Here are my personal votes/rankings, i'am from the Netherlands 12 points: Turkey - MaNga - We could be the same 10 points: France - Jessy Matador - Allez ola olé 8 points: Cyprus - Jon Lilygreen & the Islanders - Life looks better in spring 7 points: Belgium - Tom Dice - Me and my guitar 6 points: Iceland - Hera Björk - Je ne sais quoi 5 points: Moldova - Sunstroke Project & Olia Tira - Run away 4 points: Albania - Juliana Pasha - It's all about you 3 points: Ireland - Niamh Kavanagh - It's for you 2 points: Germany - Lena - Satellite 1 point : Georgia - Sofia Nizharadze - Shine
I love the british commentator but he says everyone in europe goes into a commercial break. thats not true! german TV doesn't have commercial breaks on free tv and the ESC is only transmitted on free TV
Graham when Belarus gives Russia a 12: I DON'T THINK THAT'S THE SPIRIT OF EUROVISION Also Graham: (slags off the Maltese spokeswoman when Malta doesn't give the UK any points)
Turkey and Greece had literally the very best songs of all… ethnic rock and ethnic pop at it’s best… you should come back neighbors.. to compete each other and to change 12 points we and Cyprus and You and Azerbaijan
"Lena, you OK there?" moments: 52:23 - I bought new underwear they blue↗ 52:59 - Oh my god, this is ssssssssOoow crazy! (Flag is also upside-down) I think this god cut off here, but at one point she said after the song "I have no idea where to go now."
This won't happen. He left his public presence. He still produces TV-Shows but no one didn't see him since his last TV-Total Show. This happened 16th of December in 2015. But the whole Nation ask for Raab doing this again.
I am 56 now and watched in 1982 Nicole and in 2010 Lena at ESC and their 1st places. But i guess i will not get old enough to see another german winner song at ESC. 😁😁😁
Şu an ki sistem olsaydı, Türkiye kesinlikle 1. olurdu. Halk oylamasında baya puan gelirdi. Şu an Türkiye katılsa, 1. olma ihtimali baya yüksek iyi bir şarkıyla
@@inanna.x1378 I have seen children resolving a dispute like this. It took them only like an hour. This dispute has been going on for almost 11 years. Accept that Germany won, as for it is the second time Germany ever won. It is ok to be second in a competition sometimes.
I miss you so much Eurovision. And those beautiful years when we were champions with Sertap Erener. Cursed be the Turkish politicians who pulled Turkey out of the Eurovision contest. I love you Europe, and we will surely meet one day. 🇪🇺🇹🇷🇪🇺🇹🇷😥😥😥😥
Germany’s win here was a huge moment in the UK, because it meant the claims that “it’s all political and everyone votes for their neighbours” was completely disproven. Germany had been really struggling for a long time before 2010. No one ever gave them a chance to win again, because they didn’t have a bloc vote to rely on.
Turkey's songs and stage show was beautiful from Germany. a political vote was made. injustice was done against Turkey. Turkish lost because of their enemies.
it's so cringe watching how lena won and actually was like a satellite floating around with having no clue whatsoever that she has won and what to do, the shock for her xD
„I here some applause. That‘s good i guess!“ „Rare for you!“ „Let‘s find out who has the X-Factor in Oslo tonight!“ „This is Eurovision!“ man i love these commentators 😂
@@murphy9039 I would say it was around 2003 when the winners fate changed. Dima and Alexander has become Eurovision stars. That cannot be said about most of the 90's winners.
@@vogelmeister6809 yes, 2007 & 2008 were weak Eurovision years IMO but there was a great improvement when the juries were reintroduced in 2009 with great entries from Norway, Iceland, Estonia and the UK all doing well. I agree there was some good tunes from 1998 to 2006 but the quality has greatly improved since 2009.
@@thesnesgeek I wasn't a fan of Dima's 2008 winning song, his 2006 entry was far more superior. Alexander 2009 win was the best winning song of the 2000s.
Because Germany were never expected to win again due to everything they did politically. They were proven wrong. Germany has finished last 2 years in a row
Sorry I didn't quite understand what you meant, but MaNga's performance back then was above the level when they first started making music. And I think Lena yes she performed well but she didn't have much of an event and MaNga's song was more meaningful.... (subjective)
@@softie_soya5851 I meant - had Turkey ever come second in the ESC? And if so, did they hate the winner as much as Lena? I mean, it's weird - Germany has been 4 or 5 times 2nd at ESC and never have Germans had such hatred for 1st place. Manga's song was good, but not everyone likes rock music. That's just a fact. And 'meaningful' is not necessarily an important thing at ESC. This year alone: Give the wolf a banana (Norway), Booty Hypnotic (Spain)...:D Still very successful songs. As I have already written elsewhere, the ESC always depends on the 'magic of the moment'.
@@Seschat It is not about hating the first, it's about that the Germany's performance was much worse than the other top 5 countries. It didn't have any visual and song didn't have a deepness. Knowing the fact that the votes were given with political thoughts, of course we are not just going to accept it benevolently. All in all it isn't about the hatred or love against a country or a person, we are just comparing the visual, audiotary and meaningfulness of the performances.
@@DrPleasent It's a Song Contest, not a Show or Visual Contest. And 'Satellite' is a successful song and was a huge Hit in Europe. And what do you mean by 'political thoughts'? Germany is not a popular country and has never had it easy at the ESC. Lena won because a lot of people liked her song and her performance, it's that simple. I just don't understand why people have to bitch about the winner so often (it's not just like that with Lena). At some ESC's, the song that I personally liked best didn't win. So what? No need to make a fuss, music is always about personal taste.
I still cant understand how northen countries didnt give some points for Turkey. I know the northern countries love Rock much more than others. I guess there are a lot young rockers lives there
The reason why Lena won was not that Satellite was the best song. It was genius marketing by Stefan Raab (the guy sitting near Lena pointing the finger at her during voting and after she won running with the German flag in the background). His show TV total was at its height at that time. So was he. Before the ESC they actually taped several episodes of the show beforehand so they had time to go to other countrie's tv shows and place her on those shows (like Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Netherlands and others). Many people loved her personality. That's why many people already knew the song (Graham actually mentions that when she had her first performance before the voting) all throughout Europe. Because Germany is not popular in Europe it usually is way further behind and also did not win with a landslide this time. But the whole thing helped. I also believe the German tv station ARD helped a little but by financing a little bit more than usual. You can see that Germany is more prominent than other countries during the show. Especially during the flash mob part (a longer scene and the live flash mob). You can't see that here but in the full version of the show.
Guys stop arguing I am half German half Turk and I am living in the USA and I am supporting both sides I thing both songs are great but they are not correct in standard English in USA.

How redundant that, when presenting the points from 1 to 7, they showed the points on both the left *and* the right side. I suppose they wanted to do what Austria did this year, but had an oversight and never fixed it.
Came here again after seeing Sertab’s Everyway that i can performance to complain like every year that Manga didnt win.Even Lena was surprised that she won. Real winner is Turkey❤️
Alle Jahre wieder lande ich hier um mir anzusehen dass wir mit Lena gewonnen haben und mit ebenbürtigen Kandidaten in den letzten Jahren den letzten Platz nicht verlassen 😂😂
