@29:41 The ones that are complaining have a lot fewer residences nearby. It might be roughly the same land area, but low density is like 1 family per house and medium is at least 5. I don't think that it has to do with how much commercial you zoned (per meter squared) but how few people occupy the space around. Idk though, I haven't played the game.
very good video 👍👍👍, i learn by devs play ,wen fill the full zone ,then have much the same buildings, you can change this by zone different sizes for more variation ,like 2x2 ,4x4 ,5x5 ,2x5 2x6 and so on. the bigger the zone, the higher the builidng can becomes . watching different players give different idea's to share :)
I really hate how much parking and in general asphalt even the EU commercial assets have. It’s so damn ugly and quite unrealistic for downtown. I hope there will be neat assets soon.
There are parking lots that I haven't utilized yet and you can remove parking from roads. This video was focused on showcasing the different zone types.
@@Captain_Ahvious No no, I was talking about the parking that is baked into the _assets_ in the commercial zones. Even the european shops have about a quarter of their lot size dedicated to parking, which is OFF THE CHARTS unrealistic for downtowns.
The original wasn't a good game the moders made it a great game. Either they haven't fully added all the tools to build yet or they are just waiting for the community to finish the game. Worst case is they are going to release it all as dlc.
I think it'll be a while before I switch to CS2. I just don't believe that there is any more content over CS1 with all of CS1's DLC and mods. I'm interested to see if CS2 DLC will be just as expensive as CS1 (almost $400 USD for all CS1 DLCs). The graphics and some mechanics are an upgrade, but the content is a major step back.
It seems to me, high density should be zoned with care. Big block of such zones seems unrealistic an overcrowded to me. Some paths, parks, etc. in between them would give some breathing room in between the building. But you know the drill, it was the same in CS1.
Yes, it is definitely possible to add paths and trees between blocks, but my priority at the moment was to unlock and construct the many different zone levels so we can visualize and better design how to put them all together.
So with the large backyards of the apartment buildings, does it give any appeal bonus or is it a waste of space? Looks pretty but in some areas of the cities I build, I build to look more compact.
Its just the building model. If you're looking for less backyards, try a different zone type (na or eu) or make the zone smaller. Take note that the larger the zone, the more tax it gives.
Absolutely, but I didn't want to slow down the video by planting trees or adding pathways. I wanted to unlock as much as I can so I can see the different building models.
Yes, I still design organic cities. I'm still in the learning process of CS2 so I'm experimenting and its easier to understand with grid. It's too soon to tell if I like CS2 more than CS1. There's still a lot more to learn but its overall fun.
Performance isn’t too bad it’s been exaggerated and it’s improving you just gotta find the right settings it is annoying ofc I got a lower end pc so we will see how it goes
Yeah, the main problem is that the performance isn’t automatically tuned for your system like most games do. So you can improve MASSIVELY by optimizing the settings for your system.
I highly suggest to start with the lowest settings, then gradually increase it to see what your computer can handle. Its easy to be disappointed when the game doesn't run smoothly but its mostly because players overwork their computer and their just not aware of it. This is considering that the computer at least within or a little more than the minimum specs.
@dionisiosdiamantis5971 it was garbage. still is, but the worst stuttering got removed. you only think its okay because you havent made a big city yet..
zone smaller zone for poor residentals ,or drop taxes ,its help is saw this too, poor families cannot affort big houses, same in real too. the higher the landvallue become ,there more you have to care about. logical right .in cities ,the closer to center the higher the rent will be, cs2 have same logical .
