The real NYC Anthem. This stunning performance makes me shed some tears. RIP Adam. Thanks for initiating us punk kids to the beauty of hip hop beats and flows.
Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Staten, from the Battery to the top of Manhattan. Asian, Middle-Eastern and Latin. Black, White, New York you make it happen...
the beasties are one of rare cases of artists that after 20 years in the music business were still genuinely having a lot of fun rather than being worn-out by the machine of the industry. maybe because they have always been true to themselves, and only did what they liked. managing to live life like that, never losing the playfulness we had as kids, is precious.
@@Ronaldo1774 Be objective dude. You can't honestly say these are good rhymes. I love the Beastie Boys. This is NOT one of their best. You probably enjoy the delivery, and so do I. Specially from Ad Rock. Delivery =/= bars.
I love how happy and full of life Yauch looks on this video, the same with the Root Down Live On Vegas video (look it up), he was so cool yet always had a smile .... the best ever!! RIP Brother .... You are truly missed but heaven now has the coolest angel that's cooler than a cucumber in a bowl of hot sauce!! We miss you Adam Yauch though your legacy will live on!!
Miss them so much. I had the pleasure of seeing then live back in 1987 when they exploded onto the Hip Hop Scene. And then they just got better & better.
Dear New York I hope your doing well, I know a lots changed and you've been through hell... younger generations probably won't understand how this correlates to the September 11th attacks. An amazing way to pay homage
Saw that performance live on TV and just thought: "Damn, these guys still kick ass and are so lucky to represent their beloved NYC in the coolest way, live and direct on TV!" Next I bought the album, which is great and has great Artwork! God I miss them... *feeling tears comin up*
The BEASTIE BOYS changed my life! Today is MCA day! MCA Day is a Brooklyn-based fan-organized event intended to provide a space to honor and celebrate the life, music and legacy of Beastie Boy Adam “MCA” Yauch. R.I.P. ( RAP IN PARADISE ) MCA. 😎
Through your gates at Ellis Island we passed in droves! .. Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, and Staten.. From the Battery to the top of Manhattan. Asian, Middle Eastern, and Latin, Black, White, you make it happen. ❤
Beastie boys showing you that their are as real as the best of the best of the original 80s hip hop ,rap groups, people need to understand that these guys earned their stripes on the road with run DMC ,ll cool j etc etc, love the Beastie boys albums, everyone of them.
Damn, it was so hard to find this vid some time ago. Someone had put it on youtube like 2 years ago, but then it was deleted, and I couldn't find it anymore, nowhere. Now it's here, in better quality, and I am so happy about that :) IMO tha's the best live performance of Beastie Boys. First time i saw this live on tv (2004 MTV music awards in Rome as far as I remember), and I loved it! Thank you glorymorniing!
I literally saw the hairs on my arm stand up, almost jumping off at the line "Home to many rejecting no one Accepting peoples of all places, wherever they're from"
@fighterace34: I was thinking that, and hoping they weren't....but if you listen at 1minute 45 seconds 'the best I caaaaaaaaan'....now the 'can' should be shorter in the original, but think he longed it out there, making it live! Awesome Live performance. Love the lyrics and the message behind the song, by some of New York's prodigal sons. Thanks for uploading!
