish her speaking skills in preparation for world competition. She would have learned a lot from her mistakes.
Quiet Please! That's right. Shut them up Jeannie! She meant to say, she'd rather be beautiful because you have to be born with it. Being smart you can study, learn (ie english), and don't be ignorant about things, be informative and educate yourself. We all come to this world not knowing anything. Which leads me to be believe why on earth are these girls forced to speak a foreign language in a Filipino contest. Venezuelans do fine without english and they win! Speaks ones language with pride!
"Well, I'd rather choose to be beautiful, um because, to be beautiful it's natural. But being smart you can learn... you can learn, um a lot of things... a lot of things from the experience... you can learn from a lot of things being smart."
we got 1st runner up in 1999, Miriam Quiambao, but still... Philippines has more Ms Photogenic award than any other countries. As what Jeannie Anderson would say, being beautiful is more important because you can learn lessongs through your personal experiences and that's a way that would make you intelligent and you dont have to go through surgeries to become beautiful.( i think that was what she meant.)
The way she articulated her answer, and in this case not too well may probably be because of her nervousness more than anything else. I mean c'mon, who wouldn't be nervous when you put yourself in her shoes. Anyways, good answer, I got what she was trying to say. Hopefully the judges did as well.
im SORRY but jeannie is intelligent it just happen that shes nervous when they asked her the question.. she got the point anyway when she answered... shes very pretty even in and out..
Yeah, she actually has a good point if you think about it. It's easier, and less dangerous, to become smart than it is to "become beautiful." And she actually thought about and gave her honest answer as opposed to saying what the obvious "correct" answer is ("World peace.")
FYI, prior to her joining the Bb. Pilipinas, Jeannie competed in the Mutya Ng Pilipinas Contest. She landed in the Top Five and finished 4th Runner Up. You want to know what she answered to the final question? Well, she never answered the question. She just wept in the stage to the amusement of the audience.
miss jeannie,,don't worry about it,, there's nothing wrong in your answer i think,,not perfect but absolutely not dumb,,,well, you have a point that being beautiful is natural,,,i like that phrase,,,good job,,,
I think she understood the question clearly, its just that it took her sometimes to think about it. Probably she was not ready with the questions which seems to be a simple question. I don't know why the host had to ask Gloria to repeat the questions anyways. Her answer eventually makes sense however, she should be more confident and not look stupid I guess.
This is not funny. And i am not judging people... i was just wondering how can a beauty pageant contestant put herself in to shame by giving a wrong answer during the event. I know everybody gets nervous when you're in the middle of a thousand people watching, but every contestant was trained well before the event. I got what she was trying to say either but it was just awful to them like that.
well, she was so so much better than this year's bb. pilipinas world... you can see than she was really nervous...but she was able to answer correctly...without any wrong grammar...she's just nervous, not stupid...logical naman yung answer nya....
I watched "Kapuso mo, Jessica Soho"...She feels embarrased....she read u guys' comments and that made her cry...saying that she's stupid and all those bad stuff(know what im saying ryt?)....what if u're up there...on the stage answering a question in front of many people...wouldn't u be speechless???!!!!
she was overcomed by nervousness..and once u become too nervous, it seems helpless na prang u can't control urself na..and sumtyms ung sinabi mu s hrap, d mu akalain n nsbi mu pla..ang nkklungkot lng, sila-being a beauty queen, we expect na they'd already know how to manage themselves in front of a large crowd coz they had already undergone a long process of learning and improvement, but still some of them, d ata nla naiapply..
a better answer would be... "I would rather be smarter rather than beautiful because being smart, even though, you may not be the prettiest in the room full of glamorous people, i believe that your smartness will carry yourself further or rather higher than being beautiful alone, and that by being smart you will see that a person is beautiful enough." by the way, yeah she was nervous... she kinda choked too.. but i love the emcee, so hottt.
i agree to what she said.. it takes a lot of guts to say that.. i know that she is aware that the "safest" answer and "audience-friendly" answer is to be the smart girl.. that's what the norm says.. you'd rather be bakekang but smart.. probably because of the mushrooming of salamat po doctor clinics... this girl took the road less travelled and mind you - she's not boba.. probably those who made comment like that are the norm.. boring...
i noted that her number is 15 same with jianina san miguel..ano kaya ang nasa numerong ito.. hehe kala ko ba 13 ang malas na number di na ata ngayon.. hehehe so just a piece of advice for the next bb pilipinas candidates.. be aware of number 15.hehehe baka matulad kayo sa kanila..observation lng hehehe
#15 is not a good number. idk u guys but i noticed that this girl and janina has the same number. and they both get very nervous to the ´question and answer portion.. ahahha
Hmmm her answer would have made more sense if she made her comparison clearer...what she was trying to say is that a very beautiful person can learn how to be very smart/intelligent but the very smart (but not so good-looking) person cannot be very beautiful. Oo nga naman, posibleng tumalino ang maganda pero mahirap pagandahin ang matalinong pangit ! hehe ..Nahirapan lang siya ng KAUNTI i-explain.So, Janina...take this as an example ! You are indeed beautiful so just learn how to be smart !!
15 din ung number... maganda naman ung sagot.. kaht knakabahan, at leat merong thought and sense,, compare mo k janina, walang patutunguhan ung sagot.. hehe.. minimalas ba talaga pag.15??.. pati pangalan nila starts with a lettr "J"...
Im not saying her answer was that bad.She has a point there but she got mixed up in the end! But its okay coz I think people got what she meant(like I did).As I said on my last post, she could have made more sense out of her last couple of phrases(which I re-phrased on my last post)so hindi kanya yung sinabi ko..partly lang ! I re-phrased it for her. Anyways, she was just nervous but at least hindi siya nagyabang na CONFIDENT at di nagpalusot gaya ni Janina and her answer is better than Janina !
hehe parang ang tatalino ng karamihan dito....well obvious naman...Look at your comments ....speak exactly of what you are .....too bad lang na the "less smarter" one e had the chance to vie para sa korona....kayo hanggang pangookray lang sa youtube na me chance para mag copy and paste na me kasamang erase pa....ewan ...mga pinoy nga naman
hahah! naks galing mu! "QUITEPLZZZ" parang outof the world answer mu! pero ok lng yan d ka naman perpecto dba? hahah! pake alam ba ng mga taong nag iisip sayu ng negative cheer up! haha! ok lng yan!
although she did not deliver it well, she made her point with her answer... Janina though is a complete *** i dont know. lol. maybe Janin is a an extra... this one is the original #15. lol
....well, there's a fine line between "good" and "okay"...if she did GOOD, she wouldnt be here in youtube and people wouldnt make a fuzz out of her answer so... she did "okay". Not that good but "okay" hahaha kulit ko no? But yeah, I agree with you...SHE WAS OBVIOUSLY NERVOUS and I believe that if she wasnt nervous, she could have answered a lot better but yeah....she's alright =)
