It is perhaps fair to say she has evolved some, since her interview with Trevor Noah. She was much more emotional, there. Visibly upset, as she clearly tried to push the interview and the interviewed person towards answers that 'she' had already conceived and wanted to get, but didn't. Because Trevor Noah navigated through her apparent 'hostility' with eloquence. Same as you. And she chose such a thoroughly harmless joke, as an example, to confront him with. The one where Trevor talks about his parents. How his (Swiss) father likes chocolate (Trevor's mother). Out of his whole material in that particular special, that's the joke that upset her the most? Really? And she clearly couldn't control herself. Or less so than she did with your interview. Either she plays her part, the challenging interviewer, the devil's advocate, very well and convincingly, so much so that she regrettably and perhaps unintentionally comes across unlikable, inflexible and downright hostile OR she genuinely still doesn't completely grasp and accept how comedy works and how bias can cause a person to prefer certain subject matters over others and be more easily accepting of others. Even if they don't laugh, they can still accept a joke, even if it's not clever, just easy and there's no real (even educational) point behind it. Humor, I think, is NOT an acquired taste. One cannot 'learn' to laugh at stuff that they just don't/can't laugh at. We can become desensitized to things, because of overuse, cliche...etc. or get educated on certain things and not laugh at certain stuff anymore, but it doesn't work the other way around. One cannot gradually learn to laugh at things they never found funny. I don't think that can happen. Also, I found, through watching Bill Burr, it is possible to find subject matters entertaining, even if one personally cannot really relate because of lack of experience. For example, his bits about black neighborhoods, black friends and cloths, sports, relationships, gold-diggers, American culture in general. Living where I do and where I'm from, I cannot actually relate to any of that and I can still find it entertaining. I especially enjoy watching reactions from black people to his videos. But, going back to the interviewer, she seems to have a tendency to quickly get on with the next question, when she gets a calm and collected, clear, perfectly acceptable response to something she expected something else. She appears like she wants the comedian, in particular, to squirm and get uncomfortable and drag an unfavorable response out of them. What she doesn't expect and cannot seem to handle well is a response that is the exact opposite. Then she appears to be momentarily exasperated, but quickly masks it, reins in whatever disapproval (towards the response) or dissatisfaction (that her 'tactic' didn't work) is coming to the surface and moves onto the next question. It is noticeable. Unless, she's also very good at acting, and for some reason she deliberately wants to come across obnoxious, but why would she. That is why I don't believe she's just playing devil's advocate. She seems to be genuinely ill-equipped to tackle comedians (and comedy, in general), because of the negativity (bias) she approaches it with. That she STILL approaches it with, it seems.

@@MattHunX I totally agree with you. That said, I firmly believe that Nemr is the best I have ever seen (68 years on this earth) at diplomacy and tact. He is what I have tried (with a modicum of success, unfortunately) to emulate in my adult life.

Nemr you handled this interview exceptionally well and with grace, well done.
