Beastars and Queerbaiting 

(before i start, i just wanted to note that keith ballard's beastars video is actually what got me into beastars in the first place) i think that the beastars world is actually beyond the relatively restrictive gay/straight binary. in our world people mostly present in either the masculine or the feminine, but in beastars, theres another spectrum to account for, the carnivore/herbivore binary. while one may be "straight" when it comes to gender preference, they might still be a flavour of queer in their preference of the quote unquote "wrong" type of creature (whether it be an herbivore thats into carnivores or a carnivore thats into herbivores). in this way of thinking, there is only 1 way of really being straight but 3 ways of being queer (in terms of sexuality)

This is so frustrating. The RU-vid Algorithm finally came up with a recommendation of an interesting video and the creator looks nice and puts in real effort and then you check the catalogue and it's all just flippin Beastars.

Tbh i see legoshi as a dude that has no knowledge around sexual orientation and is just lost in that aspect, he plays like an absolute virgin for great part of the 1st season and doesn't get relationships as sexual things, he tries mostly to understand people through realationships and really ignores everything that's not personality. He only start seeing relationships in a more mature way on the second season with the whole "respect for life" thing going on and even then he still tries treating people all the sams for all of them being living beings. Also, he only starts seing his relationship with Haru as something to worry about sexually and socially on the very last arch of the manga(wish we had more) which in my opnion makes him a way too unsexualised character to just put him in a box, this also plays well with haru being a way too sexualised character and his opposite in many ways Louis is gay, like very gay and has a fetiche for canivores. His first friend being a male carni didnt help for this at all, so he is very into legoshi

The Queer Reading of Beastars video is good. I remember that it had a couple of interpretations I hadn't encountered before. I also agree, there's love between them but it's not romantic. I like the shirt :D

YESSS A FELLOW BEASTARS MANGA TRUTHER it’s just so much better in so many ways, i binged the first season of beastars right when it came out and watched the entire second season the night it came out lolll 😅 literally nothing could’ve prepared me for louis offering his leg to legoshi and i immediately had to continue the story and my god… i could hardly believe that i was able to love this series any more but the MAAANNNGGAAA omg the characters are all so expressive and i really prefer the story in black and white i’m totally rambling now but am very excited to have found your channel n must share my beastars thoughts loll but specifically the scene where legoshi crushes the paint he’s holding and wipes it on his face is just a million times more effective in black and white, when i first watched that scene in the anime i was pretty confused as to why it happened at all, just an awkward useless moment but in the manga it’s so clear that the paint is supposed to look like blood and the panel of him wiping on his mouth is quite menacing (especially considering he crushed it out of jealously towards haru) while in the anime he just looks like a goofball that smeared paint all over his face lol

I've been a beastars fan for years! How have I never found your work until now??

Haru has more time and relevance in the first quarter of the _BEASTARS_ story (which was the entirety of Season 1) than she does in the rest of it. It's pretty much Legoshi and Louis's story, with Juno and Haru being plot devices.
