Go back in time (1990) as BBD blows through the Apollo with their "SKIDZ" overalls and their SMASH HIT "POISON". You'll need to turn this one UP!! -Mike was in the zone!
As a Millennial I actually grew up on this. But I was born in 87 and I think alot of people born after 85 didnt really grow up on this if they didn't have older siblings. My oldest brother always had us listening to this.
On point like soldiers ! They were a group of Dancers from LA called Str8 Ahead here is a link about them www.iloveoldschoolmusic.com/remember-bbds-fly-female-dancers-found-em-wait-til-u-see-them-now/
These guys sort inaugurated the 90's and took hip hop and new jack swing to another level. I remember the first time I saw this in 90, it was sort a religious experience, like I was in church and the Whole place caught the Holy Ghost. I could hardly believe what I was watching at the time. Amazing stuff and loved that they gave it their all...
i did this dance at their concert, i was the only one doing it all the other girls were dancing like hoochies, been waiting to do this dance for 20 years, I didnt even have to look at the dancers, but BBD was checking me out
LaRhonda Burchett , that's what happens when you take care of yourself. Ronnie is smart with his money, quiet and laid back, and on top of that he's incredibly sexy and talented.
Man classic performance I miss those days wish we can go back to them Guy New Edition Jodeci Silk BBD Troop R Kelly Aaron Hall Gerald Lervert Keith Sweat wish we can go back to those days
Mike Bivins was a " G" in forming B.B.D. i watched him keep his eyes on the streets of boston when i would see him hanging out at nubian notions. watching hip hop breakin various barriers in boston.
Ricky Bell is the most underrated singer of all-time. Even on the Heart Break album. I'm Comin Home. His secondary lead made that song the best on the album
DAAAYUUMMN!! They broke that ish all the way down!!! Talent. Sexiness. Hype dance moves. Love BBD all day(and of course NE 4ever). I wanted to be a BBD dancer LOL...they killed it. Thank you for sharing this. :)
omg! I feel like a teenager again. these guys along w/NE still put on a GREAT SHOW! so underrated. all cuties in their own way but I can't ever choose one but Biv is the flyest mofo out there to this day. lol.
EVERYTHING about this performance was a whole vibe 💯! BBD were in their prime and in sync with one another. The dancers were on point (as usual) and straight fire with the choreography and the crowd was engaging and hype like a concert should be.👏🏽🤗 I Love This! Best Era...PeriodT!
Can you imagine what Ralph, Bobbie, and Johnie were thinking seeing & hearing their backup singers on New Edition giving them the middle finger and killing it on stage as BBD? That my freind is the best revenge of all - success!
They had every school talent show on lock...I swear every year after this came out at least one group of kids at my elementary school danced to this💃💃💃💃
Why would anyone give this a thumbs down? That entire theater was out of their seats! The levels of professional of this group too! Michael Bivens’ mic straight went out and you didn’t even notice. Plus some.
THIS is how u separate yourself from the crew entertainment wise!! BBD i THINK were THE BIGGEST that separated from NE at this time.... What a performance!!
jeffrey shell yes you missed out on a lot. I was born in 78 good thing there is RU-vid. Because for some reason record execs think we don't know the difference between the real deal and a side show. Even though my parents divorced I was lucky to know about all kinds of music. My mom for a long time was all about gospel. She still is but has opened up a little to certain R&b songs. My dad listened to everything else.
Hell least they were singing..this new artist just dance to the tracks an since maybe two or 3 words...only artist I could think of that can do this much work is chris brown...an even he not doin it as much anymore..
leonard hicks You're right lol. With BBD they can pull it off as long as Ricky hits the right notes in the chorus. But looking back at this they still sounded good. They just started a lil rough
Straight( Energy )from true artist!!!! For all of us that thought the Apollo was hyped on this one. Also check out Wrecks N Effects with Teddy Riley on the Apollo. They took it to another level.
_Showtime at The Apollo_ was such a great show! *I don't even like this song, but this was so much fun I watched it twice!* On _Showtime_ they really put on a show!
+Nick Lee Never really got into rap music. I like *singers* (jazz, pop and some blues singers) and rap isn't singing (even though they _are_ singing in this particular song). (Also, it doesn't help when you have a younger [by 2 years] brother, who thinks he can beat you up [*literally!*] for not liking the same music *he* likes!)
B.B.D., why ya drivin' dem young girls crazy? I ain't mad at cha! Poison was da shit back then and it's still hittin'! Y'all doin' ya thang! Y'all done came a long way when ya wasn't gettin' paid! Keep knockin' y'all! Nuff Said!
