DESCRIPTION:
Crafting the perfect beard fade can be difficult to do. Knowing what tools to use and how to blend the sideburns into the beard is something that most beardsmen mess up their first (or several) attempt.
In this video, Spencer walks you through exactly what to do to create the perfect beard fade from home.

this was EXACTLY what i was looking for! I tried to fade my beard the other day and royally screwed up! that's because i was starting with smallest clipper size working down, I never once thought about starting from the bottom with the largest clipper size! That makes it easier because that's how you'd cut hair too -starting with the longest size first. Thank you for the great instructions!

Glad I found this... looks like a really effective way to approach. I'm bald, so I have to fade it down to nothing, so at the final few passes i am essentially fading into no guard on the clippers, lol. so i'm using the lever on the clippers to even out the fade.

I am an overweight guy and have always either shaved or had a 5' O clock shadow. I wanted to to grow a beard which I've done and am ready for my first trim. Being overweight, I've wanted to fade the sides and continuing growing down below my mouth/jaw so that my face looks a bit more narrow. I've skimmed videos and it is so nice to listen to someone who explains things in a basic yet knowledgeable way and has the true/honest experience as well. Thx for the video. Subrscibed!

Great video to keep it simple and DIY. However I am new to beard growth ( my daughter wants me to have a viking beard...years of growth lol )however; I have more cheek hair on one side than the other so self consciously it looks not that great. Should I trim the cheeks lower ? And tips anyone can add ?
@livebearded
@livebearded 8 месяцев назад
I definitely understand that problem my man! If you have an unbalanced growth like that, an easy fix would be to trim both cheeks down a bit lower so they look more even and full!

Unless I missed the answer but if you only trim from the mouth line up wouldn’t there be a noticeable sharp line from the mouth where the much longer hair meets the shorter hair?
@livebearded
@livebearded 11 месяцев назад
You typically want to slightly blend it in with the longer parts! Just a little bit to avoid that hard line.

Wow that's way simpler than fading your hair. What position did you have the lever at? Open? Closed? Does the lever even matter when doing your beard?
@livebearded
@livebearded 3 года назад
The lever doesn't really matter when you're fading the sides. We do recommend doing less than more. That way you can always cut more but you can't cut less. Reach out to us at support@livebearded.com for any more questions you might have

When using a beard trimmer with a guard is it better to shave with or against the hair? I like my beard big and wide so I used a Remington XL beard trimmer that cuts to a 35mm length but afterwards my beard looked very square!?
@livebearded
@livebearded 4 года назад
If you're trying to go more for a big shape, it's better to learn a steady hand and trim using the hedge method. Trim your fly always slowly, without a guard, much like you were trimming a hedge. This way you can ensure a much more organic look if that is the result you desire.
@ngliscsaxon6128
@ngliscsaxon6128 4 года назад
thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, my 8-month untouched beard as of Monday was almost hacked to shreds by a barber and has become VERY awkwardly shaven and not what I asked for... So I have had to result in using my XL beard trimmer to bring it all back to one length to start again 😡
