My swing is no where near perfect but I learned how to swing by doing them, the same way I learned how to barbell squat, deadlift, and press. I was intimidated by the olympic lifts so I got some coaching when first doing those.

For MMA fighter my two cents but (posted before listened Dan tilll the end hehe). For me goblet squat with heavier bells (also any jar was opened easy bcs of it) so I also think that carrying it in goblet and 'modified' goblet i hold belt not close to your chest but as far as possible with good form (as you would carry bag for example) ALSO locomotion ( advanced variations of crawling) works very well on the ground -THIS IS BATTLE TESTED BY ME before was listening to Dan when mcnuggets populated it with the guy with ponny tail

I think the peak _"What do you mean by that?"_ statement is *"I work my core"* some people will work for hours per week but have zero core stability, others do compound lifts and have WAAY better abs. The issue is that if you lift with sub-par technique, you'd do some damage or ingrain bad form, right? MORE ON BODYBUILDING FOR SELF DEFENCE PLEASE! that book sounds badass Its weird that Jacob wants his 14 y/o sister to get curves...

I really appreciate your perspective on just trying things and figuring them out! I have been nervous to go that route because I am naturally not strong or athletic, and tend to be injury-prone. Having said that, I have recently begun to try more stuff with kettlebells and barbells and had pretty decent results. I'm going to get a kettlebell training certification soon and the idea of keeping things simple for people (clients) and giving them small tweaks when needed makes a lot of sense.

Lining your sandbags with 2 to 3 contractor bags seems to have helped make my sandbags last longer.

Great podcast, Dan. For my sandbags, I liked bags of bark mulch. One, or two, in a trash bag. Then put it in a canvas laundry bag. Done.

One of my friends gave me a 100 kg / 220 lbs Atlas stone last week. Fortunately, I was able to lift it a few times. Unfortunately, my arms were hurting for 3 days straight. If anything would build some kind of "bear" strength, I think this or another large bulky object would fit the bill.
