Hello My Northern Family! I have killed a couple Nox, and about ready to pull the trigger on the Deus 2. But, there is supposed to be a new Nox coming end of this year or early 2023.....My rinsing my machine drowned mine. I now keep the speaker dry even when washing it down. We have had the worst summer on record, tourism tanked, cost of gas kept out of town ppl away. we are fighting over scraps and winter will be just as bleak. I am so glad your doing well! We never recovered from that Nov Nor'easter, it went downhill from there. Stay safe and know your loved!
@@HuntressChannel we were in Naples a couple of weeks ago and I got dental gold and Kathy got a gold earring, but signals weren’t sparse. I saw video from Detectival today where they talked about the Manticore. Looks pretty good but same Nox charging system and only waterproof to 16’ which leaves me a little afraid to be the first in line

I think the channel should show "real life". Last year, I took an injury to my face from boogie board. We all dodge flying objects. Of course we should not engage, but to me it comes down to authenticity. Filming on the beach should let viewers inside. Lol, we could have our own reality TV show on a network. Thanks for putting up with me. This has been the worst Daytona area has been, tourism is way down cuz costs, airplane woes etc. Foot traffic pathetic and tidal power tore beach and redirected water all over place limiting size wet sand with erosion. Targets are few. Worst year ever I can remember.
That was fun! Thank you. I started detecting around northern MN. a couple years ago. My best friend Patrick would go with me some times. I got the most messed up readings detecting while he was walking with me. After a couple of trips, It dawned on us Patrick had pins in his foot from an operation, and when we were walking close together, well that was one hell of a light bulb going off. Now Patrick keeps the beer cold at a distance when we go out! P.S. Best find coins and square nails, also fish lures. P.P.S. Bounty Hunter Discovery 1100.
What a great story! I goofed on a beach when a gent asked me could my machine pick up the plates in his neck. The answer is machines pick up titanium. So I detected him and that made his vacation. I further took out my carrot and he just squealed.... I admire hunters that relic hunt. You have done well and the sport is about the hunt and the kin' ship with others that do the dumb things we do. We take on the heat, snakes, gators, wild life of ant kind, hidden crevices that we could fall into etc..... Much respect my friend! The worst thing we battle is sunburn. LOL. Your the treasure hunter, I just chase jewlery, no history in that! I want to go to VA. and hunt civil war, but the hot rocks don't play with the Nox well. @@HuntressChannel Thank's Yes a Tracker is very important. I lake kayak, back woods hunt and just hike with my dog Whiskey as well. Alone quite a bit. Getting up in years (62) I started using a Tracker in my phone per my wife's ferm request. Never had to be found but better safe than sorry. Our battle here in MN. is the state bird. MOSQUITOS!!!!!!!!!! Well some times black bears! Have a great fall and rest of the year!
Absolutely, I always have a coil stiffener on my coils EXCEPT for my Australian Coiltek 15", not many can get this so ppl are not making stiffeners for it. I am trying to find the right adhesive to glue the pieces on, I am on glue #3 today. I can limp along just fine using cable ties but I get lazy having to cut them off, rinse the coil, pit the slid plate back on and put new ties on.....but this may be a new reality I must accept to take some weight off my stick (Coiltek is DA' BOMB but its 1+ plus heavier and you feel the wear and tear.) So, I found the most recommended stuff for plastic on plastic adhesion, lets see if it can survive the Huntress :-) Hugs.
Another fun hunt Lee. Glad you were prepared for the dreaded ear tab break. You have inspired me to put a repair kit together to keep in the car. Is the "donut" below the head unit on your detector soft / padded or hard plastic? I bought the hard one and it rubs the top of my thumb almost as bad as just the bare head unit.
Hello my friend! I bought hard one and hurt my hand too. I bought pool noodle, took a kitchen knife and cut 1 inch piece and use red electrical tape to cover the teal colored noodle. As for field kit, it has saved me multiple times. I also carry spare lower shaft which I have snapped (in truck). I inspect my coil rubber washers x1 week. Ear stiffeners, just ordered a glue just for that fix to perm mount stiffener on coil. Sometimes having extra ear bud rubber tip in fix box, saved my hunt. Did, I mention my military foldable shovel should I bury in sand? LOL. Nice hearing from you! ❤️
You have some entertaining videos & have found some really nice stuff.......Yeah it's a shame the Equinox has some construction & leaking issues but, doesn't lack in performance though.....I sold both of my Nox 800's in fear I'd be faced with those common problems eventually....Hopefully Minelab will be introducing a improved machine in near future?
I totally agree. I just fixed a friends, took a chance of replacing the battery inside and that fixed the problem. There is a talk of Minelab releasing a new Nox later this year or forst part of 2023, they said it was announced at some event in Feb. Minelab knows everyone has copied the multi frequency thing and industry is catching up. I hope they do, I am out of warranty and not sure I would buy another Nox, thinking more like Dues 2. Best case, I make it and should Minelab bring out a new Nox, I will DEFINATELY buy new Nox. I have a CTX, I prefer the Nox for beach, hands down. Thx for the support!
@@HuntressChannel Yep!......I sold both my Equinox's & made a great return on my machines..I then turned around and immediately ordered the D2 wit 11" coil.......Had it since it came out & have had no issues so far......Submerged it for 3 or more hours each water hunt & has worked flawlessly......You won't break the coil ears and it definitely has less chance of leaking due to it's construction.......The damn thing goes really deep too! .....If you get your hands on one, you will see for your self......You have experience already in detecting so, you'll take to this machine quick!............I've been a die hard Minelab user every since the BBS technology was introduced but dang, Xp has made something special with the D2......It works!
So pretty silver ring there! Too bad this first ring wasn't made of gold. If I was you I'd go for the XP Deus II..... just saying. It's lighter also. I do have the Nox too and it's a very good machine but things happen to them. I love your gloves by the way. They suit the Huntress perfectly!!
Been talking about if Nox 800 fails I will go Deus 2. This is my 2nd Nox, first one got water inside from washing it down with hose. The rebooting stopped, so water must have dried out. Minelab so ppl say who read bulletin a new Equinox is expected to drop last qtr 2022 or in 2023. News came out Feb 2022. If I can hold on want to see the new Nox, I do have CTX 3030 but it's heavy. If no Nox, will go Deus 2 , kudos France for $1600.
@@HuntressChannel I didn't know there will be a new Nox out soon. I have the Nox 600 myself and Deus 2. I mostly detect fields, farms, searching for old silver coins mainly, but old relics also. Deus 2 costs about the same over here (Norway) as it costs in USD. Not the cheapest machine but to be honest I think it's worth every dollar. I've never tried CTX 3030 but I know that it's very heavy.
Lee! Need some help. I'm hunting an old 160 year old amusement park on the shore of a popular midwest lake. I keep finding rusty nails that ring up 16-36. I can't notch out any of those numbers without losing great targets. Any thoughts?!
Are you using a Equinox? What is your FE/F2 number found under the settings "RECOVERY", long press the button and it will pop a submenu. Iron and water is challenging. The school of thought is set your machine F2 = 4 or 5 which is equivalent to FE = 0. Use a smaller coil and try dropping sensitivity. You have to play with the F2 setting, some like 4, some like 5. Hope this helps, there is plenty of discussions about this.
