18:32 Not surprised by a truck at 65 mph oversteering when turning with full braking like that in the dirt. I'm not sure what you were expecting because I'm pretty sure any other driving sims would do the same if they have proper weight and tire physics lol

Yeah I’m not sure what he thinks the stopping distance is in one of those trucks even if he didn’t completely lock the breaks up he wasn’t going to make that turn going 70 mph lol

I threw a stage 1 turbo on my car, same one you have, along with the 3000tix badge. It is quite a peppy car I will say that, 10psi of boost

The main appeal of BeamNG is the over-active physics I think. Like how the cars fold like papier-mâché when sometimes they really shouldn't. :P

Beam is definitely set in a different universe, where the environment is steeped in hardened iron and the cars are made of paper mache.

put the truck in 4wd, in real life this would be stupid but beam loves 4wd. truck will feel faster and handle better. not realistic not my fault.

4WD gives better acceleration (because traction) but worse turning. It does prevent spinning out from turns though.

I think alot of the braking issue you're having is applying them too aggressively and either locking/abs activating and not stopping you. Controller is super funny with some games about how hard you can squeeze on the trigger for the brakes before its an issue 😂

@@SkapeGotego into the options and turn off the brake assist setting. I found that it made for a more realistic feel for the brakes.

I will say, in terms if suspension damage, I've raced a 1998 Buick LaSabre on a dirt track and one guy slid and essentially pit maneuvered me into the wall doing about 50-60 and both wheels were squeezed inward facing each other completely rendering my steering useless and i had to fight it to the inside and stop, becoming a hazard on the track. I'll vouch for Beam's suspension damage physics on that one

Beam Ng was never meant to be a game. It was a physics and crash test simulation program for safety testing. It was later made into a game

Especially yes, as far as I understand. Beam ng is the game they made from the original soft body physics crash test software. 🙃 it's so fukin awesome. I wish I could play it.

@@PrinceAlsham28 yeah, Beam NG started with Rigs of Rods which developed there whole beam and node physics system when they where initially developing it as an off road truck racing simulator. They ended up taking it a step further and developing Beam. Though they have in the past few years started to use the game engine for training and testing purposes with Beam NG Tech.

i think if you persevere with the controller you will eventually relise that its better for driving than keyboard but thats really it steering wheeel beets it and walking shooting ect i would always go with my K&M

Pro tip: Switch to 4WD and pit the cops back. The D-Series has a lot of pushing power.

@@SkapeGote i’m from Brasil, and at the time of launch of the 1989 model, which is the one that I own, it was considered a expensive car, and only rich people owned, cus of the closed importations that only allowed cars with nacional production. But yeah the viole quality is not very good and it’s a very rataly car.

Looks fun , that truck probably don't have ABS your brake power depends on how u hit the brake trigger if your using the controller if your using the keyboard button it'll just lock up, like the wagon didn't seam to have brakes is ABS trying to keep the wheels from locking up . Great content , awesome channel

It does have ABS, but if you try to brake while turning it doesn’t work.

I would recommend sticking with lower HP cars for the campaign. Iveade the mistake of buying a V8 sports car and ive totaled it on light posts more than five times.
