In this video, I attempt to debunk common fallacies concerning knives running bearings or washers. Which pivot type is best? Tune in to find out my take 🫡

A good mix is always the best: some washers, some bearings, some fixed blades, some slip joints, some multi-tools. Glad I live in the USA where we have choices that don't sacrifice user safety in the name of perceived societal safety (e.g. European countries that ban locking blades). I know you aren't a huge Spyderco or Benchmade guy, but their bread and butter is still primarily washers. And as for higher end frame locks, Medford and Spartan too. Thanks for a good discussion. ✌

Agreed. Variety is the spice of life! That said, the washer / bearing debate seems to be pretty polarizing. Thanks for the comment!

For one hand fast opening and closing Folders or Fidgeters, I definitely prefer Skiff's. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

I've only used knives with washers. This is because all the knives I have been gifted are small ones like swiss army or a multitool, whoch only use washers. The buck 110 is also the only knife I have bought personally, which also happens to use washers. I didn't even know about bearings for a while.

Same here! Glad to hear someone out there who just sticks with what they like / know! Thanks for the perspective!

When bearing knives first started becoming popular I hated them. I would avoid everything with a bearing. Now I probably have more bearing knives. As far as quality goes I don’t think either makes it higher quality over the other. Both require good machining to get good action. Always enjoy hearing your thoughts bro😎🤘🤘

I just got an Inkosi...my first CRK. I've put off getting one because I like the action of bearings. I will say that the Spartan Harsey Folder was smoother than this Inkosi. I'd love a 31. Beautiful knives.

Knives with washers have never let me down. They dont gummed up. For a safe queen bearing make sense, but for knives that see daily action pb washers are great my my bug out and pm2 have stupid good action finger guillotines if the weren't finger safe.

I’m glad they have worked for you! To be highest, I have knives that aren’t safe queens (all actually) and whether running bearings or washers, I have never had an issue. Thanks again for the comment!

Bearings are for little kids that like toys to play fidget with washers are for grown-ups that need a real ass tool to work with!!!

You keep saying that because bearing knifes have a cutout for the bearing, that means that the knife does not have looser tolerances. That line of logic does not make sense. Seems like you think people are talking about the overall thickness of the knife.

Thanks for the comment! What I meant by all of this is in the knife world, there is a misconception that a knife maker using bearings does so because the tolerances or machining on their knives is / can be subpar. I find this not to be the case at all and 99.9% of all new modern knives are running bearings at this point- right, wrong, or indifferent.
