I don't know but I think she forgot to say how to take them a bath. - make the water warm. - don't put soap or anything just water. - make them swim around then they will poop. - water needs or can be up to your nuckles. - when there done put them on a towel to dry them. That how to give them bath your welcome :3

And if not up to your knuckles it's safer to do it up to half their belly or halfway up their arms.

We have a couple of bearded dragons that visit every couple of weeks. Also a blue tongue. We have a bush scrub area just behind us and across the road. As well as a creek a few houses down. So despite living in suburban Brisbane (10 minutes from the city center) we get a fair few interesting visitors. The bearded dragons hang out on the rocks in our back yard and occasionally steal little pieces of our dogs food. They also have come up to our back door and peered in. It's almost like they are deliberately teasing our cat.

I found going on vacations was a bit of a challenge with owning a Bearded Dragon because I had to find someone reliable to watch my Bearded Dragon you can’t drop them off at a kennel like a dog. I would say if you like to travel I would not get a Bearded Dragon. That was the only downside owning one was for me other than that they are perfect!

My brother had a bearded dragon several years ago named Kinnara, and she was one of the sweetest reptiles he's ever owned. She'd just hang out in his hoodie pocket or cling on his shirt all the time, totally chill. She was actually one of the first reptiles my brother's owned that I was comfortable with holding, because she was just so calm all the time. When she was a few years old, though, a firefly got into her tank somehow, and we didn't know until it was too late (Fireflies are VERY poisonous for beardies). My brother's had another beardie for a few years now named Comet, and he's nice enough most of the time, but nowhere near as cuddly and sweet as Kinnara was.

I love how you combine information on natural habitat and characteristics of the species with their care. It's so frustrating to try to educate someone on proper pet care when they just claim you're making things up. But with hard facts, it's more difficult to argue. NEVER USE AN UNDERTANK HEATER OR HEAT MAT FOR BEARDED DRAGONS they need overhead lights as they can't gain warmth from their stomachs and they can get burnt easily

Thanks! I'm trying to learn this for my aunt whose beardy is doing poorly, won't eat, drink, her skin's super dry and she can barely move her lags. Her tank's in a window so I had my aunt cover one side, the new cool side as we reconfigured the tank, taking out the heating pad! Now I know we did the right thing there at least.

As it should be. When we take an animal into our homes, we have to really care for them. Which is yet another reason I love your channel and the work you do. For me, I have a couple of cockatiels that live with me, and making them happy and comfortable, providing them with the best food (both seed mixes and special extruded feed), toys and lots and lots of love, they are, simply put, the ones that keep my life balanced and all the stress of daily life under control. I hope one day to convince my wife to let me get a couple of Lorikeets. I have my eyes on either a blackcapped or a rainbow. Do you have any of those in AnimalWonders?

Some people find the whole concept of "beginner" reptiles misleading. I would have to agree. I don't think any exotic/non-domesticated animal should be described as a "beginner" level pet. As far as I'm concerned, all reptiles, and amphibians, start at intermediate and work their way up to "only a specialist should be keeping this species for the purposes of rehabilitation or preservation". A lot of these so-called "beginner reptiles" end up dead, unwanted, or in deplorable conditions because commercial pet stores pass them off as some kind of entry level species, that are even appropriate for children to keep. And on that note, I need to go feed my gecko now.
@garrettburrows442
@garrettburrows442 7 лет назад
definitely not a beginner. most people that think having a dragon would be cool come to discover that are way to responsibility and either give up or don't properly take care of them and they die. it's nothing like a cat or dog theirs alot to contend

My bearded dragon Tobie is 7 years old now! His favorite salad treats are raspberries, pumpkin, and apple. He ferociously eats them as if they are bugs. Though now that he is older I have to give him warm baths every few days to help him poop. I don't know if he likes baths but he does love telling the other lizard in the mirror who is boss!

Bearded dragons are classified as beginner reptiles, but trust me, being an owner of two, I learned that they are not as easy to care for as they are talked up to be.. Especially knowing all of the possible diseases and temperature requirements. I honestly recommend anyone getting a bearded dragon does a lot of research, because it is really important to know a lot of these things before its too late.

There are no beginner pets, that’s a life. But things like local vets that will work with your animal are a first big step; when ours started to decline the nearest vet that would see him was two hours away. Vets that will see an animal ought to be first checkbox. My son’s first reptile rescue was a beardie, not that coloring though (he was a color morph-if that’s the right term for captive bred coloring). He was the only survivor from a captive clutch who disease apparently took still in their eggs. We discovered how sick he was within hours and immediately took him to our local reptile specialist rescuer. It wasn’t till four years later that a vet that would see him came within hours of us. He used orange veggies to encourage him to eat!! Is that fairly ubiquitous in beardies? -we lost him 7yrs later, the vet necropsy said it was the clutch’s original disease : (. That was so crushing. I think knowledgeable breeders make a substantial difference.

meal worm are also high in phosphorus - calcium binding mineral. Hornworms (Goliath worms) and Butterworms are an excellent staple food. Don't feed to large especially while dragons are babies. Safe rule, no bigger than width of inside of mouth.

Sand is fine but be careful what type you use! -- they naturally live on sand and you can get sand which is made to mimic the sand from the desert. -- you can remove sand but that's like putting a child in a room made out of pillows, they need sand to have fun/play time so if you don't use sand, it can make them very depressed or sad as they won't be able to do anything

Sammi McSporran We do, once a week we dust her crickets with calcium and powered multivitamin with D3. I didn't include it in the video because it was getting too long already, but I did put a link about it in the description.
