I had no idea Steve was even going through this. I saw him in person back in 2010 or 2011, and he was still larger than life. To see him like this when I was thinking he was still completely healthy, is kind of sad but I'm glad he is much closer to getting in the hall. Prayers go out to him and his family.
Even as a NY Giants fan, how can you not respect this guy...95 sacks as a DT in a run first league in the 80's-90's ?? Come on...My prayers are with his family !!!
I met Steve at the old Metrodome in Minneapolis after a Bears-Vikings game. I have been a life long Bears fan, and meeting Steve and several other Bears players that day was one of the best moments of my life! Bears Nation is with you and your family!
So sad to see McMichael in this condition. He’s been a staple for bears fans since the 80s always around on a tv show, the radio, etc… But it is a great thing to see he may get into the hof. I hope it happens.
@@tonysnow5320 he was on a great team he was a good player on a great team but not Hall of Fame. You can't honestly say that his current condition isn't influencing people to vote for him
Bear down!!! You were one of the best Mongo. No one deserves induction into the Hall of Fame more than you. It was an honor to watch you play when I was a kid. The names of Hampton, Singletary, Dent, Perry, Fencik, Wilson and mostly certainly McMichael will forever be etched in my childhood memories. The greatest defense in NFL history. Thank you Mongo.
He may be similar to Bobby Heenan, who did not want to be hidden away despite his failing condition. When things like this happen to famous people it brings more attention to the disease
Because it’s important for to many families to give that loved one exposure to others for maybe the last time- why hide? Looked like he was happy for the company. And it also answers the question- ‘how’s Steve doing’, when people ask her- doesn’t it? I had an uncle with a very similar disease lived in my house growing up
One of a very very few NFL players through its history that truly defines what a "football player" is all about. Im not a Bears fan, but loved the 85 bears team. Dominant. (Sidenote: Was excited when Flutie came to the Bears in 86, but they never really gave him a chance for some reason...) Go Mongo!!
McMichael deserved that HOF long time ago. I think he is well deserving. It's too bad they didn't give him the HOF back then. This way he could have talked and said what he wanted to and be able to enjoy it more. Just give the guy what he so deserves. Sick or not! We love you Mongo. It's very said to see him or any others going through this kind of situation. Minus the HOF.
Heart breaks with his body breaking down but think they show him in real time because it is a testament to his spirit and heart that Mongo is still Mongo. So his smile is a little lopsided....his soul still shines through! Maybe his struggle will give strength and hope to others afflicted with the damn condition as well.
No one shouldn't have to beg in plead for him to be in the Hall of Fame because if they was going to put him in there he would of been in there a long time ago don't wait until this poor man is on his deaf bed to do that it would be shameful
pro football Hall of Famer need to be alive when they go into the Hall of Fame that should be a must. Please stay alive Mongo until you go into the pro football Hall of Fame, and then you can go joy everything else in football from heaven
Wow...sad to see him like that. He was very big and athletic in his days and now to see him this way breaks my heart. Put him in the Hall of Fame. He deserves it......
Steve Mongo McMichael, the only Hall of Fame that he has not gotten yet and I hope that he gets it before his time the WWE Hall of Fame give me a thumbs up if you like my comment
I saw a G. I've seen it all. Dope describes my rhymes, making all you emcees cold drop like dimes. You know MCSC is back again, and battling me on the microphone is like committing a sin. Scott/MCSC King Scott
I feel for the guy. What a horrible way to die. Just like Santo did not get until after his passing, it may well be Mongo will be in the same boat. But maybe not. I think it was worse in a way for Santo because he should have been elected far, far earlier. Shame for both.
