Direct from BBC Television Centre, London. Over 400 leading sports personalities gather to relive the memorable moments and outstanding achievements of 1983. Introduced by Des Lynam and Harry Carpenter with David Coleman and Jimmy Hill
A better time for SPOTY, hosted by Des Lynam (his first) from BBC TV centre, simply reviewing the sporting year, rather than the half arsed awards show it is now.
I’ve not watched SPOTY since Ryan Giggs won it a few years ago🤯....back in the 80s tho there were personalities in sport, & sports-broadcasting especially compared with the bland robots of today. Thanks for uploading another gem 👍🏼
My Dad always warned that the money men would take sport completely over. He called them 'the corporate crowd'. How right he was. That is what we have now - good little corporate drones doing as told picking up vast sums. I find sport today very boring.
Great to see this back, I was only 13 at the time. I have to say I don’t agree with the stuff said elsewhere here - SPOTY is still a good watch. It’s just different nowadays!
@@patriciataylor4298 I only have 1982. If you go to the Community tab on my channel, I have posted 3 web addresses for 1982 Sports Review (it's split into 3 parts).
