I think Hutton was the first investigation into Iraq, and there was a hope by the public that it would skewer Blair and the government over Iraq generally. I think in fact it was done well as this shows and that later reports addressed the criticisms of the war properly.
@David Boothroyd Hi David Boothroyd I just like to say your doing a fantastic job bringing us the archives. I'm sorry if I'm bothering you but I was just wondering if you could kindly upload the BBC's coverage of the general election 2001 please?.
I remember the Lord Hutton Report like it was yesterday, where had all the time gone? I couldn’t remember that reception area seen in this clip at 12:21 Broadcating House after a few trips there.
This was one of the reception areas which were later demolished or reorganised in the complete rebuilding work of the Broadcasting House site, with the work only starting in 2003.
Widescreen televisions were available from the early 1990s. The main channels started broadcasting in 16:9 widescreen from the late 1990s when digital satellite and terrestrial services started.
Not me Sam, I remember some of the events leading up to this broadcast, year later my mother died 22 years after my father passed away, I am now fitter and stronger than I was in 2004.
0:10 - "Turmoil at the BBC" - I ask the question, when is there never turmoil at the BBC? It is an organisation who lives in a constant state of fear and paranoia.
