Sam Schmid made international headlines in 2011 after making a miraculous recovery from near fatal brain injuries. See how Sam is now inspiring others.
we are going through the same situation my son is with TBI 2 MONTHS AGO I praise the Lord to help us and help him to recover my son is a miracle just knowing he is alive after the fatal accident he had. the road is long but with the love of Jesus and his blessings I hope to see my sons beautiful smile and be able to talk walk and to hear me how much I love him ...God may help us because we are not giving up ....I love you my dear son Dennis ❤❤
I was also a DAI (Diffuse axonal injury) patient.. my recovery is miracle..After DAI brain injury I couldn't talk for 5 month, couldn't walk and couldn't move my right hand (my collar bone was broken)..But after this recovery I can't walk properly, can't write properly (I use left hand for typing).. Can anybody tell me that, can I recover fully???
Hey Maria, my sister was in a car accident 1 month ago. She had very bad brain injuries and was on life support. They didn't know if she'll make it. After almost 2 weeks in a coma, she started opening her eyes. So far, she had 3 brain surgerys. Now, we are getting good news everyday. She can hear, see, move her body, eat and drink, talk....I hope, and truly belive that your dad will get trough this and win this fight. He will wake up and start living his life the best that he can. My toughts will be with you and your dad. Everything will be okay❤
God Please send this miracle to my nephew Edward. He was in a car wreck back in September. He had tbi and appears to be in a vegetative state. So desperately I pray for this miracle to happen for him!!! I love you too damn much Edward!!!
@@miraculouslyhealedGCS3 how is your brother doing? My son suffered a tbi 8months ago, he is doing great on his paste. God is faithfull.... Your brother is goner be okay🙏
Hi@@shawtybouwer9181 ! I think you meant to ping @cristal here. Her brother was mentioned five months ago. In my case... I'm referring to me. And I've healed uncommonly well. I wish similar is experienced by all TBI survivors!!
What happened and what is his current state? What are docs doing for him? I got one 3 years ago so I can relate big time. It was a rough recovery. Nutrition and rest is important. Being positive is ok but don't over do it. He is brain injured, not dumb. Do not constantly say the only thing that comes to your mind e.g., "You look great" because it's frustrating when he does not feel great inside. Instead, just say- "Take your time. We love you. This will take a bit but you are going to improve a lot over time- I know it. We are here for you- always."
When I was 12, I had a fever. I woke up in the night and went to the bathroom. I was light headed but I ignored it. While I was peeing, I suddenly lost consciousness for a single second. After a second when I got my beerings, I only saw darkness and heard nothing. My vision, hearing, smell and sense of touch were dead. I remembered crying and screaming because I couldn't even hear my own scream sitting in my own piss, until my father came to me and it was 2 minutes around that same time I got my senses back. I don't know how much time I spent there but it was the scariest thing of my life. When I couldn't sense anything, it was like there was no concept of time, there was no sounds, no light, no smell only helpless suffering. It is an experience you can't describe in words only experience. For a short time, I experienced what a coma patient experiences for eternity because without senses there is no concept of time. I pray for the people who had to go through this.
I feel related to him because I went through the same two years ago. I still feel and remember things that I wish I could forget. I also must say that right now I just feel down and have constant mood swings, but I know I can battle this and learn how to control myself without doing anything stupid
Life is a fight when someone is willing to fight God will do his part and will bring that person to life because its not in human being to die, we were created to live and if God didn't want him to live he would have gone but the lord must have a purpose for him and its a pity that he didn't acknowledge one bit that if he is alive is because of God will not him, we have no power to keep our self alive its God who give the breath of life so all the praise go to God alone who is our creator not men....
That’s like saying this guy shouldn’t have tried at all and they should have just pulled the plug and waited for an outcome. I am a believer too, but this comment really gets me angry at how ignorant it is.
My uncle suffered some brain trauma and was in vegatative state on life support for maybe 2-3 days..it's horrible feeling always wondering if maybe one day he would've been able to come out of it.. unfortunately family decided to pull the plug. Like Sam said don't give believe miracles can happen!!
That's so sad! I don't know why doctors push to pull the plug so soon! My cousin had a diffuse axonal Injury grade 3- the very worst prognosis. His family was told the prognosis was very grim- 90% never come out of their coma and the other 10% remain vegetative, and a few miracles. We prayed for a miracle! He was totally unresponsive in a coma, and around 2 weeks started to open one eye. And he squeezed his familys hand 3 times to say i love you repeatedly but they were just told its reflex. 26 days later, he's eating chocolate pudding! Called his family on the phone to say i love you and he's going to get better! And he's getting his trach out, and feeding tube and starting rehab! There was 0.01% chance he'd make it! But I wonder if the stats are so bad because many pull the life support? The medical community need to give these people a chance to see what they can do!
Sam's story has been making a lot of headlines lately on The Huffington Post, ABC News, and other sites. Take a look if you haven't seen it already. Warning: may be a source of inspiration!
Very cool story. I am about 2 years from my brain injury which I’ve talked more about in some videos. It is a ton of work but super rewarding when you can do things you thought you might never do.
My nephew was in a horrific traffic accident on Oct 24th 2020 and has been in a coma since. We are praying for a miracle and with God's plan he makes a full recovery. He opened his eyes after about a month when the swelling of his brains started to go down and now moving his arms and legs in a rehab facility. Dec 24th will make two months since the accident. He still has a trachea and feeding tube in his stomach. He hasn't had any surgeries but is scheduled to get one for a fracture on the left side of his face. Due to Covid 19 restrictions visitations by anyone has been very restricted. I have heard that for every person its different but does anyone know at what point does a person with severe brain injury gets their eyesight and hearing back and fully wakes up out of the coma?
@@robbieferrari5723 Thanks for asking he is doing much better about a year and a half after the accident…still recovering with therapy….his eyesight came back one he was fully out of the coma which lasted about three months…..he speaks ok and understands everything…walks with a cane but improving
@@KingStaminaTheLongLastingBrandso happy to hear this... can u plz tell me how long was he in coma... we are suffrering same.. my bro is in coma frm 6 months
My cousin had a brain aneurysm and stroke. He also went into a comatose state. He was on life support for I think a month. I visited him a couple times.. I couldn't look at him. I just couldn't. It hurt. His mom eventually decided to pull the plug.. and he quietly decided to leave this world. I only knew him from brief moments we'd talk at family reunions but even then, it still hurts.
This hits deep my GFs mom died from a coma but I knew her mom since I was little but I didn’t know that was her mom when we started dating but anyway she had C.O.P.D and went into cardiac arrest in the bathroom while washing her hands and I was sleeping but my GF ran down to her and she wasn’t breathing she called 911 and woke me up when my gfs mom got to the hospital They put her on life-support and barely brought her back she was dead for 19 minutes had her on life-support for two weeks before my girlfriend had to be at 19 years old and she had just lost her bother to an overdose 4 months before her mom may they both rest at piece and god bless both of them
No matter what this kid says, give GOD the glory. What a shame to not even consider God when stating you are a miracle. No human hand can control life and death, and even though this kid did work toward his recovery, he was not the one that woke himself up from the door of death. God lives, and God saves, all the while allowing us to have our free will choices.
Well my mom is goi g through this she is still in coma its been 7 months no one knows when she s gonna wame or how she will recover i just hope she will do the same as this young man and be better than before
my granny had this very same problem back in 1989 was in a coma for 9 months before waking up an having to relearn everything but trust me the damage thats done to the individuals body of getting stregnth back isnt worth it in the end. just beware over time the strokes get worse seziures can happen an will ive watched my granny suffer all my life because this happened to her on the very day i was concived he will worsen again except his joints will go bad from the extreme physical excersice it takes to bring the mind back to be one with the body. my granny is now wheel chair bound an has been for the past 18 years i was 11 when she was permantly put into a wheel chair her bones completely deterated from the steroids that was pumped to her brain for the anurisum an stroke to stop the swelling . never should anyone ever push their body past physical pain while excersising trust an believe you will do more damage than good.oh an btw she is the woman that invented the cd rom before that she was an enginer for duke power. very smart even today but she regrets putting her body through all the extra excersise because like him she believed pain meant healing.
My cousin in vegetative from last 5 months. But still no recovery losing weight day by day. Doctors are responsible for her brain injury during delivery case excess of blood loss occure. We need prayers from you.
This makes me want to get my Traumatic Brain Injury story out there. Because I know people will listen, actually my plan is to get lil yachty to make a movie about my life. Lets just hope he does it fingers crossed
Hey Can anyone help me to know little more about Sam's injury? My brother had an injury. He was in ICU for 25days on life support. Now he is able to follow some command like open your mouth, look right or left. I just want to know is there a chance of full recovery?
@@mohammadkhizar6674 He is doing way better than we expected! Despite still being in the hospital since the time I posted that comment, he can speak normally and it seems like he can do it effortlessly. It’s truly a miracle.
@@ii-vc4bz He is doing great. It’s like he has regained his premorbid speaking skills. He is doing PT & is re-learning skills. But he is getting better day by day. We never expected it 🙏🏻
@@mohammadkhizar6674 It took months until he was able to talk because the first time he woke up, he could only move his eyes around with significant difficulty in speaking due to the tracheostomy tube and in moving due to spastic hands and other parts. But he has become way better.
can i ask one thing i am working with paralied people one of them he came back to home but suddenly he got accident after accident that person forget the memory for 8 years and he forget little things what he did. he just remembered befor 2010 what we can do that he will not use abusive language and try to remember little things what he doing
My grandmother is like on vegetative state or brain death She can move her hands, open her eyes, blinks, yawns. But she isn't aware. She doesn't recognize any of the family I don't know what to do
@@cherychery6586 keep talking to him. Constantly move his arms and legs to prevent contractures. My husband is about 2 and half years out from his brain injury. He was in a coma for 7 weeks. And all of his paperwork said vegetative state. He couldn't talk for close to 2yrs. I would visit him daily and lift his legs up and down and his arms. Its called range of motion. If you have any questions just let me know.
@@kimberlyedmonds3035 hii my mom also had stroke now it's three months she can't speak....but she move her hand and sleep cycle is also good she wake up and sleep time to time but don't show any awarness she doesn't respond to any thing....means she is still unconscious when she will become conscious again....and talk and walk again....??? Plz reply i am in so tense...
Do not forget your team of medical professionals and loved ones. They busted ass, too. I was not expected to make a full recovery either last year, and I’ve far exceeded the odds. Yes, I busted ass, but I could not have done it without my family and my doctors though.
Saved by grace and by faith, planted by the waters by the word, as the waters cover the sea. Phases of a man's life. Laws of nature and the laws of the beast and every little thing that creepeth the earth. KJV 1611. Everything is possible to them that are preserved, that preserves, in all righteousness be it left and right.
Very judgmental IMO, statistically he is a medical miracle, due to much work from doctors, surgeons, therapists, and sure much work from him but to say it the way he did sounds as if those who don't get to this level of recovery just didn't work or want it enough. He should be proud of where he is, but he should also recognize he should be giving a HUGE amount of credit to those who got him there.
@@RekhaSingh-gk2ds hi she is out of the ICU already and is been 2 months already but she is not full awake but responding little by little we still believe God is healing her and She will wake up completely soon thank you for asking and God bless you 🙏🏻
