From someone who’s read the manga this story has a lot of social commentary. It gets so much darker. I’m glade the anime is getting a really good response from the community. This story is dope as hell.

Re:animated the first episode covers the first four chapters of the manga almost word for word. They cut some minor things, but I’m happy so far with the adaptation. Witch is important because this is a really complex story with a complex cast. This story is about to get grim dark for sure.

To answer your question about the purple "mist" Legosi inhaled: It's a visual representation of the bunny - Haru's - actual scent. It triggered his pirmal, predatory hunger. He can keep his cool even though he hangs out with a lot of herbivores for the most part, but you gotta understand that these were the "perfect" set of circumstances for him to lose control. Legosi smelled the scent of a prey animal. The darkness and fog obstructed his vision, so his nose becomes more keen to the scent. When Haru ran away, that probably fired up his chasing instinct as well - and by then her scent had already gotten his inner hunter excited. He leaped at her in pursuit before he even realized it. That's what carnivores probably have to endure every day being around herbivores. The show just wanted to show you a more exaggerated version of what they - and Legosi, in this instance - experience when inhaling such smells. It wasn't a set-up. It is unfortunately the reality that every carnivore faces.

One of the most beautiful things about this series is the setting. A lot of animes are generic fantasy worlds or quirky urban fantasies set in Japan. It feels real and lived in, and the characters add to it and vice versa.

Re:animated Oh it really is like that dude. Trust me, the manga is incredible. Even if you’re not a furry, like myself, you can appreciate the intricate world building and storytelling that goes on in this series. The characters are also very complex. Believe me, it’s some of the best stuff coming out rn.

This is the same studio that animated Land of the Lustrous and the cgi in that was stunningly beautiful plus I believe this will be the best anime this season story wise as the manga has lots of content that goes beyond mystery

If you guys like this show based on anthropomorphic animals tackling world world issues I suggest *_Sherlock Hound_* It has a great English dub. It is actually an old anime from Miyazaki himself. It is the short stories of Sherlock Holmes from the perspective of anthropomorphic dogs, it is highly detailed, serious adult tone with splashes of dry British comedy
