The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square perform Mack Wilberg's arrangement of "Be Still, My Soul" by Jean Sibelius. Episode 4513. Aired March 13, 2016.
I am a young service missionary struggling with depression and anxiety, and this song has helped me so much throughout the past four or so years it’s kind of unbelievable. Praise God for bringing peace to our souls! His church is true!❤️❤️
I've battled Depression all my life and am near 70 today. This video has given me peace in challenging times as well. This is the peace we will know all the time, eventually.
This song makes me remember the day my dad passed away the missionaries and the mission president sang it for us to calm our souls but to be honest it made us cry our eyes out because we loved our dad alot knowing we will not hear nor see him again on this earth but knowing and believing that we will still see each other again because of the atonement of Jesus Christ and the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ that made us to seal for time and eternity.
With such anger in my soul, I needed to hear this song today. I love the Lord so much but sometimes I'm not strong enough to put my anger in his hands.
I trust the Lord. As I strive to do this He will give me the strength & the courage to overcome my anger & return to a calmness. He is a GOD of miracles.
Be still, my soul: The Lord is on thy side; With patience bear thy cross of grief or pain. Leave to thy God to order and provide; In ev’ry change he faithful will remain. Be still, my soul: Thy best, thy heav’nly Friend Thru thorny ways leads to a joyful end. Be still, my soul: The hour is hast’ning on When we shall be forever with the Lord, When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone, Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored. Be still, my soul: When change and tears are past, All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.
This has got to be my most favored Mormon hymn. Thanks for sharing it with the masses across the Earth. Every one should really appreciate it. Bless your worship leadership.
I know that God is good and is there for me. The daily prayers I get every morning are just for me. He knows my heart and the troubles I'm facing. Thank you Father.
May all that is within you be granted, Sissy F. I ask the precious Father God, Creator of the Universe comfort you now and for all the days of your life. May His benevolent Mercy show you His Compassion, Healing, Nature forevermore. May He restore all your time as His WORD states. Your earthly friend, Topo Gigio, my online name I call myself.
I am a Mormon forever, without The saviour's Church, i can not attest my full potentialities in Live. I love Mormon Tabernacle Choir; the best of all. Their songs sooth my spiritual wounds and give me hope that my savior hears me when i cry to Him.
I sang this song at my father's memorial service on Nov. 23, 2013, one month after his death at age 96. I don't know how I got through it. I was also getting sick with bronchitis, probably from the stress. After that, I practically ended up in the hospital with bronchitis and pneumonia. A fellow choir member came and stayed with me for 2 days because I was so sick. But I was determined to make it and I did.
One of the most beautiful touching hymns (Sibelius perfect melody, Dorothea von Schlegel lyrics and Wilberg's blessed inspiration) by one the most wonderful choirs. Feeling in heaven! Thank you!!!
I listen to this song before and after any major event. This beautiful hymn has gotten me through so many good times and bad and I always seem to be coming back to it...
"Be Still, My Soul" is so divine and inspiring. Thank you to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks be to God !!!!!!!!!! Sincerely, Robert S.J. Hu January 6, 2019.
Pain and suffering is like going through the refiners fire, being shaped and molded into something beautiful. This song by the Tabernacle Choir helps make the process easier.
So beautiful this song and makes u feel so much at peace and calms the mind so much too. Such beautiful singing from the Tabernacle Choir with those harmonies.
Be Stiill my Soul is one of my Favorite Hymns by Katarina Von Schlegel from the 1600's. She wrote the Words and maybe even knew they would help us along our Journey of Life. I feel I know her. ❤
Why so many comments related this hymn to the Mormon church? This may be sung often by Mormon churches but originally this is a Finland traditional song which the mormonites did not exist at the time this song was created. This hymn is also adapted by many Christian church, e.g Methodist, Reform, Lutheran, etc.
This music helps me so much It reminds me how much I have lost and how much there is still to gain. I am not a committed christian and question so much but Oh this beautiful music.

If you're going to comment on a Mormon video, you should try to be kind. I'm assuming you're Mormon, or big chance is that you would not be on this video. Be patient with others and kind. The person was leaving a harmless comment. Enjoy the music and your day. :)
