/ nsotd / nsotd Former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher talks to BBC's top interview show Newsnight about a wide range of subjects including his brother Liam.
Samuel Newton he certainly is more intelligent than you...He is famous, writes his own songs and is successful. what can you say to that? Being successful takes intelligent and guts.. he has both
hes working class and proud and he recognises his roots but he doesnt let it hold him back he was an ambitious working class lad and those below that expect everything to be handed to them. he worked for it and pt himself on the wire to get were he is. your clueless mate
Never was a big oasis fan i thought they were ok but not amazing like they thought they were. Have to say though i like Noel, everytime i see an interview with him if its football or politics or any old shit he always seems to speak the truth, no bullshit no airs and graces no mr bigtime.
well, as I said "since Lennon" I would say that I'm not comparing him to Lennon and even if I was, in my opinion he's up there. But Thom Yorke? Dude, seriously? Influencial? Revolutionary? Important? No, Yorke is none of them. Oasis were the biggest band since the beatles in the UK, and no one has the success Noel had when going solo with your first album. That puts him up there for me
come on now...i bet you were loving oasis when they were rocking wembley arena or city of manchester stadium. too many people get caught up and involved in the shit. liam was an unbelievable singer early on and a decent one till the end. noel is just brilliant. probably britains finest musician since lennon and mccartney
Exactly! While education is important, it isn't the be-all and end-all of everything. I'd rather hire or work with someone who is uneducated, but motivated and intelligent than a boob with a college degree.
Alot of the reason why rock isnt big at the moment is precisely what noel is saying in this, that it doesnt relate to this new sub working class, theyre all just interested in grime etc
please, "finest"? I enjoy listening to Oasis and Noel because that's exactly it; they make ENJOYABLE music. Easy, uncomplicated listening. Up and down major scales and all. Has he broke any new boundaries, been influential, like lennon and McCartney? No. Does that mean he's bad? Of course not! But I'd award "finest" to someone say, Thom Yorke!
