Oh yeah, the judgey side eye stare. Once mine stared at a door for 10 minutes. I opened the door, went through, and said well, come out. He stared at me for 5 minutes then ran the other way.
My dragon digs alot, sometimes he sleeps alot then he is awake sometimes.he eats aLot, then he don't , sometimes he glass surfs then he don't, I kept thinking he was going into the hibernation thingy, so his lites go out 2 hrs earlier, I take thor out alot and put him.in a room to let him run around and explore that seems to help, this is my first bearded dragon so I'm learning . Thank u Elle for great videos !! I do learn alot watching them thanx again from braselton Georgia
Thanks for the Video New beardie owner here and your videos have been great! My MALE bearded dragon likes to dig at night in his cave when the lights go out, he has a massive cave so its not a size thing, I think he just likes to add his own touches lol
@@ellesreptiles Right! Also, thanks for the tip on Brumation/parasites, I didn't know parasites will cause brumation symptoms also, good to know for the future! My bearded is only about 10 months and hasn't Brumated yet.
@Elle'sReptiles I talked to you a while back, about doing a psychological study video, I have great respect for you. I have studied human body language, I do mean a real study at a college. Lot of this is cool, but some of it is incomplete, their is more to the acting out part. The aggressive behavior maybe a good sign in some cases. Love to explain more.
Hey! I was gonna ask if my beardie was okay if he made werid mouth noises, I searched it up and i think I found out it was a cough? If so what should I do?
It’s the cold time of the year and my beardie keeps sleeping but he’s only 6-7 months old. He doesn’t completely brumate, including hiding but he just sleeps everywhere! Is there a reason he keeps sleeping or is he starting to get old enough to brumate?
i dont know if you have a video on this or not. but im new to the bearded dragon family. and im curious on if you have tips for their bath time. my first experience was to use room temp water ( which ive learned was too cold) but none the less it is safe to say he's not a fan of bath time. he is still very young. im still getting him use to being handled too. taking it slow but trying. i give him treats after. but knowing the do's and dont's of it all would for sure help.
So, i live in southern NJ and unfortunately there isnt a herp vet anywhere in this state at all. There used to be and its not around anymore and they just never took it down off the web. So, im doing all the things a vet would do on my own and so far so good my big handsome boy is 24 inches long and suoer thick and so healthy!! I have noticed that hes been sleeping alot. I just adopted him 5 days ago out of a just terrible home. When i got him they had no lights for him a cold tin full of water that he was in when i arrived. Naturally he was SO COLD I COULDNT EVEN CONTROL MYSELF. I had to leave before i messed it up and they changed their minds... but i got a grip for the short 10 minutes it took to get in, get him, and get tf out of there... poor thing was also surrounded by dogs in cages barking constantly. On all 4 sides of his cage. I say cage and not enclosure because it was like a prison. 😢 so, i held him in my lap with my hand on his back petting him till i got him home and on a heating pad and on my pillow on my bed. He slept 8 hours straight. He probably NEVER had a decent rest his whole life. 😟 trust me hes in the pent house now 😊 i lost my baby one about a month or so ago. I think he had a aneurysm or maybe a bust in his head because the crest of his head between his eyes and just after were never correct. He was smaller then the rest also. But thats why we wanted him Because he needed thet extra love and nutrition... im still heart broken. Tearing up now...😢 so i hope out of all of this both of us can mend eachothers hearts and minds and ease our broken hearts and souls. But like i wqs saying there isnt a vet for reptiles anywhere around me. Can you do a video on parasite and remedies and what the procedures or/and processes would be? I want my good boy to live his life to the fullest!! Hes on my bidy pillow right now watching me type and watching the video 😂 hes amazing. God i love him so much. My swcond child FOR SURE!!! BUT please do a video on the parasite thing please. ❤
Elle, you have perfect timing. I adopted a 1 and a half year old beardie yesterday and your first part has helped me monitor how she’s feeling/acclimating. You helped me prepare for her and I appreciate your videos so much! Thanks for doing what you do!
I adopted a male around the same age. I commented about our experience if you'd like to read about it. It's a very emotional story... I hope you and your beautiful baby girl are doing good and she's making your life so much better and you hers. 🥰
My beardie is supposedly an older lady (we don’t know exact age because she’s a rescue) and she is ALWAYS so grumpy in the morning, she acts just like me in the morning lmao 😭.
Ik this was like a year ago but tysm. I am learning so much, bc of you. Trying to understand my new addition to the family bearded dragon 🐲. Mine glass surfed a lot now I just gotta wait if he does again Or she. It did the leg stretch on my hand but no poo. Or pee. If it's strained how do I help it not be strained and where do I take it out to poo Or pee. It's my first time having a reptile as a pet and it's a baby. ND it won't eat should I be worried, second day I've had it for ND I haven't seen it eat or drink water yet. I'm sorry for asking so many questions.
Hey Elle. What’s your thoughts on a dragon who hates his / her humans . We got it as a tiny baby and it’s a few months old now. Absolutely hates us. Hisses bites runs away lunges. No ammount of sweet talking or trying to handle is taming this beast. Is this just the teenage years or do some beardys hate their owners forever ? Really wanted a bearded for a snuggly friend. Can barely catch it to bath. It eats worms but salad I have to hand feed and pop the greens in while it hisses at me.
just got a baby bearded dragon about an hour ago. hes been staring at me most of the time he’s been in his tank (other than eating) he hasn’t even hid. should i be concerned?
I have a dragon that for some reason will either poop in its water or food bowl and I dont know why he will poop everywhere else too but once and awhile will poop in his bowls
I always love seeing your videos, you inspire, teach and make us all feel comfortable and happy. I hope you're doing well and continue doing videos for a very long time.
My boy Merlin licked the same spot five times in a row, it was something he's had for a year and yet still wanted to check it 🤦🏻♀️ he did not have the shared beardie braincell that day 😂 He also approached my cat when I turned away for one second and licked his nose, my cat is now terrified of him ONE SECOND! and he's traumatised my cat for life 😂
@@blueyes8682 same with me. I adopted her and she will not eat unless it moves or i feed her. I tried putting dubia in veggies, but she just waits for them to leave them.
@Eddboy96 mine won't even do live anymore, he's a riot.. last yr he tried his first ever horn worm, ate 2 and was done... they got so big I had to release them🤣a super bit his chin once and he neverrrr forgot it lol so it's canned crickets for him
Hello! so my wife and myself are new bearded dragon parents. We just got him last Friday and he is estimated to be around 7/8 months. Since we have gotten him home we cant really get him to eat anything. We have changed his veggie plate daily (bell peppers, squash, mustard greens, carrots, collard greens) and have offered dubi roaches and crickets 3/4 times through out the day. We have gotten him to eat maybe 5 pieces of collard greens. Should we be worried is this normal for bringing a new lizard home? Should we offer any other type of food? Kind of stressing out because he wont eat :(
I know you said he's not eating much salad (super normal for babies), but is he eating the bugs? And is he basking and/or active? Have you checked his temps with a temp gun?
@@ellesreptiles He has not ate any bugs he will lick the dubi roaches but turns his head away and doesnt seem to be intrested in crickets. We set a probe on his rock and it is around 97/100 degrees. He will bask but have to make him get out from his hide if not he will probably stay in there. We thought about going to get some super worms to try that today.
I have a baby beardie and I leave it alone feed it right give it good sleep with no lights a clean tank but it still has very dark stress marks when I take him out of the tank or give him a bath his stress marks almost disappear. I can’t hold him all day he is way to adventurous and will run. It is also a little cold and windy so I can’t tank him outside. Plz help me
this may be obvious, but they will definitely glass surf if they see other beardies. along with all the other things they do when they see another beardie lol. i have 6 beardies atm (4 in my room, 2 in another) and have to sometimes be clever about where/when i have them out for a socializing session. luckily, i have a few spare blankets to cover up some tanks :P
My Beardie stares. Not most of the time... but rather when I'm getting ready for a shower, changing in the morning, etc. Idk why, he just does. He does the judgemental variation when I play video games or watch RU-vid in front of him.
I just got a 4-6month old Beardie (she's a runt and was really small when the shop got her but they made sure she was fully healthy and a good size before putting her up for sale) last week! She glass surfs in the evening and will sometimes bang on the glass. No clue why but she usually calms down once I hold her
Part 1, I'm pretty sure, was the very first video I watched on my way home with our beardie, Xanphira, when she was 4 or so months old. Have always kept up with and love your videos.
Are they an adult? It's super normal for adults not to shed often once they're fully grown. And zsasz will sometimes only shed a single scale here and there too
I’ve seen videos in the past of people feeding their bearded dragons, live non-insect-based food like smaller lizards, and even mice and rabbits. Is that normal for bearded dragons or not?
It's not recommended, unless you have a female bearded dragon that has laid eggs, then you can do 1 pinky mouse after she lays. Otherwise, these sorts of foods can cause fatty liver disease 😕
The slit is called a choana, and it actually connects to their nasal cavity and allows them to breathe with their mouths closed. The jacobsons organ is on the sides of that. (That was a fantastic question, I had to look it up, so I just learned something new. Thanks 🥰)
@@ellesreptiles Thank *you* for teaching me something new about my bearded dragon. I have a female who is approximately 3, to 3.5 years old. We got her from our friend's granddaughter who had her for about a year and basically lost interest in keeping a reptile (she was only 14), and luckily our friend knew that my wife and I love beardies, and had kept bearded dragons in the past. We also had an older male, with health issues at the time (who sadly passed away 3-4 weeks after we took in our rescue...one week before his regular check-up). Anyhow, I'm greatful for your videos, and I'm extremely grateful that you took the time to research my question. That means a great deal to me, and I'm glad that you were able to learn something new, as well. I love these wonderful creatures! They are so fascinating!
Your when your pets escape video really helped me❤ I lost my crested and turned on your video to help me find her❤ well turns out she was in my closet chilling in my shoes and she was as happy as she could be♥️thanks you!!!
@@ellesreptiles lol yes I was so worried!! She was completely fired down when I found her and actually got upset when I made her go back in the enclosure lol 😂 she wasn’t ready for her adventure to end
